  1. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Giambi. But how about we do not freak out over something we have no information about yet. they are calling that low strike, caled it twice to joe, i thought they were both ball
  2. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) He really, really, really misplayed a routine fly to LF. He broke in on it and it sailed over his head. Well, he decides to run directly into the wall and not only misses the ball, but injures his shoulder. dye puts himself in horrid position to make a throw, i suppose it didnt matter, he didnt have a shot at throwin him out anyways
  3. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) The worst part is this inning should of never happened. Uribe blew that play. SB agreed....everett looks more concussed than anything, hopefully the shoulder is ok, i think he jsut hit his head, which hopefully by tomororw will be ok
  4. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) The pitching may cool a bit but thats where the offense has to pick them up...hopefully hopefully being the operative word there
  5. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) You have to think about it this way, the Sox offense isn't really even clicking yet and they are still winning games... now think what its going to be like once they do start firing..... on the same token though, you have to expect the pitching to cool down too
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) Believe it or not, this is actually a good thing in my eyes. This team would not have won nearly as many games last year, with the same offensive results. They would be 2-6 or 1-7 if they had hit like this. Once the offense comes around this team could be real dangerous. yeah thats true, when you think about it, nobody has really been hot...carl maybe, but even if pods or someone hits .244 like he did last year, he will still go into streaks where you cant get him out for 3-4 games, and we havent really seen that from anyone yet, so hopefully those times will come, especially when we start to see guys like elarton and the detroit and KC pitching
  7. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) YASNY posted this in another thread... "Podsednik likely to sit until Friday Strained groin healing, but Guillen says Sox 'want to make sure'" Crazy Carl is playing the outfield?!? carl will be fine in theOF. hes a decent corner guy, he just doesnt have the speed to paly center, even though he played there alot for us in 03, still, now that he has shed some pounds, i would even put him as a slightly above average OFer
  8. I am worried about the fact that the sox are 4th from the bottom in batting average at .241, and dead last (by alot) in OBP with .265 (next closest cleveland at .289). What it tells me is that the Sox are scoring the men they get on base, which is good to see, but still .265 is pathetic. obviously uribe wont hit .130 and dye wont hit .190, but still im worried. Part of it may be due to the fact that we have already faced 3 of the top 4 AL leaders in ERA from last year (1. santana, 3. westbrook, 4. radke) and a pretty damn good pitcher in milwood twice. We haven't seen the pitching of teh devil rays rangers and other teams of that sort, but our pitchers also havent seen the bosox or yankees yet either (granted cle is a damn good offensive team). but once our hitters get going, what should we expect from them?
  9. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) YEAH SOX!! WAY TO GO!! hell of a job by the sox pen tonight, marte vizcaino and hermanson combining for 3.1 innings giving up just that hafner double
  10. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) 6 feet? That's a very tall wall and the ball wasn't even half way up. yeah it sure was more than 6 feet.....pop UP WHITE SOX WINNER
  11. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) he doesn't drop it but all it take is once. It takes no more effort to raise your other hand. It's just crappy style he's going for. Now I'm riled up! double off fence in left center for hafner
  12. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) crap! 3-1 the count against the dangerous hafner! SMOKESSS!!! hell of a pitchers pitch on the outside corner to make it 3-2
  13. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) please keep up the p-b-p you guys are better than statracker fly out to timo....2 outs
  14. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) I'm not nervous. Hermanson is solid. pop out 1 down
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) We go to the 9th Whoever comes in...YOU BEST f***ING CLOSE THE DOOR ON THIS b**** its the 10th inning
  16. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Did Pablo get hurt? no, when they went to the righty miller outa the pen, ozzie went to timo for the L and R matchup, and then they countered with rhodes
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) I thought A.J. came up short on his slide, and Boone tagged him out before he actually reached the base. i think you are right
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) That's my boy Uribe! shingotime? or does ozzie use hermie against the tribe
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Holy cow did we get lucky there. A.J.'s slide seemed to take forever. We need to get this run in here. yeah thats a good point
  20. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) yea we should, why dont they? crede you lucky SOB
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Good job by Vizcaino. I want to see the Juan Uribe of 2004 back. The same guy who would throw rockets over to first base and hit the ball hard on a consistent basis (he wouldn't be the first MLB player to stop working hard after receiving a big guaranteed contract). huge double by AJ.
  22. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Gordon. rick white
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) As I was adding relevant links to the Pick to Click site, I started adding some good Sox blogs to my list of stuff. I think I got most of the usual suspects, along with some good Sox related stuff, but if I missed your site, you would like to have your new site included, please let me know! 24. QUOTE(beck72 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) I'm one of those people who think Joe could post numbers like .270/.320/.465, with 20 HR's and 70 rbi's. Seeing how he's had to make some adjustments in his swing [pretty significant ones at that], and still boasted some good power numbers since late 2002 without those changes, if he works out the kinks he should be a very solid major league player. I know Joe Crede hasn't lived up to the hype [which, given his awards and numbers in the minors, maybe deserved at the time]. But count me among those who want to see this kid do well, especially as others start up the "dump Joe" chants. Whether Joe gets his act together this season, who knows. If he doesn't improve on his 2004 year, the sox should probably look for help at 3B. I just know Joe seems like a guy who should get more support than I've seen. He's a quiet professional who works hard, doesn't let his struggles at the plate affect his defense, and has the skills to help this team win a lot of games in 2005. With that said, count me as the first member of the "Joe Crede Support Group". Meetings are on an "as needed" basis [probably after an 0-4 day with 3 k's and an error in the field, or multiple "Crede sucks" threads]. And members should refrain from saying "I told you so" to non-members if Joe has a break out year. So who's with me? count me in
