  1. Yeah, that's great, but where was she when Obama was deporting people at higher rate than any president in history? Also, every Democrat should be calling for the immediate end of ICE.
  2. Centrist Democrats are now the great defenders of social justice? Please.
  3. This article has it all. That wonderful quote from the very good person, Margaret Thatcher. Machine guns on top of a border wall to kill people trying to enter the country. Also, UBI is not socialist.
  4. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 09:56 AM) Dam said social issues don't matter to him. That's what I was addressing. And yes, the Bernie wing prioritizes economic policy over social policy, which is one of the reasons they struggle with minorities and marginalized communities. (As for DOMA/DADT/etc, Clinton did the best he could on that issue at that time, in that political environment. Activists kept working, and eventually, we got to a much better place. But progress is progress and it happens one stepping stone at a time) The left doesn't "prioritize" economic issues over social. You also seem to think they don't have anything to we each other. The idea that one issue dosen't affect the other is ridiculous.
  5. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 09:29 AM) What's the status of interracial and gay marriage in this country? What's the status of minority and female voting rights? What's the status of abortion rights? What's the status of the strikes for teacher pay in places like OK, WV, AZ, etc? You have a very skewed world-view my friend. Just because we're still fighting for social justice doesn't mean we haven't been winning those battles throughout history - including very recently. To say they don't matter to you is the height of white privilege. You are the prototypical Bernie Bro, and you are why a Bernie candidacy would be disastrous for the Democratic Party in 2020. It would hand Trump or Pence another term easily. But like you said, you'd rather have them in office if it means having a better chance of replacing them with a progressive afterwards, no matter how much damage they do to people who don't have the same privilege you do. Fortunately, you and I get to avoid most of the fallout from a Trump or a Presidency. Aren't we lucky? The difference is, I want to fight to fix that imbalance in the system, and you're fine with it because it doesn't hurt YOU, and you think it'll help you achieve your economic agenda ... at some point. That's pretty messed up, man. Do you think people on the left don't support gay marriage and interracial marriage? Who do you think was at the front of that movement back when centrists were bringing in the defense of marriage act. Strikes. Teachers striking is that what you think the left isn't supporting? You better look up the history of wildcat strikes. Also, the continued use of the word "Bernie Bro" is just something I don't understand.

  7. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 07:55 AM) Except for all the key issues that he's voted with Dems on under the Trump administration of course. Thanks for proving me right about Berners. Would you rather have someone who votes with you 70-80% of the time, or 0% of the time? In West Virginia or other southern states, I'd take someone who voted 70% of the time. In states like New York and California, I want closer to 100%. Also, what is a Berner?
  8. Trump administration bombing Syria is not a "wag the dog" or "distraction". He is just one in a long line of presidents who feel the need to bomb people. America never needs an excuse to bomb another country.
  9. I get Doug Jones in Alabama or Joe Manchin in West Virginia. You are lucky to have anything in those states and if those senators vote with you on even one thing, than it's a plus. I don't get Dianie Feinstein in California.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 12:34 PM) Aaron Curry, Chance Warmack, Robert Gallery and Andrew Luck were all “future HOF’ers” Not sure why you have Andrew Luck in that category. The only reason he won't end up in the HOF is if his shoulder stops him.
  11. Trump says missiles ‘will be coming’ to Syria, taunts Russia for vowing to block them Someone should tell him about Saudi Arabia and all the arms we sold them. The foreign policy of this country always has and always will be a complete fraud.
  12. QUOTE (Whitesoxin2019 @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 02:36 PM) Ok run along. I was talking about Kimmel. You chose to reply. OK, sorry sir.
  13. John Bolton having Trumps ear in situations like this is probably bad.
  14. QUOTE (Whitesoxin2019 @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 02:27 PM) Clearly Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel is Sexist, Homophobic and Racist. All the characteristics many of you accuse Trump of, but yet you defend Jimmy Kimmel. I don't care about Jimmy Kimmel. He's not running the country. That's not to say that if he acts inappropriate its ok. I've just never heard of anything he has done that has come any where close to what Trump has done. Which is at the very least sexual assault.
