QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 10:48 AM) Ordered a Droid HTC Incredible about a week ago, supposed to ship on 6/22. I'm psyched, the reviews look great. Currently have a Blackberry Curve on Verizon. Verizon has been good, other than the complete B.S. they pull with the GPS chip (which won't be an . But I grew tired of the BB RIM OS, plus its 3 years old and the phone is beat to s***. They arent as backordered as they tell you, my gf has already had two in the last few weeks. If you do to an independent store they prob have them in stock. IN Yorktown they get several a day.

I think we can now kill the internet myth that Greg Walker teaches "lift and pull". The only thing that killed was any thought that Walker fixed Rios's swing. I'd like to know who moved his hands down, because thats pretty much been the magic bullet.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) I think it may be that Minnesota/Wisconsin have played the most times in a row? I know its something because people always bring it up. The division would be great because Wisconsin would play OSU and Michigan every year. It may also be slightly more difficult, but any division that has OSU in it will be the more difficult one. They could have a rivalry game against Minnesota, where they play them every year, its not that difficult to make work. The division would be bad because itd be slightly harder in football. It also would not work for basketball, Purdue, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan state in the same division? Thats pretty rough haha. I only knew it wasnt th oldest because I lost money on a bet regarding this. I think its the longest continuous running one or something like that. Bball has to be taken into effect when splitting up the conference. Football is one thing, but the bball divisions have a chance to be REAL rough. -

QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) If that were to happen, I would hope Minnesota and Wisconsin would be in the same division, considering it's the oldest rivalry in college sports. How so? Michigan vs Notre Dame 1887 Cincy v Miami 1888 Army v Navy 1890 Minny v Wisco 1890 And thats just D1. In all of college football: Harvard v Yale 1875 Lafayette v Lehigh 1884 Amherst v Williams 1884 DePauw v Wabash 1890 I believe its one of the most played, but certainly not the oldest. -
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) One rumor making the rounds which does make a good deal of sense is doing a Versteeg, 30th pick, plus a guy like Skille for the 3rd overall pick from Florida, which I would be all for, and thats the type of deal Stan needs to be looking at. holy s*** that would be a great deal.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 12:25 PM) I would think trading a guy like Sharp or Versteeg/Byfuglien could net you a good goalie if it came to that. I'm torn on these guys though. I love Byfuglien, and would hate to see him go (even the other guys not to mention might be bad as far as merchandise sales.. I see alot of Sharp/Byfuglien jerseys here) Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets love Sharp (though they're will be more teams like Vancouver, San Jose, etc..) Edmonton likes Versteeg and the Devils like Campbell. (which would be heaven if the Hawks can move him/waive his no trade, though he is a good player.. just overpaid) Gonna be quite the interesting summer that's for sure. Out of all those guys, Sharp to me has the most value. Buff is a good player, good hands and a HUGE ass, but we have some serious grit coming up through our minors and we cant hold onto "goons" just because we like them. IMO, Vancouver would jump at the chance to sign BUff which would be hilarious.

Cleveland Plain Dealer's suggestion on splitting the Big Ten (12) into two divisions: IMO, the "Black" division is a much harder road. But its as even as possible. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:55 PM) You can't convince me that ND is making so much more merchandising revenue that it would cover the difference in TV revenue. Big Ten teams split $22 million last year. The NBC contract was reportedly $8 million. Add in bowl revenue and merchandising (though I do not think Big Ten merchandising is included in the $22 mil figure) and you still aren't there. Notre Dame is not joining the Big Ten right now for one reason and one reason only. It's ego. They have a big enough endowment that the added revenue from the Big Ten, while nice, isn't a necessity. At least not more so than their own perception of their worth as an independent. I was told ND gets 26 million dollars annually in merchandising because of owning their rights and not splitting the money. -
Trading Sharp would be a huge mistake. He is not only a team leader, but is a much needed scorer. Steeger and BUff could be gone instead.

