  1. I have a feeling they will. If Willie continues to build on this (I doubt it), then it just forces Rowand to be that much better in CF. I have no problem with Rowand/Willie in CF, Jose at SS and Uribe at 2B as long as they don't cost more than 3 Mill all together.
  2. Let's if he can do it for 30 innings. 12+ is not enough.
  3. Hey, me and you both -- some of the self-involved no-Godniks on this board sure do creep me out, too I am just thankful that you deem it "ok" for me not to "grasp" something. I feel truly privileged to have been able to bask in your awe-inspiring wisdom and cool. Thank you from the bottom of my hollow, sinful heart.
  4. What can I say, we can't all be as spiritually sofistimacated as you.
  5. Godzilla > NT Reminds me of that whole comparing to other golfers by height bit....LMAO
  6. Aww, is that cute or what!
  7. First of all, there is no way to know if this is serious. Secondly.....There is NO way Jim Hendry concedes the season, not with such high financial expectations (Wriggleymania), not with a 95 Mill payroll team, not with his ego. Prior is coming back. If they lose Wood, they will get Washburn or Perez or maybe even one of the Oakland Trio -- Hudson perhaps? Sure, it will cost them Guzman/Beltran and Cisco/Brownlie, but when your team is on the World Series mission and you have the money, you don't care so much about the prospects. True, they might not catch the Astros (then again, Clemens, Biggio, Bagwell are old and could succumb to injuries very easily), but there is this thing called WILD CARD -- who's gonna stop them, Dodgers? Braves? If Wood is down AND Prior is out until July....then they have a hill to climb, no doubt. Still, with their talent it's doable.
  8. Which is why Manuel was very smart not to let Loaiza, Buerhle and Garland throw more than 100-105 pitches -- not only because Garland falls apart after 6 but also because modern pitchers have fragile arms, no way around it. Dusty Baker meanwhile tourinely allowed Prior, Clement, Zambrano and Wood throw 110-120 pitches, with a few 130+ games mixed in. And they are POWER throwers and sharp breakers onlike the Sox starters, so it's even worse. Hopefully Ozzie is not that stupid.
  9. Nope, can't do. Ben Christensen or Pete Rose? Sure. Wood may be a lil petulant sometimes, but ultimately I think he is a good guy. His "I choked" comments last October were great. He carried his team on his back through the playoffs, so he of all people earned the right to have an off day. You'd never hear Shammy say anything like that, but Wood he took it like a man. Respect.
  10. Tue GoG: Carlos Lee Willie and Maggs had really nice plays as well.
  11. Wite, there are a 1000 posters on this site. NO point in "educating" them one by one. Been there, done that -- won't have any effect on the "error" crowd, their minds are made up Just let it go.
  12. Burly-Mon pitched like a front-line pitcher today for a change, against a really solid offense no less. Kudos. Let's hope it's a sign of good things to come. He is a huge part of this team
  13. Now there's someone who's overrated and overpaid. Sox won't be in the running for him because paying 7-8 Mill a year for a player who isn't worth it is not exactly how the Sox roll.
  14. Now why should I believe you, little buddy? Overpaid? Yes. Overrated? Not a chance. Quiet the opposite actually -- read the boards or listen to the radio sometimes, you'll know who the Soxdom Enemy #3 (behind Koch and Konerko) is.
  15. No, it won't subside until Sox are as a big a money-maker as the Cubs and forces of racism/classism abate.
  16. And? I think you need to fill up on his coolness in that fine piece of homoeroticism known as the 1st half of Fight Club. Or better yet, stop using 'cool' as an epithet. Or, ever comparing that sand-chewing hole of Suck known as Brad Pitt to a solid actor/epic lead as Russel Crowe. LMAO.
  17. I wonder if actual scouts post on this site.
  18. I didn't ask a question. And word to the wise.....CW is not just some literalist schmuck when it comes to understanding of the Scriptures and the greater Theology. You're definately WAY over your head on this one.
  19. - Signed, Biggest Lie Ever Told On the SouthSide.
  20. -Vlad Guerrero was simply unaffordable when you consider that DISK problems are very serious. Not when you have Sweeney/Anderson/Reed, esp. -Javy Lopez -- Miguel Olivo is playing almost as well while making a fraction of his salary. -LaTroy Hawkins - who knew he'd give the Cubs a discount? Sox had too many holes that needed to be filled to pay that kind of money to a set-up man -- we already have Marte and Shingo, remember? Willie is kicking his ass so far in EVERY department, and is doing so on 300K. Get over it. Listen......if you want to play Fantasy Baseball with JR's money, go ahead. I prefer to stay in REALITY.
  21. It's not bulls***; it's called BASEBALL REALITY, Izzle. It doesn't matter whether Sox have or don't have the money.....The budget is SET, so you have to operate within that limit, maximing the dollar/performance ratio as best you can. Now you can either overpay for a couple of bums like Colon and have NO chance at the playoffs.....or you can be smart, take some risks on youngsters and if they pay off, maybe do some damage. Update on potential Sox...... Colon (almost 13 Mill per): 4.10 ERA....loss of velocity. Ponson (8): 6.25 ERA O. Cabrera (6): 663 OPS Castillo (6): 594 OPS Matsui (6): 684 OPS...overrated base-running and defense Aurillia (4): 546 OPS....can't run Everett (3.5): 681 OPS...bad defense, not much speed. Rollins (3): 568 OPS Sullivan (2.5): 4.97 ERA Robbie (1): 623 OPS...declined defense and speed.
  22. Huh, "poor Danny"? This c*cks*cker was one of the Four Whoresmen of Doom (Wright, White, Koch and Konerko) who singlehandedly destroyed a very special, history-loaded 2003 season. He then rewarded Sox confidence with 4 more losses in April of this year -- you'll remember those should Sox miss the postseason by a game or two. Too bad you're not allowed to hurl rotten fruit and assorted pieces of garage sale furniture from the bleachers at the Cell
  23. So what, now we should grossely overpay for the Tub-o-Two and cripple this team's financial flexibility even more? I'd rather have Diaz, Rauch, Cokks or Munoz at 300K and spend the big bucks on someone whose labrum is worth a damn. I guess you'd rather have Kaz Matsui over Uribe and Luis Castillo over Willie Harris too, right? Howe about Bartolo Colon over Schoenweiss?
  24. Don't you love it when friendships are broken over silliest of s***?
