If Crede can average .290-25-90 over the next 5 years, that is EXCELLENT production from 3rd base. I believe he has the talent to do at least that.

The Marlins backs are definitely against a wall, but they were for game 5 also. Until the Cubs actually get that last out to win that one more game, there is always a chance. Rememebr Leon Durham in '84 and Billy Buckner in the '86 Series. The '84 Cubs were within a game of the Series with 3 to play. Same scenario we saw prior to Game 5. They failed then, evn though they had '84 Cy Young winner Sytcliffe on the mound for the last game. They can fail again. Baseball is a funny game.

As great as Roberto Alomar was, back in the day, he is no longer great. At best, he is a nice fill in until we can develop someone. I don't know if Robbie would give us much more production than Aaron Miles. I, also, believe we should replace Jose Valentin as shortstop. I never did like the idea of signing Castillo and playing him at short. Why not get a shortstop to play shortstop? Regarding the rumors, any or all of them could be true.

Sexson would be a great add, but it would still leave us too many unskilled slow players. We HAVE to break that log jam. Geesh watching the Marlins has really driven that point home. But we also need a left handed hitting thumper.

I was responding to the post that the manager have WS experience but not be Cito Gaston. Is there anyone alive other than Torre who has more WS titles than Gaston. I personally would like Cito Gaston. My whole post should've been in green. Any person that wants experience as a crendential should start and stop with Gaston. This is who I am pulling for. He will keep Jesse Jackson at bay and this is good in and of itself. I don't give a rat's ass what Jesse Jackson thinks, does or says.
