  1. Yes. Sandy Alomar is another one that I have thought about. I just noticed it in Girardi a lot sooner.
  2. What has happened to that once proud franchise over the years is a crime.
  3. Thank you baggio... that's what I wanted to know. If BK is throwing 93-95, and has no movement... He's meat.
  4. I've been thinking about that a lot about Ward... I think it is time for him to go, with KW with him, and let JM have a batting coach whose philosophy is the same as his - get everyone on the same page - too many conflicting philosophies (and too many head chefs) mess up the mix every time. Lert it be JM's team and let's see what he can do without interference - I have to totally agree with you here. I think that without interference, JM can make a winner out of this team. I admit, my thinking has changed on this. That thread HSC started about KW's ultimate demise convinced me.
  5. Mike Lum is an ex-catcher, isn't he? In general, I think ex-catchers make the best coach/managerial candidates. They always were involved in every aspect of the game, and had the game right in front of them the whole time they played. I think Joe Girardi would make a great manager some day.
  6. I'll read over there from time to time, too. I like their interviews with ex sox players. And I read the board. I just decided not to post over there.
  7. I get the feeling that you left a lot "unsaid". I find this post very ......... ummmm ..... troubling. I sure hope things don't work out as you fear.
  8. There are some people over there that know their s***... that's for sure. but, personally, I have always fely more welcome here. So here is home.
  9. Now there's a thought.....
  10. I thought Backman was at Birmingham.
  11. Excellent post. And I agree, we haven't the seen the real Sox yet. This team will be better. I just hope it's not too little too late, like last year.
  12. That's obvious. Still, I wonder what the gun readings were on him Saturday night. Hawk and DJ's silence on that matter spoke volumns to me.
  13. According to the SunTimes, Kenny accompanied the team to Oakland..... I don't know what this means, but I thought it was notable.
  14. Hypothetical situation here. Since it seems to be established that KW has been pulling on JM strings, maybe he has ordered JM not to run out of the dugout and argue with the umpire. It does not seem too far fetched to me.
  15. Was anyone at Saturday night's game? When Koch came in the game, someone pulled a long foul down the left field line off of him, then he gave up the 2 run homer. Hawk and DJ never said a word about what the radar gun was shoing while Koch was pitching. Yet, when Marte came in and struck out the side in the 9th, they were talking about Marte bringing it in there at 97 mph. I'm curious as to what kind of readings Koch was getting in the 8th. They sure didn't have any problems getting around on his pitches.
  16. It's already started ... one guy said it's a shame that HSC got run off, the next guy called her thin-skinned, hissy-fit throwing baby. The just can't stand it when HSC "scoops" them LOL
  17. I think Rogers has been reading our board, and HSC convinced him about Miles.
  18. Probably a Kieschnick win and grand slam.
  19. Ohmmmmmmm. Ohmmmmmmmm. Hey... this zen stuff works. LOL
  20. I didn't know that! When did that happen - who was involved - how did it come out? I'd like to hear the details on that story too.
  21. Dr J won one ring I believe, with the Sixers.
  22. I believe the MB problem goes back to Reinsdorf.
  23. I am not a fan of the sacrifice bunt. I hate giving up that out. You only get 27 a game. Hit behind the runner, run and hit, hit and run, steal, whatever to get him moved over, but at least you have a chance of the ball actually going through for a hit. Of course, I'm talking about the sacrific bunt in the AL. With a pitcher at bat, I'd bunt.
  24. Frank just looks lost up there. I wish he'd just try and hit the ball hard up the middle. I'll say this much, Frank was right on that strike 3 pitch in the 1st inning Sunday night. That pitch was inside.
  25. If nothing else, you are certainly consistant. LOL
