  1. Yeah, it would be crazy to predict that the guy who calls the media "the enemy of the American people" will probably be bad towards journalism.
  2. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 12:31 PM) I notice you didn't broach any of my direct complaints towards the Obama's administration activity. Safe to assume you agree there? Greenwald speaking on his rights and Obama's administration threats being the hold up to him returning to the US. I never said anyone killed Breitbart. Breitbart had no drugs in his system when he died. Not sure of the relevance of the drugs/alcohol you brought up other than to malign his character. Yeah, he's a crook for donating to a friend in a way that was outside of the technical campaign law. Perhaps he should have done his research and had his friend speak at an event and just paid her charity the money. He didn't do that so he was held to the law. It's just curious that this is the only time we hear of a mainstream figure being guilty of campaign contribution fraud. D'Souza was a victim of selective enforcement. Anybody who is free of any stringent ideological affiliations can see that. I don't like the guy either, though I respect his immigration and perspective on his immigration, but I am able to see past his politics to see that he was selectively held to the law in a crony capitalism system that is infested with bulls*** financing. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/m...-dinesh-dsouza/ "The senators quoted Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, a liberal who said, “I can’t help but think that [Mr. D'Souza‘s] politics have something to do with it… . It smacks of selective prosecution.”" I wasn't criticizing that stuff about Obama. That is true and is probably going to be 10x worse under Trump. I just think you can criticize things that administrations are doing to the media/journalists without going down the conspiracy theory road.
  3. QUOTE (brett05 @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 12:23 PM) Probably done by the paid liberals It was actually me. George Soros pays me 10 million dollars to pretend to be a Trump supporter and harass journalists.
  4. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) If you don't have a real response why even respond? Cause it's conspiracy theory nonsense. Greenwald has said many times that he lives in Brazil because his husband lives there. He's not in exile. Breitbart had a history of heart problems and drug/alcohol abuse. No one killed him. Dinesh D'Souza is a crook and that's why he went to jail.
  5. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 12:01 PM) Okay. I am less concerned with the testimonial stuff and more concerned with palpable action. Kinda reminds of this Spongebob episode with people freaking out about stuff Trump hasn't even done yet: . The media and the treatment of journalists is a very important issue to me too and especially since the media has basically lost all of its journalistic roots. I was very much upset with President Obama's treatment of the media. Whether you're on the left or the right President Obama went after journalists on both sides. If you're on the left - Glenn Greenwald got pushed out to Brazil and they held his boyfriend captive for a while. Laura Poitras got pushed out to Germany. Michael Hastings was investigated by the FBI up until the day he died. If you're on the right, Andrew Breitbart and his coroner ended up dead shortly after he attacked Obama. Dnesh Dzsousa (spelling? I don't know him much) was subjected to specific enforcement of campaign law because of his opposition to Pres. Obama. President Obama used the Espionage Act more than all other Presidents combined. The Committee to Protect Journalists called Pres. Obama's administration "the most aggressive" since Nixon's admin. If you don't like Trump's rhetoric, that's fine, and I would never defend it anyways. But the fact that you're preemptively attacking for Trump for something he hasn't even done is a bit confusing. Especially when all of my complaints towards Pres. Obama's admin against the press were disputed heavily around here. If we're all being honest, if Trump and Sessions actually wanted to restrict the media (which remains to be seen), Pres. Obama's administration has laid the groundwork for them. Hell, for the sake of continuity, if it was their plan to restrict the media, the best course of action would be to adopt the Obama administration's policy from the go. This is a lot of conspiracy theory stuff.
  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 08:59 AM) Trump's Yemini raid that killed a Navy SEAL and an 8 year old girl also killed a US-friendly local tribal leader. https://apnews.com/d927fc2962f44a6d8edf6a790b556bbc What America, Saudi Arabia and other countries are doing in Yemen is a disgrace. This isn't just a Trump thing, goes back to Obama.
  7. Why is he holding a rally in Florida on Saturday? Is that a normal thing presidents have done in the past?
  8. The Russians are coming! Just like Red Dawn all over again.
  9. Grammys are the worst. They have a long track record of giving awards to bad music. Milli Vanilli won a damn award.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 09:54 AM) Board Question: There was a decent article sometime back comparing how Trump could end up like Jimmy Carter, in that Carter fumbled his relationship with a majority dem congress so badly nothing of substance passed. If tax reform and ACA measures can't get passed (say takes too long then Dems gain the House in 18), do we see it as remotely possible Trump would be primaried? I think there would have to be something major happen. Some scandal that not even they could hide from. Which seems almost impossible at this point. This doesn't seem like the group to challenge Trump. Who would even challenge him? Someone like Rubio. Trump would crush him. Look at how they voted for his cabinet. YES - 412 NO - 3 CabinetVotes.org Republicans know how to fall in line.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 08:44 AM) GoSox Flacco Lmao. s***. For the record, I do not think Joe Flacco is pretty. "logs off forever"
  12. For the record I don't think he is a hall of famer. I do think he is a pretty qb though. The year he won the Super Bowl, he was very good. In the playoffs he threw 11 touchdowns and 0 INT.
