Of course, and it's different for every city and every situation. Its what makes economic sense for growth and revenue. That's why any hardline stance either way doesn't work. There has to be some tax incentive to bribe the companies in, because if they don't there is always someone who will, but it needs to make sense for the situation.

He did not have bad command in college. His last year he had over a 3/1 K/BB ratio and a 1.03 WHIP. Also if you watch any of his games he was dominant. The other things could be considered but the command wasnt bad.

It's a fine line between the two. They need to decide if caving in is worth it. They decided it wasn't. However, if they do it too often it can be detrimental. There is no revenue without businesses and tax payers.

There was an article in one of the NY papers discussing this with their governor Cuomo. He said that the top 1% of the tax payers paid 46% of the revenue in 2017. They raised the taxes on that group and one third of them moved their primary residence to Florida causing a 3.5 billion dollar loss in revenue last year. People who can afford to move will, if they increase the burden to a critical amount. It's just depends if the state can figure out that critical amount.

You also need to factor in that some cities have an extra tax on people who work in the city for less than 4 days at a time. This is a tax to specifically target athletes as for some reason it doesn't apply to business travelers who attend meetings in said city.

I guess they can find 20000 jobs anywhere. Those tax payers would help the state revenue off set the millionaires leaving the state.

No but those schools would be sufficient for local talent. No one area is going to supply all 15000 to 25000 employees. It will draw from around the country to bring new people to the city.

The other possiblity is that they are waiting for one of the GMs to blink and offer more money. Waiting just because they don't want to play on the White Sox doesn't make sense. It doesn't have to be that they don't want to play for the Sox, there are other possibilities. It could just be that they are trying to squeeze every penny out of any team and there is no hurry to go to spring training.

Look at the successful teams in any professional sports and they typically have continuity in management.

The vast majority of the employees have no bearing on the wins and loses and don't have 6 or 7 figure jobs.

No, he had multiple fractures in the primary bone in the arch called the navicular. The bone is only about 1 inch cubed in size and they put an obscene number of screws in it to try to get it to heal, something like 14. It didn't heal well and he couldn't even wal without pain.

It probably is the only way that he will last as a starter. However, since it didn't work let him go back to his old form, become effective and go to the pen if needed.
