How old were your parents when they got married? Did the men like the women inexperienced? I hope that doesn't give you any sick images of you mother and father's early relationship, but just trying to learn a little about the world. Old Europe is definately patriarchial as you may very well know, so men definately like their women young. Not that this phenomenon is unique, mind you. Why would my mother bang guys her age when my father was the handsome president of the local tennis country club when they met, an excellent player, a great all around guy from a well-known "nouve riche aristocratic" family with a ton of friends and connections? Even for me it's a no brainer, she didn't have to be a golddigger to be swept off her feet

20 and 19 My father is 11 years older and my uncle is 12. That generation of European women always liked their men experienced and sophisticated. American women are more superficial and youth-obcessed. Or so I heard. AFA Demi: she is a spotlight vampire, don't base ANYTHING on her. ever.

Jose can bunt, he is 6 for 7 this season. That's good.
-
I have been a die-hard Sox fan all the way since 1998 and I LOVE Frank Thomas when he is hitting. But then agan I love Black people, so i may be biased.
-
I saw him hit 93-94 regularly on the WGN radar gun back in 2001 when it was apparent he was injured. I believe like Garland, he could get it up to 95 when needed when healthy. Too bad we may never know. Labrum, yeah. The key with him is his control- as yuo know if you fall behind 3-0 and have to lay one in there, it doesn't matter if it's 92 or 94 it's gonna get hit. Hard....On the other hand, if his slider and change are solid and the hitters have to contrantly remember his (formerly) deadly curve, even a 92mph fastall will seem like its 97 coming from that 6'11'' frame of his. As far as 1-2 thing goes, with Burle, Colon, Garland and Loaiza, all we need is someone to remind Wright that every time he hangs his curve or tries to f***ing nibble, it's has ass that;s on the line...and I don't think Cotts, Pacheco or Diaz are gonna do that until 2005 if ever. What's your take on Gload and Harris?
-
It's a hunch, take it or leave it.

I never did well in school over there either, but unlike you, I completely agree with a "bald nerd dude" in that I am not very smart. I heard ACTs are easier than SAT, but it's the merciless time limit that trips most people up. Anythng above 27 is considered to be "very good".
-
I want him back as well, very much so...but he ain't comin. RIP
-
1. Willie isn;t missing a beat, is he? 2. What's up with Gload? He is a former Cubbie Kieshniekite, correct? 3. Is Rauch's fastball back in 92-95 range? How is his curve? Slider? Change? Thanks.

I dont like him. He is too quick too accuse everyone but himself. But as long as you stay away from frank, I could care less about Val... Yeah yeah yeah...when stats and facts don't support your idiotic claims, you suddenly profess indifference and switch over to 'off-field' ..typical.
-
Roman....If Val's 3-year OPS while with the Sox is 820, whic is "very good" for a shortstop. His RBI/ab ratio is also very good for a 2-spot hitter and so were his RISP numbers up until this season means he "sucks" in your little vocabulary, then so be it. I certainly can't/don't care enough to do anything about it. Stay ignorant forever for all I care. Just keep me laughing is all I ask.

........yeah until you have a guy with a mediocre arm, poor release and/or no positioning skills (your Jimenezi, Claytons, Graffaninos, Guzmans and dozens of others) who CAN'T turn those precious DPs...and then you have a TON of extra runners/outs that translate into many runs given up and losses over the long season...you do know what "runs surrendered" and "losses piled up" mean, don't you? Nice try, lose again.
-
Ok, so my web site didn't update a couple of homers Frank hit in the last few days...Even so considering the 120 point difference in OBP, do you not see something wrong (or right depending on the POV) in that tiny difference? Since you were stupid enough to start comparing a "bum" to a HOF player to prove the former's worthlessness...I guess not. You'd be better off comparing Val to Rios, DJ, Crede, Konerko, Daubach, Rowand, Konerko, etc ALL-AROUND...Sere what I mean?
-
Bunting is another thankless artform that is not easily replaceable//teachable and could be the difference between winning a losing. Guess who is our best bunter %-wise?
-
When did I say he was? All said was that he makes the most of his 300 OBP and facts back this up. I would argue that 315 OBP for Jose is equavalent to 350 for slow/stupid players like Crede, Rios, Thomas, Konerko, Alomar, Daubach, etc since they are pretty much stattion to station and get bad jumps... Comprehension problems? Bleh.

