  1. Because they aren't happy with the ifferscand are waiting for one of the GMs to blink.
  2. They are severe enough to keep the highest payroll teams out of the competition for two of the best players in the game.
  3. As I previously said find it immensely entertaining. Some of the posters, well............
  4. I'm going to need a long break from this site. Good thing the semester starts next week.
  5. One will have a significant impact on my life. Haven't decided which one yet.
  6. It won't change the perception. It will be that the Phillies had their pick, took Harper and Machado had to settle for the Sox offer, even as bad as the offer is.
  7. RUSH best of the bunch. Geddy (gary) Lee is among rocks elite.
  8. It had some justification though. Pippen had the back issue and got his money up front in case he couldn't play anymore. Pippen was able to play and at the back end of the contract was grossly underpaid. He made his money early.
  9. The problem with this scenario is that if it's successful, the team will not draft high enough to continually draft that level of QB. There will be a lot of draft capital used to trade up each time they want to acquire the QB of that caliber. The only one drafted low enough to do this was Jackson and I'm not convinced he will lead them anywhere.
  10. Here's a few questions that you need to answer honestly. Do you really think Hahn doesn't want to add Machado at any cost? Doesn't he know his team will be much better with one of the best players in the league on it? What is the limiting factor that may keep him from offering the highest contract to Machado? People can fault Hahn for talent evaluation like trades. This is not a case of evaluating talent. Everyone knows how good this player is. This transaction is all about how much he is allowed to spend.
  11. Maybe it's not as high as they want and are working the other teams to drive up the offers.
  12. Without a doubt they were fun and entertaining. Don't always have to win to be entertained.
  13. No doubt. Hard to win without quality players.
  14. I've kept track of the word count. The Sox are 31.4% behind the Cubs. ?
  15. Guess that depends on perspective. I've thoroughly enjoyed going to Sox games since the 80s. So much so that I've had at least partial season tickets since the late 90s.
  16. Why not? The question posed was what he did with both teams and the loyalty involved. How many championships did the previous owners of the Sox produce?
  17. I don't think there is any "theoretically" to it. For better or worse there are many things that are no longer acceptable.
  18. You judge them by the number of FA they sign? I prefer the quality of the team regardless of how they were acquired.
  19. Or it's an indicator of the budget and direction for the team dictated by someone higher than them.
