People talk about Reed like Cub fans talk about Prior. Put things in perspective folks. He's doing very well in the minors. But there is no way to assume that he's going to do that well in majors. Willie Harris has now proven he is capable of being a productive big league player. Reed has proved that, yet. The point is, he may never be able to do so. We just don't know if he can or not.

All teams call up AAAA players to fill in for injuries, until another option comes along. I don't expect this Dransfeldt - Burke situation to be anything long term.

Helling has never been great, and he's been very questionable lately. But, he might fill in well enough till KW can pull off a deal.

Between Sheets and Sabathia (I couldn't resist starting this sentence with "Between Sheets".) who has the most upside. I'd be inclined to think it was Sheets, but I really don't know. Also, I still think Borchard has a chance to be more of a high impact player than Reed, plus he would supply us with that forever missing LH power. If I had to choose between includinging Reed or Borchard, I'd have to say see ya Jeremy.

It seems like Ozzie would rather have Valentin at short and Uribe at 3rd when Crede isn't in there. That must mean that Ozzie likes his shortstop. But hell, what does Ozzie know about shortstops?

He's been a solid contributor to the Mets for a few years now. If he was like that with the Flubs, I would assume he's matured beyond that now, or he'd be history as far as MLB is concerned.

The DBacks are NOT going to trade Randy Johnson. He won't let them. He's got an ironclad no-trade clause and is building a new home there.

Should they really be picky about which side a guy throws from when they can't find a decent 5th starter?

Why would we trade Maggs and then consider going and getting a rent-a-player? Maggs can be considered a damn good rent-a-player that doesn't cost us any prospects.

I'd take either one. For the short term I'd prefer Finley. Considering our minor league depth, he may be the best bet value wise.

Does the fact that Maggs has played day in and day out for years not get taken into consideration before the guy is labeled as a pussy? C'mon people. Maggs has never dogged it due to nagging aches and pains.

I'd love to have Cameron. But we really need a left handed hitter.

My thoughts on the Gload incident. He was busting ass down the first base line to try and beat the throw after the diving stop. He had it in his mind to to beat it out and he had to haul ass and run through the bag hard. He did exactly what he should have done and I don't fault him for not picking up on the fact the ball was overthrown soon enough.

That's a plan I can live with. We could really use both Perez and Finley.
