Something tells me this will some how lead back to blaming teacher unions. I think most teachers are going flat out reject having to carry a gun. I think the unions will back them and then conservatives can blame them next time something happens. Congrats, the union is gone and now you make 25,000 a year and have to also carry a gun all the time. MAGA. Wayne LaPierre at CPAC calling Democrats "socialists". Wayne old buddy don't I wish.

The NRA sent Dana Loesch to that town hall. Shows you how much they don't care about any of this.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 20, 2018 -> 09:09 AM) lol if you don't think they'd be forced to pay for it out of their own pocket, along with training. and that there wouldn't be a substantial uptick in suicides and shootings, resulting either from hot-tempered teachers or from "oops where'd I leave my gun?" accidents. The other brilliant idea is just arming a bunch of unemployed vets and putting them at every school. What a complete hellscape world some people envision. Neither of these 'solutions' are being offered seriously, of course. It's just a way to appear like you at least care while changing the topic from any sort of gun restrictions whatsoever. Love to live in a country where we have to have armed soldiers in every school and any place large amounts of people gather. Have to live in a police state to make sure we are safe because someone wants to have an AR-15 as a hobby.

Mittens will do what all other Republicans do. Publicly come out and say they are disappointed in something awful Trump does. Then vote and back everything he does.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Feb 16, 2018 -> 08:09 PM) That 18 school shootings this year figure isnt exactly accurate... https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/no-the...m=.4e7203f9b404 Only in America could someone firing off a gun in a parking lot while a high school basketball game was going on be not a big deal.

Ben Shapiro foaming at the mouth talking about a super hero movie. Wow, this guy is a genius!

That article really says it all. He's dumb and is just there to annoy and flame the culture war bulls***. Same as someone like Tami Lahren or Laura Inghram. He offers nothing as far as real journalism goes.

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Feb 16, 2018 -> 11:22 AM) Overall, this country can not handle the rights afforded it by the 2nd amendment. To me the argument of "mass shootings are not about guns, they are about mental health" is comparable to "the civil war was not fought about slavery, it was about states rights" If this last shooting proves anything, it is that the system in place failed on many levels, including the mental health perspective. If we can't stop this guy Cruz with all the warning signs screaming at us, then we need a sweeping "knee jerk" repeal of the 2nd amendment; strict federal laws regarding firearms production, import, transport, sale, etc.; and implementation of rigid ownership restrictions at the state level. In the meantime, the lawsuits against gun manufacturers, distributors, etc. need to pile up and hit them in their pocket book while all recipients of NRA political donations need to be outed loudly and frequently. If they are going to do the bidding of the NRA, they need to be identified for their complicity. 100% agree. I think the talk of "mental health is the real problem" even at its most sincere is just so vague.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 15, 2018 -> 01:46 PM) You and Dick haven't addressed any of the particulars. I am saying it isn't a random incidence that's it. You guys are just naming other things and saying conspiracy a bunch to shut down discussion. Then you usually ramble off topic for a while. All your link says is police say "looked like" a robbery. That's it. You're naive for taking CNN's word for it. Keep doing the "move the thread" thing to shut down discussion you can't handle. I am a mod and have talked about shutting this thread down so it wouldn't become a catch all and it was decided to keep the thread open despite it being a catch all. I am waiting for you to police SS and caulfield on posting irrelevant stuff. I am sure you'll get around to it eventually. He's a creep. Look him up. He's been accused of sexual assault and you're comparing him to victims. Keep defending the assaulter. I just tried to look him up and the only stuff that pops up is the pizza gate stuff.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 15, 2018 -> 12:55 PM) A democratic IT Director being murdered in the middle of the night with no explanation, no suspects and gag order is much like the the parents who lost their kids in a tragedy and the "people" (there's one person) that own Comet Ping Pong? What are you talking about? And why are you comparing parents who lost their children to one of the most powerful people in DC who is alleged of sexual assault? It's pathetic that people completely ignore facts when it doesn't suit their agent. Just eat up whatever the corporate media tells them. They are all alike in that insane online conspiracy theories have invaded their lives. You said the owner of Comet Ping Pong is accused of sexual assault. Are you a pizza gater!?

