For the record, I read that Graffy did, indeed, elect to bunt on 3-2. However, I generally hate the sacrifice bunt in almost any situation. Especially in AL games. I'd rarely use that play unless it was a pitcher or a Josh Paul/Royce Clayton type at the plate. Graffy is too good of a contact man not to have hit and run when he was ahead in the count. I have no problem with White being in the game. Forget Arizona. White is and has been a good major league pitcher.

I agree. If anyone has a chance to slip up into the first two spots, it'll be Cleveland. They have some good young talent over there.

The new site looks ok to me. If we are able to keep this board, then everything will be cool. If we can't, then we will have a few problems. For example, to have a member profile, you have to register. And from what I've read, that requires some cash. Jason, I have a question that has been lingering in the back of my head for a while. This my have been asked, suggested or addressed at some point, but I haven't seen anything. Why not set up a page for members to upload personal Sox related pictures.... Players past and present, Old Comiskey, the new ballpark, some of the tailgate parties, etc. Of course, anyone uploading a picture of another member should get that members permission first. I think this could be a fun and interesting addition.

IMHO, affimative action was needed at one time in this country, but no longer. It has been about 40 years since the civil rights movement started, and close to 20 since forced busing began. A full generation of students have gone to school and had relatively equal educational opportunities. I know, that is not across the board, but it has certainly been tried for a long enough period of time. In fact, if anything, it hashelped bring down our educational standards as the educational professionals lowered the standards over the years to give the previously under-educated a chance to catch up. If the opportunities which were given were not taken advantage of, that is not my fault and I should not be kept out of a university or lose an opportunity for employment because I don't happen to be a minority.

God forbid anybody make this nation accountable for some of the horrible atrocities that it has perpetrated. I usually let you rant and rave and carry on without commenting, but one of the days, you are actually going to get out of school, maybe. You'll get out into the real world, hold down a job, raise a family. Then you will see what it is right, what is wrong, what is media BS and what isn't. In the mean time, carry on.

I hope he'll be fine... We are going to need Danny before this season gets too far along.

Lofton homers, Durham homers, even Clayton homers..... and we get shut out. The baseball gods are cruel to us Sox fans.

With Perdo arms problems the past couple of years, I'm sure they are trying to be extra careful with him. You have pitchers in the 'pen just for that purpose. I can see the BoSox doing exactly what they did. It makes sense to me. As for closers, I think the position is overrated. Too many saves are set up by the closer beginning the ninth inning and not losing the lead. That's a save??? Shouldn't be. He came in with runners on 2nd and 3rd, one out and a one run lead, then gets out of it... now that's a save.

We'll get the bats going Wednesday.... The team is just too good not to hit.

With what the Phillies paid Thome, and the Mets, Glavine... I the top of the line guys still getting the monterous contracts. The marginal guys, like 38 year old Kenny Rogers, are the ones that are going to get relatively shafted. Notice the word "relatively". I wish someone would shaft me to the tune of 2 million a year.

first game of the year and I'm already frustrated.

I hope our guys are professional enough to focus on what they need to do and play the game the way it is supposed to be played. -
We had 3 hard hit balls in the first inning. I thought we were going to light Hernandez up. Then, nothing.

That article was so rediculous, I couldn't even finish it.

Yep... those 40 something posts sure blow Steph's 300+ away.

Even the Cub fans get a break... remember that incident with the Dodgers bullpen? A couple of idiots pull that crap with Gamboa, and all Sox fans are thugs.

The only Sox player I can think of the I ever sincerely dislikedwas Jamie Navarro. I always wished the best for the rest. I only wished Navarro to be gone.

This sounds like a pretty good plan to me. I'm all for it.

Where's your faith? You're Enthusiasm? ...... Oh wait, this will be the regular season after all. Never mind.

Hope Josh Stewart is the real deal.
-
Sure it does. But when he got up to the bigs last year, he cut down on that big swing fairly quickly. I'm sure they are already working with him on being selective.
-
We don't need James Baldwin.
-
I disagree with you on Danny Wright. He's already proven himself to be a decent pitcher. If he can get his health back in a relatively short time, He'll be a solid ML pitcher. Jon Rauch still has a way to go yet.

The ignorant S.O.B should have considered that possibility before he made an ass out of himself on nationwide TV.

In the long run, this may very well lead to the downfall of the United States.