  15. Anyway, it seems like it is only a matter of time before this administration does something dumb in Syria.
  16. QUOTE (Whitesoxin2019 @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 02:16 PM) “When your clown makeup rubs off on Trump’s ass, does it make his butt look like a Creamsicle,” “Don’t worry – just keep tweeting – you’ll get back on top! (or does Trump prefer you on bottom?) Either way, keep your chin up big fella..XO,” This is not homophobic to you? You can always tell when you're hitting close to home because they break character and just start calling you a f***** instead of their normal smarmy routine. That idiot Kimmel is obsessed with genitalia and sex. I wonder how many women he raped or molested. Someone should look into that. Jimmy Kimmel go away, racist, sexist, anti-gay... Do you mean Donald Trump?
  17. Poor people = Lazy and want everything for free. Rich people = hard working and everything is being stole from them.
  18. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 06:17 PM) Bernie's economic plan is so flawed it doesn't really deserve the time of day but since it's "let's have the government have the government supply a bunch of who huge expense categories" a lot of people got behind it. He's like the 5th grader in student council who says he'll give longer recess and more root beer. I like how the belief that people shouldn't die or go bankrupt from a lack of healthcare or that workers should be making more money is similar to giving people more root beer.
  19. Feels like Mallex Smith has 9 hits today.
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 03:18 PM) Bernie wing Dems, do you see SS2k5 and raBBit both coming to your defense? Why do you think that is? Do they really agree with you on policy, or do they just want to undermine Democratic politics? Because Dam, GoSox, Sqwert, etc - you and these two could not be further apart on policy. I don't speak for them and I don't think they are running to my defense. I also don't think they trying to "undermine" anything. I would assume it's something along the lines that while they disagree on Sanders policies they respect that he is clear on what he believes and stands by it. Something like that.
  21. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 01:45 PM) Can you give me a single example from his time in Congress where he capitulated on a principle and compromised about something? Come on. I'm not going to waste my time building a hypothetical argument that could easily turn into a 10 page research paper. That's an unreasonable ask. We as voters make decisions like this based on the experience we have with the candidates, and I don't have to link you to the dozens and dozens of articles about Bernie's lack of expertise or interest in foreign policy. I'm sure you're aware that it's a weakness for him. Couple that with his immobility on issues once he does take a position and his track record of being impossible to work with in Congress, and that's how I've come to the decision I have regarding his aptitude with foreign policy. I don't think that's unreasonable. I didn't know it was a weakness for him. The criticism he usually gets about foreign policy are by people who have gotten us into some of the most disastrous conflicts over the past 50 years. He has been one of the few people that has defended Obama's Iran deal. He voted against the Iraq war which has left a million people dead. He criticized Israel as they just killed 15 protesters. So, from just those couple of examples, he would be pretty good. I don't think Bernie Sanders is great with everything when it comes to foreign policy, but he is certainly better than most. Also, the idea that he is stubborn and no one in congress can work with him. Please see the link below. Bernie Sanders Wants Congress to End U.S. Support for Yemen War. Saudi Lobbyists Fought Similar Measures Last Year.
  22. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 01:29 PM) I literally just explained why. Because he has no appreciation for context, compromise, tact, or the sensibilities of others. Those are three really important things while engaging in diplomacy with other world leaders who also have egos. Give me an example. Like if Sanders was president during the Obama years, what foreign policy decision would he have been horrible at? Or you could use a current situation as an example.
  23. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 12:29 PM) The fact that he can't appreciate context, and that he doesn't seem to understand that there's a time and place to say certain things and NOT to say certain things, is not going to do him any favors given his reputation with minority voters. It's just stupid, and it's part of the thing we hate about Trump. He can't not put his foot in his mouth, and it happens over and over because he thinks his opinion is more important than anyone else's all the time. Bernie doing foreign policy, for instance, would be f***ing awful. I'd love to know why.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 07:05 AM) Sanders/Kamala Harris shoot themselves in the foot https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/08/politics/ber...2020/index.html Yeah, I don't think those two things are going to "stalk" them for the next two years.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 11:50 AM) No. Beating Trump is priority #1. Even an avowed socialist will be better than this. Welcome, to the team comrade!
