  1. I agree. This loss shouldn't change much but this is a tough schedule in June. I dont forsee a good record at the end of June.
  2. The interviewer asked him what percentage was physical/mechanical changes and what percentage was mental. He replied the difference from last year was 90+ percent mental. I thought you said in the other interview he said the primary difference was physical with the delivery change.
  3. I wonder why he changed his story?
  4. I'm just reporting what Giolito said. I have no inside information on the situation.
  5. In a radio interview today Giolito gave credit to Cooper, Hasler and his high school coach. Primarily Cooper and Hasler as they work with mentally everyday. He said his problems last year were 90+ percent mental.
  6. They have those. What they don't have is the money to spend on better nutrition and high end workout facilities.
  7. HS pitchers may lose velocity in the s 2nd or 3rd year in the minors but usually regain and improve upon it. Velocity didn't ever increase for him.
  8. I think your logic goes against your conclusion. Jimenez physical abilities got him through the minors but when he hit the MLB, he needed to learn adjustments and the league. These are things he couldn't learn in the minors. He needs to adjust at the MLB level. The same will apply to Robert. Extra time in the minors will not teach the adjustments needed at the MLB level. The competition is just better. He needs to move up a level once he adjusts and learns at that level.
  9. It makes more sense to draft HS pitchers in recent years. MLB clubs can build their own plan and monitor the pitchers workload. They may end up being less of a risk in the long run.
  10. I like the motion. Much better than sine of their recent high draft picks.
  11. The OPS is close and Thomas had the big advantage of pitchers using a shorter mound.
  12. Not when it applies to last years draft and has no bearing on this years.
  13. Reading is a skill.
  14. I've got all I need.
  15. It's a good thing you mentioned last years draft pick during this years draft discussion. I was waiting to hear an opinion on him in this thread.
  16. with the chemical enhancements?
  17. But you can't predict injuries. You get them on what you think is the appropriate timeline and stick to it. In hindsight it would have been better but developmentally it was the right time as it will be with Cease.
  18. what did they screw up with kopech? he was an appropriate development timeline. the same timeline they will use for Cease this year.
  19. agreed. unless there are rumors about changes in the CBA related to this.
  20. sure it does. it would take them from the 10 pick to the 22 pick and still not make the playoffs. the team is not good enough to do anything this year. so why waste good draft position next year. this is assuming it only a one year deal
  21. nor should it be. unless it's for at least a 3 year deal it's not good for the Sox.
  22. interesting that one of the biggest changes is that he is throwing the fastball a lot less and the change up much more
  23. think how good he could be if the Sox could develop players! ?
  24. Beginning of June was the projected timeline. Haven't heard anything new though
