  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 05:57 PM) And there's the traditional single loss that winds up with SC beating the crap out of the big 10 team in the Rose Bowl. (The Rose Bowl isn't national championship this year is it?) LOL. Well the odds are it would be either PSU or OSU, both of which can beat SC. So not sure if you thought maybe Indiana would make the Rose Bowl?
  2. Is Georgia Tech always that boring to watch? I would be pissed watching that offense every saturday if I was a GT fan. They clearly shouldnt be ranked that high. That was a flat out beatdown.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 11:03 AM) IIRC they installed field heaters when Soldier Field was renovated Ah there you go. Field Turf when frozen is extremely painful. Those little rubber pellets start actually cutting your skin like a bunch of mini paper cuts. its horrible.
  4. "Surprise b****es, we are alive and it just blew your mind." "poop is funny" "pepe silvia"
  5. Top quality field turf is better than what most of us have played on. Still field turf is superior than grass for football since the ball isnt on the ground. The rub is that it needs to be a heated surface at Soldier Field because that s*** freezes and becomes worse than grass in the snow.
  6. The one across the streeet from me on madison isnt going anywhere, neither are the ones in LP. I think that the suburban ones have seen better days, but walkable city Blockbusters are still going strong. Mine is PACKED every day of the week.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 04:53 PM) His 10 yard pass to McKnight which turned into about a 23 yard pass, and his pass to McCoy for about 28 yards is s***. Totally agree. Anyways, I wouldn't be so proud of the Buckeyes if I were you. The Trojans have 4 new LB's, they lost 2 CB's, they have a freshman QB, and an average group of WR's besides Damian Williams. Are you trying to say that one pass was really impressive? So you are saying USC isnt the 3rd best team in the country? Where would you rank them then? I didnt realize you thought they were entirely pedestrian. I was very happy that OSU played the way they did after losing their entire LB core, both DB's, one of the best RB in the country and their veteran WR core who are all also in the NFL. Very proud indeed. If Tress didnt s*** down his leg, I would be even happier coming out of that game with a win.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 11:10 AM) Sorry, but the truth is, Pryor is the reason the Buckeyes lost last night as far as I'm concerned. Sure, the defense gave up the big drive late, and I know that is very, very important. But really, if you hold USC to 18 points in your house, you have to win the game. Period. And Pryor simply did not live up to the hype he had coming into Ohio State last night, and you have to play big and win games like that (especially at home) if you are really this 5 star, superstud prospect. And the youth excuse doesn't apply when the freshman QB on the other side of the field led his team 86 yards down the field to win the game when it was really needed. But it's ok because "everybody murders people, kills people, steals from you, steals from me". Nice quote, are you still not able to understand what he meant? its not really that hard to understand the concept of second chances. And why doesnt his age and experience factor into your expectations of the kid again? Because the QB across the field tossed 3 yard passes to a RB who carried his team to the win? Barkley didnt do s*** in that last drive, so not sure how his age affects the obvious lofty expectations you have for Pryor. Tressel killed his team in that game, absolutely fumbled the play calling as soon as they went ahead. This has been his downfall for YEARS. If you watched the game then you noticed Pryor has some throws he could make last year, and you also noticed that he made some youthful mistakes in a huge game against one of the best teams in the country. A game which you and just about every other person on this board thought would be a blowout. The one thing everyone should come out of that game knowing is that the young talent that OSU is recruiting is legit and is directly on par with what the top teams in the country have. By the end of the season, this young Buckeye team is going to be extremely dangerous, and even more so next season.
  9. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) i honestly think joe mckinght is the best player in college football...too bad musburger turned matt barkleys screen passes into elway vs. the browns.....barkley played slightly less s***ty than terrelle pryor who looked like a f***ing girl out there...god that was an awful awful performance from a guy who is supposed to be a legit heisman contender down the road....i hate USC with a burning passion, but the talent they get year after year is legit...without a doubt its the easiest school in the country to recruit to, but still pete carroll gets the most out of his talent, even if he is a douche amongst douches Yeah, what a girl. I mean the guy had the most yards of anyone that was on the field buy a good margin, but damn, what a girl. I mean, your unbiased opinion is so valuable its ridiculous.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 11:38 AM) I don't buy the Cubs comparison, because Notre Dame has a history of some sort. Like I said earlier, the Yankees would be the closest parallel, IMO. The only reason I dont like that is that Notre Dame isnt the richest program in the country, which is why alot of people hate the yankees. I also hate Notre Dame, but I WILL cheer for them once a year against UM.
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) Sweatin bullets is an understatement. Our season was almost over 50 minutes into the first game of the year. No way is our freshman backup ready to take on GT,VT and OU plus a game at UNC this year. You could tell Hightower was nervous warming up, the expression of relief on his face when they showed him the next series was priceless.
  12. Hey, why are two teams crossed out on the playoff bracket before the week ends?
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) JACORY M'FING HARRIS!!!!!!!!!!! Our pass defense sucks but I dont care right now. I know you were sweatin bullets when he went down holding his arm. That didnt look good at first.
  14. Wow, what a great game. The canes just keep coming back.
  15. NIce to see the hot ass FSU women are ready for this game. Gotta love the south.
  16. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) You make good points. I have not been to the Swamp, and I'd really love to. A few of my friends have said they might go, but if they don't, I don't want to go by myself. If I had friends for sure going, I'd definitely go. So I guess I was just thinking if I buy the ticket for myself and then people decide not to go, would I still be able to sell it? I have the ticket reserved until tomorrow, so I guess I'll be deciding soon. Dude, you have GOT to go. The money is a good thing and all, but that will be a game and a half.
  17. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 08:42 PM) How many people have you killed? Vince Young II. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4451405 "Not everybody is the perfect person in the world," Pryor said of Vick. "Everyone does -- kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me. I just feel that people need to give him a chance." HAHAH, god forbid a kid say people make mistakes and deserve second chances. The kid isnt a f***ing linguist but I'm sure 99 percent of people who read that article understood what he was trying to say. If he wasnt the #1 recruit and the QB of OSU, you probably wouldnt give a s***.
  18. Thank God we dont have to see another triple option team this season.
  19. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) is there a more overrated player in college than Pryor? LOL, you wish you had him.
  20. Wave goodbye to Beckham and every other young impact player we have if you want Felix.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 04:12 PM) He's got a Mike Piazza like stance. Real old school. He looked very patient up there. Good strike zone judgement IMO. His out was a good swing at the corret pitch to swing at. Those are good signs. I'd like to see him DH in this next series.
