QUOTE (Realfan @ Jan 5, 2013 -> 02:09 PM) This is the right person at CWS to contact. My son had his 12th at the Cell as well a couple of years ago. Warning - it will cost you $$ to do this. Everything always costs $$.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) Why are you bringing ethnicity into it? Did he really just ask this question?

QUOTE (MAX @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 10:59 PM) WHAT? The playing part of career was long, but very average and that is taking his defense into account. Neither number should be retired. Period.

QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 10:22 PM) I loved the comment. I like players who respect the game and how it should be played, no matter what team they are on. The Sanders confrontation was one of my favorite things about Fisk. Sanders was disrespecting the game. Sanders did so while wearing pinstripes in Yankee Stadium. Sanders was all about Sanders and Fisk called him out on it.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) Now we're blaming arguably the best SS in baseball for AJ's girlyman arm? The thing is, what he said was 100% correct.

QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 10:53 AM) AJ may have been an ass, but NO ONE can argue about what he did on the field. Yes, he didn't throw well, but he called a good game, was an everyday player, and could hit. He was also extremely bright and as ball players go, few were more clever. AJ may not have respected Ventura, but in the one year he played for said manager he had a career year. AJP is a huge loss. I like Tyler and yes it's time to give him the reigns, but AJP will be sorely missed by the Sox and most of the fans. I cannot disagree with one word of this post. However, AJ's time is past and we will see what we have in Flowers. It is time.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Dec 27, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) Bernstein was saying that Phil Rogers IIRC was linking the Sox with Ben Zobrist.. personally would love this. There is nothing in the way Rogers 'linked' Zobrist with Sox that led me to believe it was more than simple speculation, if that.

If Rick Hahn shoots from the hip because it's "making people insane", he should be fired.

QUOTE (rippedsounds @ Dec 27, 2012 -> 08:51 AM) You've just nailed the reason why I stopped being a Red Sox fan. But I was a kid though once. We'll accept that. Welcome to SoxTalk!

I remember hearing Fisk tell a story about an incident that occured while he was still a Red Sox. Former Sox pitcher Gary Peters was pitching for the BoSox with Pudge catching. Peters was struggling. Fisk, a rookie at the time, went out to mound with Peters facing the outfield rubbing up a ball. When Fisk got there, Peters never looked at him, but said, "What the f*** do you want?" Fisk, of course, just turned around and when back behind the plate without saying a word.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 26, 2012 -> 09:33 AM) I always thought the media gets a pass, well because obviously they're the ones telling the story. There were so many obvious signs that something was going down and for the most part it was just ignored or missed, either option is poor journalism IMO. Interesting. That article on the previous page had a line in it saying that he was "angry it US so long to shine a light on it." (Emphasis mine) Yet, he didn't express anger at the media. -
Thomas, Walsh, Appling, Jackson

I'll only say in reply to the 'dumbest s***' comments that I have seen what suicide does to those left behind. I stand by it.
-
No disrespect intended, but suicide is a very selfish act.

QUOTE (Sox1 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:43 PM) Joe I said that 'tongue in cheek', but in retrospect when Bo was around a lot of kids idolized him, so it's not that far fetched.
-
QUOTE (Sox1 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:39 PM) Jackson, Fox, Thomas and Konerko Bo or Joe?
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 05:25 PM) Like just a few months ago, I think after this season it became official. I think that former Sox catcher Mark Johnson will manage them.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) And then there was one -- Paulie, the last connection to 2005. Game Two of the ALCS was the only post-season game I was fortunate to attend. That game was the key to the post-season run -- and A.J. outthinking Josh Paul, Doug Eddings and everybody else was key to winning that game. Thanks for the memories A.J. wish you the best -- except for those six games every year. To me, Game Two of the ALCS was the iconic moment of the post season.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) I was at the bar in a beer garden in college with two buddies. That was an epic game. In celebration, I stuck both fists up into a rotating ceiling fan when he hit that HR.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) Hopefully Hahn is just good at working behind the scenes and we don't go back to the days of Schueler where non one is traded because they believe that our prospects are better than everyone else's and they seems afraid to trade anyone.. Schueler sucked. Period.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) You're not willing to say Justin Verlander will throw 190 innings, but you think Danks will be fine after surgery (no?) though you won't say he'll throw 190 innings either. All I'm saying is your point about whether or not Danks throws 190 is pointless. Nothing more, nothing less.
-
Mark Buehrle, RA Dickey, Justin Verlander are all good choices. But they are all probables. No guarantees for any of them. You can't say without any doubt whatsoever that any pitcher will pitch 190 innings in '13. Hence my point that Marty has no point, just bluster.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 02:45 AM) Mark Buehrle. BOOM. *drops the mic* You can't even gaurantee he'll be healthy for spring training.
-
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 05:28 PM) Thanks for making my point, B. Name me one pitcher that you can abolutely guarantee will pitch 190 innings in 2013. You can't, therefore you have no point.

The Nostradamus remark hit me as very condescending.