Chest and Back. Holy f***, somehow cranked out 25 diamonds in the second rd. I set a goal of 15 and just kept pushing. Awesome.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:11 PM) Right. So now it's ALMOST as good as the PS3? Wait, not even close! You have the free online service, the bluray capability, and the whole RROD thing that they still havent' fixed, then add to that the fact that the 360 is graphically maxed right now while the PS3s graphical capabilities haven't even been remotely tapped. Keep trying. XBOX got kicked in the nuts by blu-ray if anything.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) As far as Notre Dame goes, their ego is the only thing keeping them from joining. Joining the Big Ten would give them more money than their NBC contract and there is nothing keeping them from the NBC contract until it expires. Notre Dame to the Big Ten makes sense to everybody but Notre Dame's ego. The Big Ten offered to stop at 12 if ND would join, but the Pac-10 stepping in courting Texas moved up the BT's timetable and forced them to take Nebraska now when ND wouldn't commit. Now, if the Big Ten goes east and plucks Rutgers and Syracuse (some see Syracuse as the key to get ND to perk up, but not sure why), then there will likely be further dominos fall. If the SEC adds A&M, they will likely want at least one more team. If they don't get Oklahoma, then the list of VA Tech, FSU, GA Tech, Miami, Clemson, etc opens up. If the SEC decides to go to a full 16, then the ACC has to do some major scrambling and raid the Big East, which would likely crumble. At that point, ND has no conference home for their other sports, which could make scheduling a nightmare. At that point, one would think ND would have to make a move. Going anywhere beside the Big Ten would simply be ego-driven. It could all happen fast or it could take a year for all the dominos fall and there are other possibilities, esp with the Mtn West and the remaining Big 12 schools. I'm not sure I'm going to like where the dust is going to settle when all is said and done, but the journey is certainly entertaining. Why is that the case? It's not TV revenues they want to protect, its merchandising. Right now ND owns all the rights to their merchandising without having to share it with a conference. Thats a ton of $$$$ -
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) Do you know if the Sox were actively shopping him, or just preparing to take calls? They were shopping him aggressively. From what I understand 2 factors kept him here: Ozzie, and the lack of a market.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) Heck, I'll point out that KW's worst move was unloading Swisher for nothing when his value was so low, and I always felt like Ozzie could have done a better job of dealing with Swisher on/off the field. If Ozzie's supposed to be a player's coach, then he has done a pretty job of creating a positive clubhouse environment with guys like Swisher, Cabrera, and Getz being run out of town cause they didn't fit in. He had to run those players out of town because Ozzie hated them. FWIW, I heard Oz made life very hard on Swish in the clubhouse and made the friction with old guard like JD and Konerko harder for him to deal with.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) How are you going to pay for the rest of Fukudome's contract? Beyond that, how do you think fans are going to deal with Carlos Quentin resurrecting his career on the other side of Chicago? The guy is struggling, but you can't trade Quentin without getting a high upside bat in return. Quentin for Alex Gordon is actually semi-reasonable, because Gordon can still be a great hitter in this league. Fukudome is never really going to be anything more than an .800 OPS bat. Fuk would immediately be one of our best OBP guys and the best leadoff hitter we could possible have while playing good defense. I would be all for it to replace Juan Pierre.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) does he want to fire Ozzie for trading for Teahen? For trading for Peavy? For trading for Pierre? Or for choosing not to bring back Thome? Out of those moves, the 2 that were KW may actually turn out ok. Peavy will be fine, Teahen actually started hitting when he got hurt. Pierre and Thome were Oz's and are terrible.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) Drunk is much different than actively drunk and drinking at a work function in front of two million people. Especially when their bosses market the team as a family friendly product. whats not family friendly about drinking? Kids dont understand the nuances of being drunk and they've probably seen their parents have a bud light or two. They werent blacked out and uncontrollably drunk whatsoever. I see nothing wrong with the way they acted at all. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 12:50 PM) He used to be a line drive machine too IMO, his hands are way too high in his stance. He seems to be dipping his back shoulder to compensate so he can pull his hands through faster and because of that is uppercutting everything. Not sure why he decided to hold them up right above his head, but it's not working.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) This. There is a big difference between partying like crazy after an achievement like this, being drunk at the parade, and actively drinking at the parade. I'd like to know how many people recall their parents being drunk when they were kids, because I'm very sure you dont understand being drunk until you are alot older anyway. I dont think the "role model" stuff applies to a guy drinking 3 beers at a parade. Oversensitivity is a little widespread here IMO. There have been several hockey teams, baseball teams etc that have had drinks while on TV and in front of people several times after winning a championship, its part of the world, people drink. -
QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 07:07 AM) I'd be all for sending Beckham and Quentin down but they can't. Quentin is completely lost and seems to be up there swinging hard at every pitch and hoping he hits it. Beckham at least seems to have some kind of approach at the plate even though he can't hit the ball with any authority. The sad thing is Jayson Nix is worse than both of them and his playing would have to increase if either were sent down. Not really having any other options sucks because like Ozzie says, the big leagues isn't a training ground, you're expected to produce. Heck, if those 2 were even just hvaing bad years, instead of downright dreadful, the Sox could be right in the mix with Minny. Along with many others, I keep thinking they are going to turn it around but after every glimpse of hope they go back into the toilet. Q is a pop up machine. His new stance and swing suck terribly.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) Why is everyone assuming he was so sloshed. He has a lisp. He wasn't slurring and stumbling over his words. Just being a silly 21 yr old. He wasn't stumbling around on the bus. He was carrying the trophy around with no problems. What the hell is the definition of sloshed? I get sloshed, and I can tell you I wouldnt have been able to speak like that, or hoist the cup. I would have been stumbling around needing people to help me catch my balance. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) He's not a good pitcher, that's what is with the "hate". Jenks had the K to win the game twice, and got f***ed on both of them. He pitched a great 9th that should have continued to lower his ERA.