I do wonder if things will start to change as millennials start to become a larger voting block.

Feel bad for his family that they have to consistently put up with this s***. Much like the families of Sandy Hook and the people that own Comet Ping Pong.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 15, 2018 -> 06:45 AM) What need’s to happen from a political standpoint to finally see some change here? What branches of the government do the Democrats need control of to actually get some policy done? I need some hope here, because right now it just seems like the entire government is a complete & epic joke that will never do anything about gun violence. I think the Democrats would need to hold a super majority to get anything passed, but they can't take control and use the bulls*** line "we are gonna pass sensible gun laws" or whatever they normally say. People need to start demanding they actually put forward an actual bill to ban the guns that are used in mass shootings. I honestly don't think anything like that will happen in our lifetimes, since conservatives refuse to do anything about banning guns. We need to look at other options. Schools should probably be on total lock down all the time. Metal detectors at every entrance. Classroom doors should have to be locked at all times when class is in session. Bulletproof windows on every door, inside and outside. I think a lot of schools have cops on duty, they will probably have to double or triple that. Probably shouldn't have kids ever in large groups at any time. Kids will have to go to school pretty much in a prison, so that some piece of s*** going through a mid life crisis can sit at home at night and polish his AR-15 while watching Hannity or whatever these people do.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 14, 2018 -> 11:29 AM) I will say it is surprising that Trump's alleged affair isn't getting more air time. Maybe it's just a product of the constant scandal, red alert, corporate news media blasting the sirens too often. Personally, I am not concerned with who a person is or isn't having sex with or rather who he/she should or shouldn't be having sex with. Especially when it pertains to something that happened years ago. I also don't buy the idea that a leader has to be representative of their voters. At least that never seems to happen. Trump's base is religious. Should he also be religious? Obama's base was people receiving aid from the government. Should he have also received aid? These people are politicians. It's their job to lie. Trump ran on running the government like a business, stopping the BS in the middle east and ending the pay for play capitalism. Trump has increased spending, emboldened the military and gave Saudi Arabia billions of weapons so they can bomb a cholera-ridden Saudi Arabia. Obama ran on protecting whistleblowers, closing Gitmo and ending the two wars. He attacked whistleblowers unlike any president before, Gitmo is still operating and he not only expanded the two wars but started another five. These people are liars and scumbags by trade. It's not partisan, it's not right and it definitely shouldn't be surprising. Lmao.

Drug Deaths in America Are Rising Faster Than Ever
GoSox05 replied to StrangeSox's topic in The Filibuster
Sad part is nothing is going to be done. Much like the situation in Puerto Rico. People are going to have wait until this administration is out of office, because they don't give a s***. -

Drug companies shipped nearly 21 million opioid painkillers to a town with 2,900 people Yeah, it's probably just the marijuana.... Jeff Sessions is parts evil, racist and dumb. It seems to be common in this administration. -
McDaniels must have been offered the head coaching job when BB retires. I doubt anyone outside the Patriots would hire him now. If the Colts have worries about Luck, they are actually in a good spot to get his replacement.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 6, 2018 -> 05:27 PM) Dear Leader is having the Pentagon plan a large scale military parade. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/tru...m=.2fbd132b4a99 Hell yeah, now the world will know we have a military!

Ranking the NFL head-coaching hires from 1 to 6 This article has aged well.....

I can't wait for Trump to call her a loser for losing both her legs in war and then for Republicans who usually worship anything military not say anything.

Why Did This Congressman Give A Holocaust Denier A State Of The Union Ticket? Yeah, definitely not a party that would support anything like that.

I think Tom Brady throwing for 500 yards yesterday and losing should put to rest the idea that QB's should have "W-L" by their names. Sure having a really good QB means you will probably win more than not, but it's not the only factor. I think If I gave people the stat line for Brad throwing 500 yards and 3 TD they probably assume Patriots won and by a decent margin.

As for the halftime show. Justin Timberlake makes easy listening elevator music and I don't get his appeal at all.
