I'm in the process of reading this now. In my opinion, Roberto Clemente was the most exciting player I ever saw. Mantle was an icon when I was very young. Mays was getting old too. In Clemente's prime I wasn't so young. Griffey Jr. came close but given a choice I'd take Clemente. Roberto Clemente was absolutely a great, great baseball player.

I played OOTP for several seasons. I won a couple championships, and lost one when Greg Maddux hit a grand slam off of Pedro Martinez in the 8th inning of game 7 of the WS when I had a 2 run lead. True story. That said, it's been many years since I played and I really am not interested, but thanks for bringing back some memories of some good times with a bunch of coworkers by mentioning OOTP.

Here's my story. My dad grew up as the son of a poor sharecropper in western KY. His dad died when my dad was 13 and Dad took on the responsibilty of bringing home the bacon. I walked up the lower deck ramp along the right field line at Comiskey Park and watched that wonderful green "Baseball Palace of the World" open up before my eyes and I've been hooked ever since. I remember that moment like it was yesterday. It's December, the winter meetings are history. Things are slow. So I ask, what's your story?

Lookin' like we'll go 4-14 against them next year.
