Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) But his shoulder has been sore since his first outing, and every outing since. Wouldn't that point to a bigger problem? Take 6 months off from physical activity and then do 300 squats, let me know how that feels the next day.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) I don't get how people can spend so much time on the phone late at night, I get like 2 text messages a day. I can see during the day if they have work related stuff but out on a saturday night? I don't get it. Because they do this: facebook internet facebook check in here facebook texts texts facebook check in again over and over

Smart phones and texting. Walk into a restaurant or bar and 75 percent of the people have their heads down staring at their phones.

Things that need to come back...
I play a modern version of Oregon trail on my ipad. Drive ins are still around, and are still awesome. Movie theaters in general are hurting. Coke in glass bottles is pretty prevalent compared to a few years ago, I always thought recycling would help their cause. I'm going to go with answering machines and pagers. People had alot more patience years ago when they couldnt reach you and actually waited for you to call them back instead of endlessly texting, calling, facebooking you until you finally were reached.

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Basketball Thread
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 06:51 PM) For a basketball program like Tennessee, that's awesome. That Elite 8 appearance was the first in school history. He took us to a #1 ranking two years ago (though it was short-lived). If you average a Sweet 16 every 3 seasons at UT, you're doing well... Actually, I'd venture a guess that a lot of programs would be happy with the results Pearl got at Tennessee. In the last 6 seasons, how many schools have been to two Sweet 16's and an Elite 8? Probably no more than 20. That leaves 300+ other D1 programs that didn't accomplish that. My comment had nothing to do with comparisons to other schools, i just though he did better thats all.

With all the Pearl news on today, I was actually surprised to learn he didnt have all that much success at Tenn, only one elite eight appearance and 2 sweet sixteen births? For some reason I thought he advanced more times than that.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 05:30 PM) From the extreme sideline of half court isn't a "makeable shot", especially with a defender in the area. That is a miracle shot. Howard's throw would have just been a bigger miracle. The combined chances of either of those shots going in would be under 1%. Thats what UM thought when they allowed Evan Turner to take that very same shot.

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 08:08 AM) It's only funny if you're either an AT&T executive, a telecom lobbyist, or you use no telecommunications services whatsoever. If you're not in one of those 3 groups, then I'd say it's much more tragic. Except that worldcom is on the other side of the fence which turned out to be really good for Att.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 09:19 PM) Tressel suspended for the first 5 games now. I guess today is a good day to come out with it and let it be overlooked. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6230308 Voluntarily. I would think they would actually like that to be in the news.

Women are targets, not actually people
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 05:34 PM) Haha, I knew as I was writing it that, if anyone on the site would refute what I said, it'd be you. Its no unrealistic. Especially if you pull in some hogs on drunken nights. I know there was a year or two in there where my brain literally made itself forget I ever bedded a few of them. 50 is still alot though, you better wrap that s*** up.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 06:00 PM) And, as usual, Vandy doesn't show up in the tournament. Good thing I picked Richmond... I picked them in most of mine, it was a good 12-5 upset pick.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 04:25 PM) I figured most fraternities were filled with douches like this... not news. They aren't. It's about the same ratio as people who aren't in one.

Women are targets, not actually people
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 02:42 PM) If there's one thing I can't stand, it's a terrible liar. The kind of guy who wrote this letter is one of them, a person who can't see the difference between telling a believable lie and an outrageous one. This guy claims to have had sex with 50 women. That is damn near impossible, especially for someone who is still in college. Instead of picking a reasonably high number, he chooses an absurd amount and then writes a detailed essay on it, further proving how big of a liar he is. I have a friend who claimed to have been with 70+ women. Trust me, when you tell a story that's that ridiculous, nobody believes you. NOBODY believes you and while you think you're building yourself up in other people's eyes, they're laughing at you for being so stupid. I just hate terrible liars. You can easily be with a woman a month in college and hit that number.
