  1. Could be true but if the primary hitters in this lineup don't start hitting, acquiring one hitter won't make a difference.
  2. With the way this offense is going? They couldn't even move Sheets from second with no outs in the 10th.
  3. And lose in 9 if he doesn't have the great base running play to score on the run down. His good and bad play was a wash for runs today.
  4. Of course it is but they have to go into a slump sometime and lose 20 more games because all teams win 60 and lose 60.
  5. This is perfect. Go through the slump now. Get hot at the end of the season and playoffs. Better to have the slump now than at the end of the season.
  6. Dang pessimism reaching a new low. They are winning good you need to attack the World Series team.
  7. With back to back ones, it's just like two inning outings due to the decreased rest.
  8. Instead of increasing the number of innings in a single outing, they are doing back to back days. Another way to increase the endurance.
  9. You are correct. The good players need to carry the team. They are not.
  10. If Anderson, abreu, Jimenez and moncada aren't hitting, a replacement 2B isn't going to make a difference.
  11. you watched the Cubs that closely? You may need to be banned! ?
  12. It would be a reliever not a starter.
  13. It depends on the pitcher but I would agree with the other poster that the bullpen is the greater need for the playoffs as I'm pretty sure they can make it with the current roster.
  14. I would disagree depending on the pitcher of course. If it is an impact reliever there will be more than 15 innings including the playoffs. Also those innings if there are in high leverage situation are much more important than many of the AB's from the 2B. It's not just the amount of time that stats like WAR count, it's also the importance of the situation that counts. An impact reliver will have a greater impact on this team's playoff success.
  15. He's 23 with a better than 3/1 K/BB. Young with a lot if potential and MLB experience. He's a nice piece to get for Marte.
  16. It's the same problem. However the are 3 basic causes if the problem. It can be a first rib mobility issue. It can be an impingement in the neck. It can be an impingement near the shoulder with the pen minor under the corcoid process. Just depends on where the impingement is occurring so while it's the same problem could be a very different issue and surgery.
  17. Yeah. That's a tough one. Depends on if it's in the neck or shoulder. The shoulder is the easier if the 2.
  18. It's not so bad if Robert is back to himself again.
  19. Agreed. I just don't think the Sox should give up enough of their resources to make 3 deals. That's why I wouldn't trade for a 2B unless it was really cheap.
  20. Refusing to participate in the pre-draft medicals and MRI should have been a clue.
  21. That is an awful OF defense. Should put Sheets in RF and DH Vaughn to really make it a circus.
  22. It's tough to say. Any muscle injury like that, increases the chance it will be injured again. However the mechanism of this injury was a fluke as he tripped right before the bag and tried to stretch for the bag.
  23. This could be the confounding variable. We will need to see what the eventual deal is.
