  1. We went to the house of horrors in Oakland and lost two tough games. In the meantime, the Twins lost 3 of 4 to the lowly D-Rays... at home yet. They gained no ground on us. I can live with that.
  2. So what did Kohlmeier cost us?
  3. Rowand. OF of Lee-Borchard-Ordonez.
  4. You would also have to take into consideration the depth issue. If one of our big 4 gets hurt, we're toast, unless we do get another quality pitcher.
  5. As I said, KW's always been aggressive. I believe there is something more than just smoke and mirrors behind these rumors. Whether a trade happens or not, I'd believe KW's talking about them.
  6. I wouldn't be shocking to see JB in the Sox outfield by the trade deadline.
  7. I don't see what's so insane about it. KW has always been an aggressive GM.
  8. Is it really important that there be a Maggio Ordonez watch? Sure, it was a nice call to start the thread. Good for a laugh, even. But do you really expect something like that?
  9. Minnesota has shown a resiliency that the Sox have lacked. Whjen the going got tough, they got going, to coin a well worn cliche'. Until the Twins are mathematically eliminated or so far back they don't stand a snowball's chance in hell, I'm worried about them. For example, what if they went out and got Freddie Garcia? Would we be so quick to write them off? Who's to say they won't make such a move? You certainly can't stick a fork in Twins. They are far from being "done".
  10. This is a case of a squeeky wheel in need of some grease.
  11. Hey! Do you think we could use this guy?
  12. I agree. I'm not infatuated with the likes of Randall Simon.
  13. I can see the Hamm's Bear skiing through a thicket of trees only to run into one little tree standing alone. I used to love those commercials.
  14. Yeah. Like the memory of that 4 game sweep in the '91 conference finals.
  15. I'll be there for at least one of the games in July.
  16. I think we need a quality control editor.
  17. Hey Ozzietheairehead. When you have an opinion that's not an immature kneejerk overreaction, then I might give a s*** about something you have to say. Until then :fyou :dips***
  18. Our very good team went up against their very good team in their home stadium, where they have the last at bat. We lost two games against a very solid team. It happens. Now, let's go get 'em in Seattle.
  19. I'm sure there have been many offers and counter-offers exchanged. Each and everyone of which has been "turned down". That is what they call negotiations. The fact that they are still talking is the main point.
  20. Well, hopefully our offense can prove that Garcia ain't all that. But then, he looked damn good when I saw him pitch against a pretty potent Texas team a few weeks back.
  21. I'd settle for 2 ot of 3. But it would be nice to actually sweep a series from time to time.
  22. We just consider the source. :headshake
  23. Thanks for the info. It may be true and it may not. However, you brought what info you had and ID'ed the source as much as possible. I personally like to hear the "through the grapevine" stuff, though I know there's a good chance things won't work out that way or that tomorrow it could all change. And welcome to Soxtalk, BTW.
  24. Wasn't Kenny the first contender GM to swing a deal last year? And you know he's been working the phones this year. It takes two teams to make a trade, and some of these teams are not ready to do so yet. Saying KW "waited" to get Everett is a little unfair considering he got him weeks before the trade deadline.
