  1. I hope Carl is successful out in the field. However, other than a few misplays by Dye, which we are all aware of, he has added something to overall defense of this the team. At least, Aaron Rowand thinks so. He has commented on Dye and Posednik were very good at cutting of balls in the alleys and therefore turning doubles into singles and prevent other baserunners from advancing an extra base. There are defensive plays that don't show up in the box score.
  2. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 16, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) So Now I have the power to make you read my posts..Wow I guess all that work on the Jedi Mind Tricks are playing off.. I try and read everyone's posts. That way I know who to respect and who's being a tool.
  3. Frank cannot stay with Charlotte for a month. Just saying.
  4. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 16, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) Well every loss I put into the loss catagory, and every win I put into the 42 list.. so The way I figure it.. we have about 50 more games of losing before the seasons end. Exactly! We are going to lose quite a few times before the season's end. There is no reason for people to get so damn angry over each one.
  5. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 16, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) Godd luck Frank!!!! P.S. Just hit homers so u dont have to run the bases full speed. Actually, I'm afraid he'll take that exact approach. If he does, he'll he be a .240 hitter.
  6. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 16, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) There there.. Only in the minds of the weak would you still not see the truth that is KW.. A Failure. Whether he is a failure or not is not the point. It's your neverending infatuation over the sitution that is garbage. And for you to call somebody out over any subject that you find tiresome is laughable, considering you don't seem to mind making us read the same crap over and over again.
  7. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ May 16, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) My vote is for the home series against Arizona, June 13th. If he's healthy, it will be sooner than that. They can olny leave him on a rehab assignment for 20 games, tops.
  8. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 16, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Again I can't stress this enough... WHO THE f*** CARES? You people are amuzing, f*** espn whenever they say anything bad about the sox.. Then worship the f***ing ESPN when they say something good.. Make up ur minds.. and f*** ESPN, we are never going to be the Yankees/red Sox/Cubs in their eyes and who cares I don't.. I watch the games (when I can) and go on my merry way. With all your endless ranting about KW, you don't have any room to talk. Shut up and let people say what they want to say. You don't ever hesitate to spew your misguided opinions.
  9. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 16, 2005 -> 03:26 AM) Yep. One thing at a time. Don't put the cart before the horse. (Add your own cliche here). Let's cross that bridge when we come to it.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) As many of us said, Aaron has the tools to be a solid #3 hitter. I would like to see them slide Frank to #4 when he gets back even. I don't think they'll start with him hitting cleanup. He hasn't faced major league pitching in about a year.
  11. After reading this column, I had a few things I wanted to say to MR. Mariotti. Here's my email to him. No response from him as of yet.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 15, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) so the idea is to have a guy who can't even stay healthy with getting at least four days rest between pitching in games and have him pitch on consecutive days at times? Yeah, that's really f***ing smart! And that s*** about him being one of the most unhittable pitchers in baseball is just silly at this point. This guy is so overhyped. Ever hear of John Smoltz?
  13. Good read. Thanks for posting it.
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 15, 2005 -> 02:31 AM) ESPN gets less than a 1 share with some of it's primetime programming... Why? Because it's on freakin' cable. ESPN recently discovered they can air something called "Bowling Night" and get the same ratings, or better, than the NHL games that were supposed to be airing, for much cheaper to boot. I don't know why I went on the ESPN jaunt, but I just read that in an article, and well I thought I should write it here. NHL= in big trouble. Comparing a subscription service such as cable TV to a freely available service is almost universally going to yeild the same results. Add to that the difference between the Mets and the Devil Rays and you've got yourself a stacked freakin' deck. Still, you picked out a perceived negative remark out of a generally well written article. That, my friend, is nitpicking.
  15. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 15, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) Ah this was pretty shoddy... Why not check and see what it was on Thursday when the Sox were on GN, and the cubs the lowly comcast? Cuz it wouldn't have made his point that's why. I now realize there wasn't a cubs game yesterday. D'OH. the point still stands. All in all, it was a good and fairly written article. You're nitpicking.
  16. Zambrano was pulled from tonight's game dur to "tightness" in the right forearm. There's a chance he may not be able to pitch against us. We'll have to wait and see how this turns out.
  17. Here's the best column-feature-story, whatever, of them all, as far as I'm concerned. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Rick Morrisey's column is also very good.
  18. As good as Hoyt was, there's a reason the guy was traded for a rookie SS with no power and no plate discipline.
  19. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 14, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Was it his defense? Nobody's found that yet.
  20. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ May 14, 2005 -> 08:18 AM) This is a thing of beauty: It's brings a smile to face and a tear of joy to my eye.
  21. "Spawn of the Devil" linked up the "Evil Empire". There's irony for you!
  22. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ May 14, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) Cabrera is a beast 98 mph fastball at 6 foot 7. Konerko should love this guy. He's been pulling everyone else foul.
  23. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ May 14, 2005 -> 04:20 AM) 1. Ozzie ... he's always been my guy. 2. Aaron Rowand. 3. Harold 4. Mike Sirotka 5. Mark Johnson 6. Bo 7. Jose Valentin 8. Robin 9. Frank 10. "Nawton, you're the greatest." I forgot the man I would probably put ahead of most of those players- Wimpy. I'm pretty sure he never played for the Sox but make him my #4. Wimpy played for the Sox.
  24. QUOTE(TheDybber @ May 13, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) Oh c'mon Yas. He needs to put his money where his mouth is. Rush has this tendency (and yes, I do listen to him from time to time) to make this grandiose statements about the way things should be in the world according to Rush. This is one of those statements, no matter how anyone thinks the coverage is slanted. Take them on, Rush, what are you afraid of? I'm not sticking up for Rush. I was stating a fact. Sometimes, the bias within a news story gets totally overlooked.
  25. QUOTE(winodj @ May 13, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) It isn't unconstitutional to change the Senate rules, but it would be a bad idea for a number of reasons. Just remember these are the same rules that the GOP will have to play by when they are back in the minority. They'll just change them back just before their majority leaves office.
