  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 12:45 PM) Then the base needs to open their eyes because just pandering to the base could lead to more losses. I am probably the most pro-immigration person on this board. But shutting the govt down over immigration could really hurt Democrats/immigrants in the future. With Trump being President, the idea that immigrants are going to get a fair deal right now is a pipe dream. Im not sure what you want done at this point? Do you want Democrats to fight losing battles? Do you want immigrants to lose any empathy they may be getting? I dont want them to be deported, but I also have to live in a world where I dont believe in magic. So right now the best the Democrats can do is try and show how stupid the govt is about immigration. And not do something that will cause people to turn on immigrants. I'm the most pro-immigration person on this board, but oh well you are probably getting deported. Not my fall, blame the GOP. See ya.
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 11:22 AM) Sounds like the Dems have caved for vague promises from McConnell and the government will be reopened (for a few weeks) shortly God, they are so bad at this. Sigh.
  3. I think even if the Patriots had gone 3-4 in Super Bowls they would be considered one of the greatest dynasties in the NFL. People forget how hard it is to get to the Super Bowl every year. I think the Patriots have kinda of messed that up in a way. Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Tony Romo, Brett Favre, Dan Marino. All hall of fame players and three Super Bowl wins combined. Hell, John Elway didn't win his last two until the final two years of his career when the team was all about running the ball.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 10:54 AM) Every champion gets "lucky" at some extent. Even statistically, getting "lucky" that many times means you aren't really "lucky" anymore. Yeah, things have to go our way. You can look at a lot of championship teams and see things like that. Across all sports. Listen, I don't like Tom Brady and the Patriots. They are the evil empire that wins all the time. Dosen't mean they aren't good.
  5. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 10:24 AM) Of course the average QB stuff is nonsense, I hate Tom Brady. 2001-02 was a traumatic experience for me as a die-hard Bears fan and casual Raiders fan. To see my two favorite teams get screwed(Jim Miller getting pile driven into the ground by that DE from Philly in the 1st 10 minutes of the game and knowing they had no chance, to the infamous Tuck Rule) Bears were not beating the Rams anyway, but that is beside the point. The Tuck Rule game was the descent into a decade and a half of hell for the Raiders and I take great pleasure in seeing Brady fail(however rare that is) I took all of my disappointment in that season and have channeled it into wanting to watch Brady suck and epically fail. The past 16 years have been incredibly frustrating to me as a football fan. My "Brady Sucks" idea is more of a schtick than an actual football thought. Deep down I know the truth, I just will never admit it. It doesn't change the fact that 6/7 of Brady's SB appearances were literally one play from changing the outcome in the other direction, whether he won or lost. SB 39 vs. Philly was the only one that was a tall tall task for them to lose the game, as Philly was down 10 points with roughly 5 mins left in the game, IIRC. It is hard to say that his success is anything more than an incredible stroke of luck when one play could have changed the outcome of 4/5 of his wins. He's 4 plays from being one of the biggest SB losers of all time. Imagine if he was 1-6 in those SBs? What would people think of him? I wish I lived in that universe. Yes, but that didn't happen. They won those games and that's what makes them so great. Also, you could say the same thing about the two Super Bowls vs the Giants. The Giants literally needed miracle plays to win those games. Catching hail mary passes off your helmet by a career back up player kind of miracles. Patriots could easily be undefeated in Super Bowls. The idea that Tom Brady is average is one of the craziest things I've ever read about sports. Same with the idea that they just got "lucky".
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 08:46 AM) It is pretty crazy, of their 7 Super Bowl appearances under Brady, last year was the biggest final victory margin, and that was 6 points in Overtime. It's pretty crazy. You think one of those Super Bowls they would of just killed the other team. Like the 49ers win over the Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV. I think part of it is that Belichick/Brady really drive some of those teams to victory. Teams that really aren't that impressive. Look at the Patriots this year, if you took that same team and put another good QB and another good coach, but not Belichick/Brady with that team. They are probably a decent team, but not a Super Bowl type team. I think it's also a league thing. You just don't see the crazy blow outs in the Super Bowl as often. Still happens, but it's pretty rare.
  7. I think calling countries that America has had direct influence in why they are currently in the situation they are in "s***holes" is really a large part of the problem.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 21, 2018 -> 06:41 PM) Brady's incredible but Patriots in another sb is boring I tend to think the same thing, but you have to admit the Patriots Super Bowls have been pretty good. Couple games with winning field goals at the end. Even the losses had some crazy moments with Eli making insane plays. Crazy INT at the goal line. Overtime game. I'd say the one game they played that was really boring was the last time they played the Eagles. Even that game came down to the end. The Patriots vs Panthers is still one of my favorite Super Bowls.
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 07:49 AM) Humanitarian groups left water containers to prevent migrants from dying. ICE is vandalizing them https://t.co/QFxBBBHVQL This is absolutely disgusting. They need to go. ICE is trash under someone like Obama. Under someone like Trump they are a nightmare. Imagine them under someone like Tom Cotton.
