  1. How do we line up as far as starting pitchers for the Twins series? I hope we have Buehrle and Stewart set to go against them. I know we have Garland going on Saturday.
  2. This team is playing like JM manages..... has been since 2001 and I will continue to say that because of constant mediocrity and underachieving, JM must be fired before the end of April..... before it's too late..... if the White Sox plan on winning the AL Central. I'm starting to come around to your way of thinking on JM. The team hasn't shown any passion for quite some time now. I think we need someone that will light a fire under their asses and see who jumps.
  3. Or 5-1 against Detroit. How pathetic is it, to this point, that the only team to lose to Detroit is the White Sox ? You can include Oakland on the list of teams to lose to the Tigers. So does that mean we sweep the As? well lookin at the schedule im more worried about the first couple of weeks in may and all of june looks like a toughie ... if we survive through that ill be happy................ We have to play better, more consistant baseball than we are right now. If not, we are going to get our asses handed to us over the next few weeks.
  4. Maybe we need to send Aaron down till he finds his stroke. This may be after effects of the injury, like Frank's was last season. If that's the case, we can't afford to let Rowand scuffle along up here until he begins to hit. Bringing up Harris could cause a problem, as Jiminez is doing great in the lead off spot, though Harris could be a real threat there. I think we should send Rowand down, bring up Harris and bat him 8th, in front of Olivo and 9th when Alomar is catching. Having Harris on base will get Olivo some good pitches to hit, and he has enough speed so as not to clog the bases for DJ and JV. I like Rowand, and believe he can be a good ballplayer, but I'm afraid this injury he suffered is still affecting him.
  5. I still believe Miles can help us somewhere along the line. I like a guy that plays the game the way it should be played. Just because he spent 5 years in A ball is no reason not to give a guy a chance if he is producing now. Some guys are late bloomers, and Aaron Miles just might be one of them.
  6. Maggs keeps his mouth shut, doesn't draw attention to himself (ala Sosa) and plays the game exceptionately well. What's not to like?
  7. Bringing up another lefty in time for the Twins and A's is just a good move. JP will need to get some playing time or he will be totally useless to anyone, which is probably why no one claimed him of waivers. A couple of teams were poised to claim him at the end of ST, but his idle time has made him to big of a risk to put on someone's ML roster now.
  8. So far, you have to like what you see. He's never been an ace caliber pitcher before, so keep that in mind. However, he could be a pitcher's version of Luis Gonzalez and becomes a star in his 30's. Here's hoping that's the case..... BTW, this is post #1000 for me.
  9. If we have someone (Danny Wright?) that can step in and do a better job, then Garland needs to find his consistency in Charlotte. When you are supposed to be a contender, potential does not cut it. Performance does.
  10. rarely strike out????? which sox team have you been watching this month??????? lol .. carlos alone has 16, thomas has 11, maggs has 11.... we have like around 88 or so on the team as a whole.... thats alot.......im too lazy to see who has the most but im sure you can look it up.. were most likely around the top 5 or so...........our pen has problems and our defense sucks...for the most part.......our offense is starting to show signs of life but im not all that happy with everyone thinking they have to swing for the fences instead of going small ball once in a while............just mho though......... Heh, you're very wrong (about the strikeouts at least). 88 times is correct. Only the Cardinals and Orioles (wtf?) have less that us. And if you want to go on a per-game basis, we're actually #2 in the league behind only the Orioles. And if Loaiza can repeat his performance from his last game, we could be #1. And shockingly, we're in the middle of the field in terms of LOB too (I guess it just seems like we're leaving 10 guys on base a game ), and we're 10th in baseball in OBP. Overall, not a horrible start, but we need to get our big guns going soon (I'm getting sick of saying that!). Also, we've made 12 errors (lower half of baseball, and 1 more than the Yankees), we're in the upper half of DP's turned, and opponents are only 10 of 20 in stealing bases. LOL, the Phillies have allowed 48 SB in only 52 tries!! Sox pitchers are 7th best in terms of hits allowed, 13th in OBP against, 7th best ERA (3rd in the AL), and 7th in opponents' batting average against. Those numbers aren't too bad considering we've had our starters and bullpen guys have some REALLY bad games (Koch has had 2 horrible games, and Buehrle and Garland got rocked on Sunday/Monday), and our offense has really struggled so far (Frank and Konerko have yet to get hot). Things could be better, but they could definitely be worse. All those number SOUND impressive, but I have four words for you..... Royals, Tigers, Indians, Orioles. Let's see how those numbers look after some games against some of the AL big boys.
  11. I still cannot, for any reason, see taking the risk of intentionally attempting to hit someone in the head with a baseball at 95 mph. You can kill or maim someone that way. If Clemens intentionally beaned a White Sox player, then someone should simply kick his ass. There are ways to deal with things without putting someone into a coma.
  12. Internet Porn....... omg lol murc, but i highly doubt that one.. have you seen his lady friend???? and if he ever dumped her then he could always have me.. ill keep him busy and off the computer......lol ........its just a case of tendonitis and nothing more...........he should be ok......... You'll have him so worn out, he won't be able to play ball. He'll be 2 steps slow in the field, and have a slow bat. Wait till the off season, then you can work on his stamina! LOL
  13. Magglio is, pure and simply, just a damn good hitter. And when he gets hot, he's great. I can't wait till he gets hot.
  14. I'm for not rushing Harris. Let him prove himself over a period of time. Maybe he'll realize he has to do the job up here before he can stay. He had a chance and didn't get it done.
  15. Even though they were mauled by the Yankees, to the tune of 7consecutive losses, that moron still probably has them ranked #1. I agree with you Baggs... 2nd or 3rd at best, either team, either division.
  16. If Jiminez is putting up these stats and is only concerned with the peersonal aspect of things, then that has to change. It takes a TEAM to win. See Anahiem as an example. Hell, we'll have to start calling Jiminez "Little Sammy" if he plays with that "me" attitude.
  17. They need to pass it into law first. But, it is about time this was at least proposed. However, if I'm there when we win Game 7 of the Series, I guess I'll be spending some time in the slammer.
  18. Did your letter make it into print? I hope so, as we could use some national press that points out the true story and cuts through all the BS. Great job!!!
  19. Making a note of May 10-11. If we don't get two W's out of hat, we hold you personally responsible. Have a great time.
  20. Ummmm .... do you know something?
  21. Looks like a nice gutsy comeback win.

    Garland

I'm not against sending him down either, I'm just saying that it is too early to give up on him completely. Sending him down may just be the wake up call he needs. I seem to recall the working for Jack McDowell and Alex Fernandez, back in the day.
  23. Have you looked at the Sox schedule after the Baltimore series? ..... It looks tougher than Kc's to me. I wonder if Rosenthal of The Sporting News still has the Twins rated the #1 team in baseball.

    2010 Lineup

I think people are seriously overrating Josh Stewart...Hummel sucks and will never see the light of day in the majors and Valenzula's swing is too long. Just like people overrated Mark Buehrle?

    I gotta question

Remember this saying, it will help you as you get older: If it sounds too god to be true, it probably is.
