Oh s*** I thought you were Big_Hurt391! I was close, wasn't I?

You lose all baseball credibility when you support Palestinezakhstan. You Dumas.

that is all probably very true I listened to the SCORE on the way home and the dude was whipping people up in an attack MB mode and I suspect it is very easy to do that now for exactly the reasons that you state it was hard to sity in the stands last night and see us get blown out in the first inning - especially with 2 out and a hit that to me could have been an error and whatever, if the paly si amde, out of the inning. However... and the offesne being what it is, you know a 4 run deficit is almost impossible for this team to overcome. The fact that we had 1 hit - 1 lousy hit - until what, the 8th inning and that hit by Rios of all people - people were disgruntled against everything and everyone and MB was the focal point when he was taken out - people thought the prior 3 games meant we turned a corner and then suddenly down 4-0 - go hitless - 8-0 - stay hitless - it was not pleasant to watch. I was always sceptical about whether Mark has what it takes to be #1. To me, he just doesn't have your typical ace looks-- he is more of an overweight 12yo crossdresser with clip-on 'burns. In my world, a leader of the team wouldn't be as ugly as MB. I literally have to turn away when they do closeups. NFL helmet. Pronto.

See, me personally always fancied the 8-packer. The 4 one is very selfish in it's nature.

So what's your point? As a Texas Lit major, you should now of all people.

Alterity, first you need to get permission to post here. What are your credentials?

When Glover first came up in 2001, this is what he brought to the table: -Fastball 93-95mph, with movement, plus a servieable sinker. -Huge, unhittable near 12-6 curve -Solid slider -Good control for a tall youngster, poise and the ability to pitch out of trouble which can't be taught. After Nardi worked him over for almost 2 years and after JM decided to use him as a starter, this is the new Gary: -Fastball 89-91, straight, no sinker -Curveball merely ok -Slider also ok, underused, like curve no longer an out pitch -Anti-clutch: allows inhereited runs to score EVERY time he comes in -Scared puppy look Thanks Sox for turning a real steal into a nootered AAAA'er. I can bet you anything if Sox trade Glove to a team with real pitching coach, he will be better than Biddle. He's healthy too.

Trust me the radar is just fine- both Buerhle and a SF reliver threw the usual 88 and 93 respectively. Sorry but the plain ugly truth that our hitters are in such a deep mentalfunk, even most mediocre of pitchers let them get themselves out. The rule is: lay/fight off pitcher's pitches and jump all over mistakes. What do Sox do? Just the opposite. That LA win was one of the few exceptions- Sox hitters mercilessly crushed anything in the zone and made pitchers earn the outs...kinda like they did in 2000 That's not what Hawk said a couple weeks ago watching Bartolo pitch. The gun kept reading 94 and Hawk said the gun at the ballpark was reading 99. There is something wrong with Fox Sports Net's Radar gun, on Fox Saturday baseball people continue to e-mail Joe Buck asking when are they going to fix their radar gun. CWSOX45 Exactly. FSN is wrong. The one in the park is right. Would that be theComiskey radar that clocked Baldwin at 96, Garland at 97 and Colon at 102....?

Farmio and Rooney were talking about Foppert's fastball tonight... saying he hides it so well in his delivery that it has the effect of a 96-er by the time the guys pick it up out of his hand. 87mph is still 87mph, something about laws of physics and optics. This is BIG leagues folkes, of course pitchers will be masterful at deception and tricky release points. No excuses, especially not for young "stars" Maggs and Carlos, both had no idea what they were swing at, constantly falling off balance. Ugly.

88 on the FOX radar = 86. He topped out at 90. He got Maggs on 3 pathetic, 86-87 fastballs right there in 1st inning. I don't care if Floppert's fingers are a foot long and a deceptive release point, absolutely no excuse for not putting one of the them in the seats. Crucial game too. Too bad our little morons cannot recognize s*** so they have to wait literally until the last split-second before moving the bat, which doesn;t work unless you have superquick hands and short swing. Or else they have to cheat. Either way, that game in LA was one of the few ones where or hitters actullly jumped on mistakes, maybe they just stole signs well that day
-
A sub-90mph heater in the zone is to be JUMPED ALL OVER and not to be waited back on...unless you have Bonds-ian quickness, which you don't. Like Lidle before him, Floppert is looking very mediocre tonight and his strikeouts are just another testament to how cluless our hitters are. Zero discipline, zero adjustements, zero eye, zero clutchness. All but Thomas and Daubach, and those two slowasses ain't exactly gonna hurt anyone with their 2-out walks. Fastball hitters like Lee and Maggs repaetedly blown away by 86mph fastballs? Who the f*** are we kidding here! Greg Walker should be gone tommorrow and join that other bum Gary Ward. Sick and tired at this pathetic excuse for major league hitters.

