Beane would not have traded Kotsay. He's trying to lock him up, long term, right now.

I haven't changed my opinion yet. There is no rush to resign AJ. He's with us for till the end of '06 as it is, if we want him that long. Let's wait and see.

This is not just a "stupid" scenario. There are some very valid points here that need some serious consideration. I'm not advocating it yet, because I need some time to think about it. It's a drastic step to take, imo. But, it may be the thing to do. I don't know.

This thread os basically worthless. Why do we thgink that we had a choice between trading PK or CL? The Brewers wanted Lee. They had no use for a firstbaseman. The trade happened, and so far it's worked out well for us. Regardless of what type of year Carlos has, this trade has made the Sox a better team. What else can you ask from a trade?
