over under on # of times Hawk refers to Dunn as "country strong" throughout the season ill say 30

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Westbrook is also the #2 guy on his team. That makes it a lot easier for him, where as Rose is THE guy in Chicago. no doubt....Rose is always guarded by the other teams top defender + another guy .....westbrook has another guy on the court commanding double teams and the teams top defender

asik is going to get a tech for hanging on the rim sooner or later

last 2 or 3 episodes of boardwalk empire have been fantastic IMO

went to college there....lots to do, especially if you like country music... Hotels: you can stay at the Opryland Hotel, but its a good 20 dollar+ cab ride from downtown, and its pricey. However it is an impressive Vegas style hotel, but more wholesome. Never went there during Christmas season, but its supposeldy AMAZING, and probably worth going to even if you don't stay there. Places downtown are good and close to the night life, like the Renaissance, Sheraton, double tree. Other cheaper ones are bit farther out but are still nice, like the hampton or holiday inns on west end. Food: the aforementioned loveless cafe is a really popular, southern style breakfast (never been there for anythign but breakfast) and is decent, but its a good 20 min drive out of the city. Everyone will tell you Pancake pantry in hillsboro village is the best breakfast in town, but I disagree strongly (not to mention 1 hour + wait on weekends). Best breakfast I came across was Noshville on Broadway -its a new york style deli. The BBQ in nashville is frankly overrated, nothing like Memphis or Birmingham. Jacks is the most popular place, right in the heart of the city on lower Broadway...its pretty solid, but nothing thats going to blow your socks off. If you want a true southern eating experience, Monells is old fashioned fried chicken, sides and sweet tea. Its a cool experience because the restaurant is actually in the owners house and everything is family style. Rotier's is a dumpy burger joint, but its a place Jimmy Buffet used to frequent and legend has it was one of a handful of Burger joints that inspired "Cheeseburger in Paradise." Never been to the Gersthaus, but its authentic German and supposed to be really good. In addition there are all sorts of Bar/Grills that are great...Southstreet, Jacksons, Sportsmans are all close to the Vandy campus and will likely have alot of college kids there, so id stay away if thats not your scene. One of the surprises in the Nashville food scene was the quality of Mexican food. Las palmas, fiesta azteca, and if you are adventerous and want to journey to little mexico, La Hacienda are all really good IMO. Nightlife: Lower Broadway is littered with honkey tonk bars, the Stage, Tootsies, Legends, etc are all literally one right after another. it basically continues from there onto 2nd avenue where you have Coyote ugly, buffalo billiards, and a few other more club type places. Demonbraun street has a bunch of popular bars that a bit less toursity, but will draw more college kids like Tin Roof, Dan Mcguinees. Hillsboro village is the same way, with Cabana, Jacksons and sportsmans, but all are pretty cool bars. If you want to catch a game at a sports bar Sams sports bar is my favorite place on the planet.

good lord...the bulls have made so many turnovers starting the break this year...teams are playing those passing lanes so well....seems like we should be bale to adjust

just got back from the game....a couple things...that woman ref missed at least 4 calls in the first half alone...she was terrible Rose horrendous defensively, unstoppable offensively. no doubt thibadeau was trying to send a message, though i don't agree with it . Unfortunately for some dumb f***ing reason he sat Taj (who had a great 1st 8 minutes) and played Scalarbine for like 7 straight horrendously played minutes in the second. Thibs is to Scalabrine as what Ozzie is to Kotsay it appears. Also, I have no idea why ronnie brewer isn't starting. I understand Thibs likes Bogans D, but brewer is no slouch defensively oh and 16 of 23 on threes is absurd....most teams in the league wont shoot that well all year

FWIW (which is probably very little given the source) David Kaplan said on chicago tribune live that he has a very reliable source who has very intricate knowledge of the Bears clubhouse, and said that he would be surprised if Cutler makes it through the year without getting knocked out by one of his teammates. that is how much people hate him. I certainly wouldn't doubt it though...Cutler is a grade A douche

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 08:20 AM) I felt pretty dirty cheering for them. i did too at first, but frankly...thats a good team that plays the right way. And, while yes pierce is tough to cheer for, but KG (while annoying) and Ray Allen seem genuinely like good guys. Plus its hard not to absolutely love Shaq

the players are really refraining from complaining to the officials....it appears as if the new technical rules are having quite and effect

annnd they are right back in this

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 07:18 PM) Heat Index: Ice Cold there is absolutely 0 inside presence on this heat team offensively

very bizarre episode of boardwalk empire last night ....anyone want to explain to me what the prohibition agent was doing beating the s*** out of himself with a belt to margarets picture?? some sort of psychosexual david carradine s*** or something???? the jimmy - al dynamic is awesome....the actors that play those 2 guys and the guy who plays said prohibition agent are phenomenal
-
im so sick of that piece of s*** cutler....that f***ing tool douche was the exact same whiny b**** in college as he is now...horrendous decision maker, questionable accuracy, and arguably the worst leader on the field...
-
f*** you piece of s*** cutler
-
idonije was a yard and a half offsides there MORONS
-
how bout a goddamn double move on the next drive...pump the slant with knox and let him destroy hall down the field

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) This game has been crazy...he was very close to being down there. yeah i just went back frame by frame with DVR. ...ball was out about 2 frames before his knee hit

finally a break

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) I'm sorry, but blaming that first interception 100% on Hester is so wrong. It was a good ready by Hall, and I'm not completely sure how Hester could have broken up the play. The amount of excuses made for Cutler baffle me. He played a great 2nd quarter and was playing great up until the reviewed Bennett play, but 3 turnovers in a span of 10 plays = disaster in my opinion. i agree with this...that pick was not entirely on hester at all....could he have broken the play up? probably...but cutler telegraphed the throw enough to let hall jump the route ARE YOU f***ING JOKING ME RIGHT NOW FORTE
-
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) Oh shutup, That was just a dumb dumb mistake by Cutler had nothing to do with the play before. agreed...he floated a ball just like that to olsen about 4 minutes earlier and got lucky nobody was there to pick it
-
how many ways can you blow a game here 1.) challenge a play bennett was clearly down on 2.) not challenge a play that was clearly a TD 3.) fumble said play 4.) Throw a pick in washington territory 5.) throw a pick 6 on the washington 10 yard line In addition you had a pick 6 taken back by a stupid delay of game penalty ....ugh
