  1. Man, I hate to say this but the Twins are the current defending Central Division champs. WE have got yo beat these guys head to head. What happened in 2000 don't mean squat today.
  2. Garland, a young starter with a lot of potential, and Porzio, a decent LH out of the pen, should be plenty for Drew.
  3. Thanks Clujer. I knew Estes wimped out big time, but couldn't come up with the details. Anyway, he's wearing the appropriate uniform these days.
  4. Hey! I never thought of Porzio. That just might be a doable deal.
  5. How'd this asshole get in here?
  6. I wouldn't put it past them cheating sumb****es. No wonder they Hammered Mark last night.
  7. I'm going with Jose Valentin, even though he "won" last night. In an 18-3 loss, does anybody click?
  8. You know Roman, sometimes a guy just has a bad year. It happens.
  9. If memory serves me, someone drilled Piazza pretty good, and after the umpires warned the benches, Estes didn't retaliate. I could be very wrong about the details, so you people feel free to correct my senile old ass. LOL
  10. Comiskey US Cell Wrigley Tiger Stadium Busch And I did drive past Riverfront in Cinci while a game was going on. LOL
  11. OK, just checking. My problem is that I work nights and am usually sound asleep at game time. So, if my pick doesn't start I do not get the opportunity to change it. But that's cool, I'll just give it my best shot. BTW, thanks for doing this.

Thanks for posting that SS2K3. I doubt that I would have run across it. That was a good read.
  13. I'm sure some guys made eye contact with Colon in the dugout, maybe even Maggs after the inning. Colon's a pro. He knew what had to be done. Unlike that dude with the Mets last year. Estes. Pussy. I wonder where that guy is now?
  14. I don't think Bart "risked" getting thrown out. I think he KNEW he was gone. And yes, that ball that hit Maggs was a high hard one. That was definitely a purpose pitch.
  15. After you made that post, I thought about it and can see why you came to that conclusion. It wasn't intentional. Apologies extended.
  16. Yes. I'd do that .... Garland, Valentin, Gordon for Drew and Renteria. I wouldn't give up Marte or Koch in that deal. White is expendable, and I don't think St. Louis would want him. After all, they let him walk after last season, even though he pitched lights out for them.
  17. No dude, I'm not pissed at anyone. I'm sorry if I came across that way.
  18. The catcher excuse doesn't cut it. If Johnson was here, and got hurt, would you put Johnson and Buehrle on the DL? He's a major league pitcher and should be able to pitch to whoever JM puts in the lineup next to that C.
  19. Well, the Cards are also hurting in the pen. They might want to talk about a larger deal. Something that could include Koch, Marte, Gordon or Wunsch. We'd just have to see what the offer is and go from there. But, no, I wouldn't give anymore than JG for Drew, unless it's just some excess minor leaguer.
  20. You don't think he's under pressure right now? Look at Robin Ventura. He went 0 for his firts 41 at bats when he came up. They stuck with him, and he developed into a hell of a ballplayer.
  21. Rauch or Stewart, either one, I believe could hold down the #5 slot in the rotation. I'd make this deal, straight up.
  22. If JR would market this team as a big market team, spend like a big market team so it would produce like a big market team, it would draw like a big market team. Chicago is not exactly Kansas City or Pittsburg. Instead, we have a small market mentality in a big maket city.

Mark made the rotation as the #5 starter out of spring training 2001.
  24. The only way Crede is ever going to develop, is to get the at bats and playing time he needs. It's part of it, with young players.
  25. JR won't spend the necessary money until attendance picks up. Attendance won't pick up because the team is playing so poorly. The team is playing poorly because JR won't spend the money to get baetter players. Vicious cycle.