Here is a 3 week breakdown: Tigers- should have won 2, instead lost 2 (- 1 differential) Toronto - 2/2 (0) Indians - 2/3 (-2) D-backs - 2/2 (-1) LA - 3/1 (-1) SF - 2/2 (-1) SD - 3/1 (-1) As you can clearly see, Sox lost a whopping 7 "very winnable" games in the span of only 3 weeks. How sad, this is beyond underachieving, no word for this debacle really.

Val sucks. Other people think that way too. A .230 BA, with 9 HRs and 24 RBIs just isnt that good in June. And this guys basis is power. Either hit .300 with 9 HRs, or his .230 with 15 HRs. Dont hit .230 with 9 HRs, thats just mediocre... That's for proving once again that you know NOTHING about baseball. Not run to your mommy and have her explain to you--AGAIN--just how useless homer totals and batting average are....MOMO. Yet again, I could care less about baserunning skills. And do I need to tell you again? Baserunning skills dont mean crap when you have a .314 BA!!!!!!!!!!!!! What part of Wrong again- Val's 3-year OPS while with the Sox is 820, whic is "very good" for a shortstop. His RBI/ab ratio is also very good for a 2-spot hitter and so were his RISP numbers up until this season don't you understand Roman? What part of Valentin has more runs scored than your precious Frank Thomas don't you get? He must be dong something right OB to be able to do that without a good OBP? What part of he is 5th in all of BASEBALL in DP turned per innings played at SS do you not understand? What part of his ZoneRating is 6th in ALL of baseball do you not get? And so on.

Kong you miserable no-good twat!

Brando, for a player to run on the bases he needs to get on base and so far Jose is 0-2 and his OBP on the season is mediocre... Agreed...but it's what you do ONCE you are OB--if his 31 runs scored are any indication, despite his low OBP, he is VERY effective once he gets on....whereas Frank is so easy to double up, never advances anywhere...it's true that at 980 OPS Frank is better than Jose at 760, but if Jose gets within 100 OPS-wise, adding a huge difference in defense and contract worth, and we are takng about them being much closer than you think in terms of value... Tell me though, why would you compare Val to a future HOF if my original point had to do only with Sox f***ing up two great base-running opportunities?
-
I was? I thought I said his season is pretty mediocre just the other post....What I do know for sure is that he would have scored on that singles and would have advanced from second on Olivo's FO, he certainly advanced on a 2B friggin' pop up in the 1st, didn't he? Some aournd here seem to be underappreciative of "thankless little things" Val and Carlos have been doing on base-paths all season long and think great instincts are easily replaceable/don't amount to much. hmm....but since you asked...when Frank cools down and his OPS slides into 800's and Valentin gets on a hot streak and raises his to 800-ish....there will indeed be no doubt about who is better since Val runs and plays defense INFINITELY better than Frank the Hall of Famer if you must compare.... Sorry, I don't suffer stupid f***ing mimbo-wannabes who can't read lightly. No offesne.
-
Frank can't run, Valentin makes things happen...Frank can't play SS, Valentin is above-average this season...760 OPS, which by the way will be at 800 by seaon's end, is still above average/solid for a SS, check Tejada's, Vizquel, Jeter, Guzman, A-Gon, Berroa, Enfante, etc for more... Why would you compare him to Frank anyway, dickless HS momo you? Who said Valentin was the best player on this team? I know I didn't.
-
Please don't tell me Rowand did NOT advance from 2nd and ZERO out on the warning track FO that CF'er had to basketcatch....please tell me i am dreaming and a HUGE situaitonal f***up did not occur Yeah, those base-advancing skills are dime and dozen...
