QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 10:06 PM) Is poverty the only area we should examine? Thompson wants to build a wall to stop illegals, how much of his money is he going to donate? How much has Bush donated for embryonic stem cell research? I'm not an Edwards supporter but the guy can "prove" his charitable position much better than most (all?) of the candidates. So the GOP supporters can parse their insults anyway they like (well Edwards started it ) but I think he's putting his pocketbook where his mouth is. Take a guy to task for the real stuff and give the candidates their props when they are due. Okay Tex, I'll give the candidates props when due. Edwards has a great hair cut.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) Yeah I can't imagine why people would get the idea that some people would exploit the global warming debate for their own gains and profits... http://www.drudgereport.com/flash6.htm Imagine that!

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:56 PM) We knew when we took Tyrus he was going to be an extremely raw player to begin with, Id expect him to be a little better this season and maybe in season 3 or season 4 when we finally fully see the real TT. Hence, the problem with drafting these guys so young.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) Kane is the best thing this city has seen hockey-wise since Roenick's early days... he's a studmuffin. Kane and Toews are exciting to have, but they'll probably hit that rookie wall at some point. I'm not sure this year will be the year they make the playoffs. But, the 'Hawks time is coming and soon.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:30 PM) Or their indoor stadium could have the roof painting with the sky and clouds like they do in some of the hotels. Add the removable grass like the Arizona Cardinals have, and there ya go! A 'virtual' paradise.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) So, while we're noticing these things, I may as well point out that 7 of the 10 busiest fire seasons in U.S. history have been since 1999 and #s 1 and 2 are 2006 and 2007. That's not global warming. That's HAARP!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) When the President has a 25% approval rating, and Congress is at 11%, it accurately portrays people's view of the current policital enviornment. Agreed. I don't see how anybody can justify the performance of either party. They are both being controlled by the same puppeteer.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) In eight years he will have too much of a voting record to be a viable candidate. They will take it apart and use it to rip him apart. No. I disagree. He'll be coached and guided as the great black hope.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:12 PM) It would have to be an indoor stadium and who the heck likes those? Las Vegas never sleeps. They could play the games at 3 a.m.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) Thanks in no small part to the actions of Sen. Dodd, and the online blitz that was being readied by pretty much every online left leaning group, Obama is now clearly saying he will support a filibuster of any FISA bill giving retroactive immunity to telecom companies for having broken the law. While this is good...it'd still be a lot more impressive if Barack were actually leading on any of these issues and not just following Sen. Dodd once his staffers realize he'll take a hammering on something that a more ballsy senator has already stepped forwards on. Give Obama about 8 years and he may be a qualified candidate. He's not at this time.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 11:35 AM) Oh come on man, you're calling the $600 billion a year defense industry, the Medicare Insurance company bailout bill, and everything else from the record number of earmarks over the past few years to the creation of this whole new "homeland security" apparatus "Dem spending"? Yes, the Dems do their share of spending. But you're totally ignoring the last 15 years if all you're caring about is "Dem spending". Heck, on this one I can even cite the incredibly conservative Heritage foundation, and no one will be able to complain about my source. There isn't a legitimate conservative in the country who isn't sickened by Bush's spending. This guy is pushing the NWO and that's all there is to it.

I was born in a cross-fire hurricane. A pauper to a pawn on a Christmas Day when the New York Times said "God is Dead" and "The War's Begun". I've been up and down and over and out and I know one thing. Love of mine, someday you will die. We've already said ‘So long’. I don't want to see you go. Oh you had better go now Because something about you makes me say wow. We got a wham bam shang-a-lang and a sha-la-la-la-la-la thing. Every shing a ling a ling That they're startin' to sing So fine. Grandpa was a Carpenter, he built houses, stores and banks. Chain smoked Camel cigarettes and hammered nails in planks. If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning. You talk about the Hammer when you’re talking ‘bout a show. That's hyped and tight. There's a Hammer in My Heart pounding out your name. There's a Hammer in My Heart. . . Here in comes again. I go through all this before you wake up. Wake up in the morning to yourself, open your head and look around you. Just look around, yes look around. There is someone walking behind you. Turn around, look at me. See Me. Feel Me. Touch Me. Heal Me. Soon you will see me, cos I'll be all around you. Keep away from run-around Sue. Sue-ue-ue-ue-ue, who cares what people say? I tell ya. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) But it is not a no brainer. They are Presidential records that Bush and Clinton have to approve to be released and both parties have agendas and reasons for not wanting that stuff released. Okay ... I'll give you that point. But this is exactly what's wrong with the nation right now. Too many secrets that are strictly for reasons of agenda. National security is one thing, political agenda is something entirely different ... and unacceptable imho.

Though I rarely agree with anything this douchebag says, I think he summed it up here. Jay Mariotti: I'd like to think baseball's handling of the Byrd situation is a positive step -- but I'm not naive. Byrd claimed MLB officials were aware he was using HGH under a doctor's care to treat a tumor, saying, ``The Indians, my coaches and MLB have known that I have had a pituitary gland issue for some time and have assisted me in getting blood tests in different states.'' Selig's men and Indians officials moved quickly to deny any knowledge, a departure from baseball's usual hush-hush clampdowns. I was impressed by the rare proactivity of it all. ``We have never granted a (therapeutic use exemption) for (HGH), ever. Not for this guy, not for anybody,'' MLB labor-relations executive Rob Manfred told the New York Daily News. When Indians general manager Mark Shapiro, who has known Byrd since the early '90s, said he didn't know about Byrd's HGH use until last week, it appeared baseball had nailed a victim by its lonesome. And why not? Byrd had lost all credibility by claiming baseball knew when baseball did not know. As for receiving the HGH prescriptions from a doctor, let me say this about those who have been accused of buying the stuff: When you and I have a prescription, we go to Walgreen's. When these guys have a prescription, they allegedly go to an anti-aging clinic that is being investigated by the feds.
