I like how you have taken this to Bernie Sanders hates democracy. He is just like Stalin or something. Anyone can run against Sanders in the primary and in the general election. If they think they can beat him in a election than run for office.

I wish he would just officially be in the Democratic party, so I don't have to read another poorly written 1000 word piece about it. Although The Hill and Politico would have to lay off half of their staff.

I don't know why he remains an independent. I forget he is most of the time. Angus King does the same thing, it's a Northeast thing I think.

So, can't someone just run against him and beat him in the Democratic primary? Also, I'd love an example of how this compares to an authoritarian country.

I think most schools have at least some security measures. At my wife's school they have some of the basic stuff. Even if they put in metal doors, metal detectors and stuff like that. A kid or adult could just wait outside for that final bell and wait till all the kids come rushing out of the school. I'm actually surprised that hasn't happened yet.

Why do you think this doesn't happen in other countries? Canada doesn't have this problem. Their country is so similar to ours, that if I dropped someone in the middle of it, it would take them some time to figure out that they left America. Yet, no mass shootings.

So, what does the country have to do? If those things aren't the answer, what is?

I saw some coverage of the Teacher walkouts on Fox News. They were super nervous about it and compared the situation to Venezuela.

I like how any time a worker stands to make even slightly more money or have even basic job protections, Republicans come running to yell at them. Also, part of the reason we need a gig economy is because people aren't making enough money at their career.
