Along Garland needs is some confidence. That and a little more seasoningt, and he'll be a quality major league pitcher.

I've thought that making that change, putting him in the 2 hole, would help him. With someone on base and our big hitters behind him, he'd see a lot of fastballs.

No way in hell can I see trading Garland for him. Boston couldn't give Everett away. As you said Jason, this is Rogers proposal, not Williams. Let's hope Kenny isn't reading the Trib while in Oakland.

That was a mental mistake he made out there. He was gliding to the play and giving it the whole "under control" look instead of running to a spot, making the call, and making the catch. That is an attitude and hustle thing, not a fielding issue. And attitude problem and a lack of hustle. That's sweet. I'd prefer he'd hustled his ass of and then just dropped the damn ball. We're in a damn slump from hell, and this stupid jerk is not hustling?

The fact remains guys, is that we are under .500 and playing so all around poorly. We struggled to play .500 against the soft part of the schedule, and are now in the process of getting our annual hammering from the west coast teams. Some thing or some one may spark this team yet. But, I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.

The thing that madesense to me about the Koch deal, at the time, was that Koch was under our control for the next 3-4 years, where Foulke was a FA after this season. But then they sign Koch to a 3 year deal... Why couldn't they do this with Keith? And now with Koch throwing about 6 mph less than normal, he has been totally ineffective. So far this trade is looking more and more like the Todd Ritchie deal.

I believe we need a top notch left handed hitting RBI guy. To me that is the one single move we can make to improve this team the most. Of course, I'm only refering to players on the field.
