QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) They got the same noses.... isnt that where you look first when you see someone's face? I think the big "M" on Carlos' hat should be a dead giveaway.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) so, an 11 game lead could be a 6 or 7 game lead in less than a week. Wait! Damnit, I'm being negative again! You are also being realistic. Fathom is correct. This thing is far from over.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) Jerry said money is no option at this point. His words, not mine... Yes he did, but that contract is nucking futs!

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) Man, I got blasted by some for just raising the possibility that management is getting complacent with a 12 (now 11) game lead. But I agree with you. I think the Sox gained 4 games on the Twins in one week in late June, if I remember correctly. This thing is sooo far from over that all this playoff talk makes me :puke The Sox gained 4 games on the Twins over the first 5 games after the break, the Cleveland sweep and game 1 against Detroit. The Twins lost 4 of 5 during that same time frame.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) I'm sorry but I will not be willing to part with top quality for Schmidt..... He has a road ERA of 5.22 and batting against of .297... The AL would absolutely destroy him and in the cell can you spell ERA of 6... I'm sorry for the big font but i'm so sick of the people who say, he hit 94 on the gun he must be good now... He was mediocore before the Giants and steroids and I wouldn't put it past him to be mediocore now.. You've made your point abundantly clear. I think we all know how you feel by now, Mr. Hyde.

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) Anyone who thinks an athlete the calibur of Dye-- a major leaguer who has played baseball all his life, and who has showed the ability to play 1B already-- cannot play 1B adequately is the idiot. C'mon! Get real. Your are talking about playing someone out of position every day and he hasn't played but a few games there in a period of years. This does happen to be the Major Leagues and this does happen to be a pennant race.

I remember we were all ready to chuck the season when Mark had that phantom ankle injury in ST. But ... hey ... it's cool if he wants to even take a chance on hurting himself doing this. No problem.
-
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) This was originally my idea(PK for KGF And Dye to 1B) and everyone shot it down so damn quickly. Funny how things change. Dye as the regular at 1B in the middle of the season is going to get shot down by anyone that has half a brain.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Only because I luuuuvvveee you YAS. C'mere and say that.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) Welcome back Mr Crabbypants. 15 pages of b****ing and I make one crack b****ing about the b****ing ... in response to another that did the same thing ... and I get called out. :rolly

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) Welcome back Mr Crabbypants. :finger

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) And hence why the game threads suck anymore. 3/4s of the posts are b****ing about Konerko, and there isn't one post in this whole thread that actually has what matters most... THE SCORE OF THE GAME! :headshake Pretty f***in' sad, ain't it?

Considering Crede's back is iffy and a we need a LH bat ..... Any chance Robin comes out of retirement. Relax .... I'm not serious.

Juggs, the Red Sox already acquired Tony G.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) See I split the above into two posts because one was so gosh darn heart felt and I didn't want to taint it with my tongue in cheek backsided slam to trekkies. that and I get three posts out of it. I can relate.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) I don't mind you climbing over me, but the guy from Kentucky might enjoy it too much You're not my type.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) This thread just went to hell in a handbasket. Hell's bells!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) RIP Ohh hell, I just typed that because Steff, YAS, and Willie are all about to pass me for 3rd in post count. So I'm taking any excuse, even a RIP post, to try to stay ahead. I feel like an aging ball player hanging on to hit 500. I could give two rips that he dies. And he wouldn't have cared if I died. That is not even worthy of a response. But .. since it ups my post count by one, what the hell.
-
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) I hope you meant pass and not piss. RIP Scotty. I had a typo in my original post ... which Steff so kindly pointed out.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) Oh hell.. nice edit YAS. Huh!
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) Hu...??? The offense wet itself from the get go. The 2000 team was a flash in the pan. Though I hoped for a miracle, I knew that team wasn't going to do s*** in the playoffs. They played at about .500 for the last 6 weeks or so.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) I don't really drink anymore, and especially not at the price they are in a ballpark. I actually don't usually eat or drink during the game. If it's allowed I might bring in a water and some peanuts (nervous habit), but usually I'm content to just sit and watch the game. I guess you could say I'm a cheap date. . . The best kind.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) May he pess in peace.. Ummm .. Thank you. I think. :headshake

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) just when you think you invented something idiot proof, nature comes along and invents a better idiot . . . and YASNY strong words from someone with snot running down his nose -- Stop eyeing little girls with bad intent.