  13. "He would have never won any Super Bowls without Brady" You could say that with just about every coach. Wouldn't have won without their hall of fame QB. 51 Super Bowl winners. 41 have been won with hall of fame quarterbacks or will be hall of fame quarterbacks. 42 if you consider Joe Flacco a hall of famer. The others had historically good defenses. Bears, Bucs, Giants, Raiders, Redskins.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 02:46 PM) Yeah...he figured that the best QB of all time can make a good coach look like a genius. I'm fairly certain if you gave Aaron Rodgers to Lovie, he'd look like a genius too, same with a lot of other coaches. Not knocking Bill, but I tend to believe he gets more credit then he deserves. The Pats have made their fare share of bad moves, including the Chandler Jones trade. They also let Wes Welker walk to sign Amedola and in hindsight I think that was a poor move. I think he is a genius. Just because you have a hall of fame QB doesn't mean you are always going to the Super Bowl. Packers have Aaron Rodgers and have been to one Super Bowl. Same with Drew Brees, hell he can't even get back to the playoffs. Payton Manning only went to three and the last one almost had nothing to do with him. The fact that the Patriots have made it to 7 Super Bowls with him as coach in this free agent era is maybe the greatest accomplishment in the history of the NFL. 7 Super Bowls!!! That is just crazy. I will die happy if the Packers can just get back one more time with Rodgers. I couldn't imagine going 7 times.
  15. I try not to compare anything the Patriots do to what other teams are doing. They may have the best coach in the history of the game. Everything they do is unique to them.
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 7, 2017 -> 11:56 AM) Pointing out that Milo advocates for harassment and violence against some minority groups, doxxes specific people at his events, and that one of his followers recently murdered a protester at another event seems pretty relevant to talking about the protests against Milo at Berkeley. It wasn't some random "conservatives are bad too!" event but something that involved the same man at the center of it. This is what I was trying to say with that post.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 7, 2017 -> 08:54 AM) Man that article in the Trib about the tiny town in Wisconsin is so sad. It shows how much marketing and slogans can drive votes. They are quite literally even more f***ed the next four years. I think it also shows the desperation of some people in this country. None of the people interviewed in the article really seem to even like Trump that much. These aren't the MAGA people running around foaming at the mouth for Trump. The people in the article they interviewed just have nothing left to lose. Broke, unpayable debt, sick, no jobs, no future. What do they care if the country goes to s***. They already live it.
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 04:07 PM) They're pushing into "big lie" territory. How many times did Conway talk about the "Bowling Green Massacre"? At least three was the last count I saw. It's such a stupid thing to lie about and really makes them come off as insane, but there are probably now lots of people in this country that believe there was a Bowling Green Massacre and refugees did it and the media just didn't report it.
  19. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 06:09 PM) Your link is from days before the Berkely shooting... I know. It was from a protest when he visited a different university.
  20. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 4, 2017 -> 01:48 PM) Anyone see those protesters from Berkeley? Surprised it hasn't been brought up. Pretty vicious stuff from the extremists at that school. Jumping people they don't agree with, fires, destruction of property, etc. One of Milo's cult fans shot someone at one of these protests. Shooter sent Facebook message to Breitbart’s Milo Yiannopoulos before gunfire at UW protest, police say Not as vicious as those Berkley "thugs" setting a garbage can on fire or breaking a window....
  21. I think you could argue that if the Falcons just ran a couple of boring run plays those last two drives they probably win the game. On that 3rd down that Ryan fumbled. Had they just run it with one of their really good running backs or thrown a quick pass, even if they don't get the first down. You probably eat up a minute or so of time and try a field goal which pretty much ends the game or even if you punted and made the Patriots drive 90 yards down the field. It was an amazing collapse and I bet the Falcon coaches are getting sick watching the game film. Dan Quinn is a good coach and I think Kyle Shanahan will be good, but they might have been in a little over their heads last night vs Belichick.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 08:50 AM) This was the largest margin of victory by either team in all 7 of his Super Bowls. 6 points. I'm kinda sick of seeing the Patriots in the Super Bowl, but you have to admit all of the 7 Super Bowls they have been in have been great games. Vs Rams and Vs Panthers are two of my favorite Super Bowls.
  23. Also Tom Brady is probably the greatest of all time, if not at least top 3, but he should be 3-4 in Super Bowls. Last two wins had a lot to do with other teams totally choking in multiple ways.
