  1. Wow that's a high AAV.
  2. Is it worth it to pay 25-30% of the budget to 1 player?
  3. It all depends on what the final contract is. If they offer him 8 for 300 I'm not sure I would blame them. If its 8 for 250, JR better stay in Arizona.
  4. They said that all of the people shot, other than the the shooter, were shot in the first 5 minutes.
  5. Just heard the entire Renteria quote on WGN. He said, don't surprised if you seem him start at 3rd opening day. This will create more flexibility and be better for him and the team if he can move around.
  6. Make the playoffs? 75%.
  7. I also think there was plenty of spark when kopech came up. There will be more when Jimenez comes up. More when Cease comes up. Its baseball.
  8. I don't like mediocrity. I love going to baseball games. Baseball is one of my favorite forms of entertainment.
  9. I agree with this. I think what Renteria said is true. He needs play the guys he has hear and work with them as if no one else is added. Moving those players around to create line up flexibility makes sense.
  10. I think when the team gets good, they want him as utility guy not a 3B starter. If they are going to be good in 2 years start moving them around now to see if they can do it.
  11. I would. I've had season tickets the whole time and I've enjoyed going to the games.
  12. As I said about page 300, highly entertaining. I don't think too many people realize it's just a game and has no real bearing on their lives. It's entertainment.
  13. I don't know. That's true in general. However maybe they though he needs the mental breaks of doing something different. Last year he looked like a guy who would get too down and wrapped up in his own mind.
  14. Today has been a complete lack of progression of a day off from classes for me. ?
  15. More lineup flexibility? It is the way the game is morphing into.
  16. We agree on the time frame. I've said all along he gets 4 years, that would be 2020.
  17. I think Hahn and Co. should be allowed to complete their rebuilding plan.
  18. 2 since they allowed him to start the rebuild.
  19. No the debate started with a comment that even with Machado the team's success will lie with the rebuild and players from the minors. The Astros built a WS champion without high priced FA. Then the usual comments about the Sox can't develop players. The responses were then they will suck no matter what.
  20. Agreed . Once they committed to the rebuild, 4 years is enough time to see if the plan is working. If they aren't competitive after 4 years, the FO needs to go because they didn't execute the plan well. Then it time for another group to have a shot at it.
  21. No doubt. Like winning a world series.
  22. Yes. They may need to trade some prospects to get some advance players.
  23. A decade would be unreasonable. I think 4 years is reasonable. Of course, every decision hasn't been right. No GM is going to get them all right.
  24. Arrieta was a trade, Fowler was bargain basement and I think Castro came up through the system.
  25. If none of the current players become that, then it really doesn't matter if they sign Machado. They will suck regardless.