  10. QUOTE (Whitesoxin2019 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 11:58 AM) If it’s white on black it’s called white supremist? How does one earn that title? What is black on white numbers at in comparison and do you have a label for that? These are in reference to people who have ties to white supremacist/Nazi organizations killing people base on those views. The point of linking that article is because you often read online about how dangerous a group Antifa is, but in truth they aren't and the actual violence in coming from Alt-Right/Fascist groups.
  11. QUOTE (Whitesoxin2019 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 11:36 AM) Nobody seems to get the point. As long as the media is s*** and people feel they are being lied to Trump will thrive. I mean come on folks. If Trump is as bad as we think he is why not play it straight above the fence? Why use photo shops, edit videos, peer pressure, shaming etc etc Nobody can answer this, specifically the tragedy that is CNN. I think they only help trumps popularity. “But FOX news” yeah they are s*** too. But I can tell you from an independent point of view CNN takes the cake. Stick with the issues guys. I was more inclined to vote liberal 20 years ago but all the white shaming, media deception, gang mentality, violence (yes I do think the violence from antifa is severaly underreported), I see them as communists. Say what you will about Trump, but until these things get fixed y’all don’t have much leg to stand on. Also a new trend I noticed with the left side is lack of compromise. You won’t admit being 1% wrong. It would be refreshing to hear if trump ever does something good because he has done good. I don’t agree with all the bullet points under the fake news awards but a more than a few items stick out in my mind as unquestionably true. The shame with networks like cnn though is even if he does lie, how can I believe it? "violence (yes I do think the violence from antifa is severaly underreported)" This is s*** I read online all the time. The violent antifa!!!!!! Meanwhile in America - Murders by white supremacists in US more than doubled in 2017 But you know a dude from antifa lit a garbage can on fire one time.
  12. I'm going to say this was probably not one of the worst situations in human history. I think that would be the time people actually got hit with a nuclear bomb.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 11:00 AM) This thing about Trump and the porn star could get interesting. His wife could leave him over something like that. That would shake things up even more in this travesty of a presidency. I think it's funny how quiet Evangelical Christians are about this. President was having an affair with a porn star and then paid her to keep quiet. Can't wait to hear people like Jerry Falwell Jr. preach about the moral chaos we are living in today because you have to sell a cake to a gay couple.
  14. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 08:06 PM) Nah. This is the one that triggered people into thinking the accusations are getting a little out of hand. It's great this whole thing has raised awareness and there's a large scale discussion about redefining acceptable behavior, but some of the accusations are hollow. Ansari did nothing wrong other than being not exactly suave. Pretty much every thing I've heard/read from the general public has agreed. Except that he kept grabbing her hand and putting on his crotch. So, it wasn't just bad sweet talk. He was clearly trying to pressure someone into having sex with him that seemed to be pretty clear they didn't want to.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 16, 2018 -> 05:57 PM) Seahawks DC Kris Richard officially fired today. Found that to be odd as so many of his blue chip players on defense were out, including Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Cliff Avril. I don't know if he is going to get another DC gig, but I would love to see come to the Packers.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2018 -> 09:35 PM) ICE is garbage.
  17. There was some really bad calls on the Saints early in the game. There was one play where the Saints CB didn't even touch Diggs and they called PI. I think the NFL needs to take a look at PI flags. Maybe do a minor one for 15 yards and a major that spots the ball. You can't have a PI that the CB barely even touches the WR and it turns into a 50 yards penalty.
  18. Half of Case Keenum's throws are just him throwing the ball in the air hoping his guys get it. I feel like he should have thrown like 3 or 4 picks yesterday. I don't know if he is just getting lucky or his WR are just making crazy plays.
  19. With Support From Nancy Pelosi, House Gives Trump Administration Broad Latitude to Spy on Americans Thanks, Nancy!
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 12, 2018 -> 05:30 AM) Trump is cancelling his trip to London, and according to him it is all Obama's fault. He was going to cut the ribbon on the new US embassy, but he said Obama sold the old one for peanuts and moved to a bad location. The very stable genius might be surprised to learn the decision to move was under the Bush administration. They can't even get their bulls*** story right. He can't go to London because there would massive protests. Really the only places he can still go is Saudi Arabia, Israel and Alabama.
  21. I'd love to know what Trump knows about Norway. Besides they are white.
  22. Regardless if your supporting a family or a college student you should be properly paid for your labor.
  23. I think if a player is dominant at their position, regardless of what that position is they are worth taking early in the first round. Outside of punters and kickers.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 10, 2018 -> 01:15 PM) Wow. Don’t remember him having that kind of reputation when he was here. But uh, welcome back. Maybe we draft that ridiculously good ND guard I'm not sure about taking guards that early in the draft, but I think Quenton Nelson might be worth it. He is really good. There is also a video of him choke slamming a blitzing LSU linebacker, it's pretty crazy. I'd imagine it's what you would want from an O-lineman.