My favorite Sox player, shocking as it may be, is Manos. Olivo Jimenez Lee Garland Marte Magglio Burly Frank Harris Konerko round off my my Top 11 favorite Sox Players list.

Didn't say they were intelligent. Said they had brains. I didn't say they weren't intelligent....just that the Academy members either have no taste/talent recognition or are just greedy little complacent lemmings sucking off the Industry. Or both. (Oscars are fun. Just don't expect it to be about merit or art or whatever. Enjoy it for what is- the Superbowl of Celebritydom, only with bigger audience)

Yes and that's why Beautiful Mind, Julia Roberts and Kim Bessinger all have OSCARs....while Scorsese, Kubrick, Altman, Ed Harris, Julianne Moore and Ellen Burstyn do not. Well, Ellen has one, but she should have two, lol Brains, riiiight...

Excertps from TV Guide review which supposedly gave it 2 stars: A "life-affirming" tale about life imprisonment, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION is the kind of old-fashioned entertainment that is easily overvalued in an era of diminishing expectations. This reverent adaptation of an unremarkable 1982 Stephen King novella was received tepidly at the box office--due in part to advertising that offered no clue as to what the movie was about--but gained a remarkably enthusiastic following and surprised many by netting seven Oscar nominations... ......Whereas some Stephen King adapters have seemed intent on transcending or trashing their source material, writer-director Frank Darabont succeeds through fidelity to the text; the few deviations make this subdued male love story even more audience-friendly. The film benefits greatly from elegant cinematography by Roger Deakins and a poignant score by Thomas Newman. Freeman creates an endearing portrait of a decent man with a dark deed in his past, and Tim Robbins gives what may be his most accomplished portrayal. The excellent supporting cast includes James Whitmore, cute as the dickens as old-timer Brooks Hatlen, and William Sadler as a con who starts out scary and ends up lovable.... ...Which brings us to the film's greatest limitation: prison hasn't looked this inviting since 1940s Hollywood. Nothing seems to build character like a long stint at Shawshank, which on the whole seems not much worse than a downmarket summer camp. This makes for a crowd-pleasing story that has little to do with the messy complexities of reality. It got 3.5 stars out of 5 which translates to "very good". Excellent not to mention great it is not...unless you are that big a fan of King or Robbins. I do love the movie though. That ending sucks ass, however, absolutely false and unneccesary crowd-pandering. JMO.

Without the s***ty, tacked-on ending, it's a 4 and half star movie. With it, 4 out of 5 is the best it could ever hope for. It ain't THAT original, poignant, compelling or whatever. Be objective for once. Windtalkers? Deeply mediocre. Men of Honor? Ditto, transparently recycled shclock.... Pearl Harbor deserves it's spot in the Terrible Movies Hall of Fame. 2.5 hours of my life I will never get back; hacks like Ben Smirkfleck and Kate "5 plastic surgeries before 25" Beckinsale didnt help and neither did the stupid music video brat Michal Bay. f***e em all. You want good war movies? Apocalypse Now, Three Kings, Deer Hunter and Thin Red Line would be a start. Quite American wasn't bad at all...But thene again those flicks weren't made for stupid teenagers like Roman, so who knows... BMR, you silly, if you prefer to "enjoy" them on the simplest motor level, you it's your business...but I want movies that are original, dynamic, either intellectually or emotionally stimulating, true, thrilling....all in one if possible. Not everything should be about escapist, lowest common denominator, cartoonish characters and absurt plot gimmicks-driven crap that comprises 90% Hollywood output. Some of us actually have a soul, heart, brain and personality to be able to enjoy "art" and "talent" and "inspired cinematic ideas" and other lofty concepts.....We don't have to like the same things, as if we could, but at some point reasonable people reach a consensus: Freddy Got Findered sucks and so do Vanilla Sky and MIB:2. As far as "enjoying" part goes...I bet you anything I've had more pure, spontaneous fun watching City of God with my friends than you did 10 Armageddons or Fast and the Furious combined...

1. His fastball is much better than Foulke's 2. His curvebal is much better than Foulke's 3. His slider is much better than Foulke's. 4. Foulke is way more sound both mechanically and mentally....but Koch is only 28 so if he ever makes that one tiny adjustement to keep his release slot more consistent, his walks would go down dramatically and he would basically be unhittable. And, yeah, this year Foulke has been as good as anybody in AL.

LMAO....The key word is "reciprocate". Look into it.

You're 21?! Hell, I thoughts you was SS2k3/B-Joe/HSC's age...smart fella.
