  1. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 10:24 AM) Least likely to go: Minnesota Tampa Bay, but it's a moot point.
  2. An AL team in Nashville would be sweet. But it's basically NL territory, surounded by Cincinnati, St Louis and Atlanta.
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 10:23 AM) I was mixing groups in that post. For any voter, if they require "proof", I doubt they will vote for that candidate. The record is extant. It's just a matter of her backing up what she says. If what she claims is fact, this should be a no-brainer.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 10:08 AM) No, people need to decide if she should back it up. They have the choice to accept or reject the statement. Some people will reject it regardless of "proof". Witness Edwards and his financial returns and donations to charity. That "proof" clearly didn't change minds of hardcore Republicans. And we all know no matter what "proof" she produces, attendance lists for meetings, memos, etc. the hard core Republicans will reject it and the hard core Dems will slurp it up. I would suggest that if the candidate requires proof of everything, then they do not have the credibility with *you* for you to vote for him/her and it is a mute point. There is nothing that Hillary could ever produce that would get yours and Kap's votes. The hard core Republicans and the hard core Democrats are not going to decide who is our next president. And yes, you are correct. I will NEVER vote for Hillary. I may vote for a democrat, but not if it's her.
  5. Hmmm. I wonder if Kenny has any Cardinals in his gun sights.
  6. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 07:33 AM) The one number that cannot be overlooked is HRs: B-Mac - 101.2 IP, 9 HR Danks - 139.0 IP, 28 HR Danks is two years younger, and is a southpaw. With those factors, the trade is basically a wash. Also, if Floyd doesn't completely suck in Spring Training, Danks plays in AAA all year. This is one of those trades that you need to look at in 2 years. Then again, you can look at the strikeout to walk ratio and Danks definitely comes out on top of that, which bodes well for him. Add in the fact that he is a lefty and the additional year before free agency, then it's looking pretty good on the home front. Also, Masset is not completely out of the equation yet.

    QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 09:22 AM) I know this is more of a filibuster related thought but do you think FEMA is in a potential catch 22? If they act swiftly and do a great job some people could think that it's because the area affected has a lot of rich white people. That famous Kanye West line comes to mind "George Bush doesn't care about black people". And if they act just as slowly as they did in New Orleans people will say "Look, they are completely incompetent just like last time". I think the state of California has the 'dealing with humanity' thing in a relatively good situation at the moment. I don't think FEMA will get any credit or blame.
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 10:00 AM) I understand that and I also read it is up to President Bush and President Clinton. So if it is pro, Bush can block and if it is con, Bill can block. Seems like a nice cozy situation to just release nothing. And I rejected her claim, believing that First Spouse, no matter how "involved", is not a qualifier for President. Yes YOU rejected her claim. That doesn't mean the mindless throngs will do the same. If she's going to throw that out there, she needs to back it up.
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 09:48 AM) Which is up to her husband and a rival Pres to jointly release. So pro and con get blocked. Sounds like a nice cozy relationship. I've pretty much discounted any claim of experience from being First Lady, so it doesn't mean much to me. Well perhaps she knows where to tell Bill to stand at state functions and which spouses are fun to hang with. If she wasn't claiming to have been more involved, then it wouldn't be an issue. That fact is, she's using her supposed influence during Bill's time as a reason she should be considered qualified for the presidency, yet won't let the record become public.
  10. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 09:44 AM) I just don't get the complete hatred you have for him. I'm by no means a fan of his but you make him out to be the worst human being on Earth. Mr. Irrelevent in actuality.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) On one hand you say she hasn't done anything, on the other you claim she was practically a co-President with Bill. I'm not a big Hillary fan, but I really don't see her allowing Bill to have much involvement. Look at the adjectives that Kap used, is that the kind of person that would win as President and then turn over the reigns to her husband? Clinton - Puten - Bush. Insert either name in to any sentence about holding on to power and they all work.

  14. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 08:54 AM) Absolutely agree. I guess that's my issue with it - voting and being informed about whats going on with government used to be an important part of American life. Now we're more interested in Britney's crotch and guys who look at the camera funny and crack jokes. That's because you can't avoid that kind of stuff .... while watching the news! The dumbing down of America has been successful.

  16. I was born in a cross-fire hurricane. A pauper to a pawn on a Christmas Day when the New York Times said "God is Dead" and "The War's Begun". I go through all this before you wake up. Wake up in the morning to yourself, open your head and look around you. Just look around, yes look around. There is someone walking behind you. Turn around, look at me. See Me. Feel Me. Touch Me. Heal Me. Soon you will see me, cos I'll be all around you. Keep away from run-around Sue. Sue-ue-ue-ue-ue, who cares what people say? I tell ya.
