  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) PH Swish for Uribe, put him in LF and bring in Fields to play 3rd for Wise. Double switch. Kinda wish Getz wasn't hurt. Would rather have him at 3rd than Jos. Agreed. I don't think we'll do that though.
  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) Bull.f***ing.s***. Go back and read the Vazquez starting Game 1. Most everyone said it was the right call, and it made sense. Players need to preform. Whatever you say. Players DO need to perform, but at the same time, Javy has almost never performed in the clutch. So for anybody to be surprised at his performance today is just a case of having your head in the sand.
  3. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) Do the Rays fans know that a foul ball on strike two is not an out? Probably not, mostly bandwagoners at the game.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) And if Ozzie started Richard today, with Vazquez being fresh, and Richard got rocked, he wouldn't hear the end of it. Not from me, and not from a lot of people on this board. The only people that would have ripped him had that happened would have been uninformed ones. Again, I don't blame him for starting Javy, but I'd have started Clayton.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) It's so strange, but I think I was much angrier when the Sox were losing last week than I am right now. I felt like we blew our wad the last 3 games....and thank Quentin we made it to the playoffs at least. As we've been saying, making the playoffs is better than not. Even if the Sox get swept, I'll have extremely positive thoughts about the 2008 season. Agreed. I'm mad at Javy, but I've been mad at him for weeks now and he's earned it. Other than that, I agree with this post.
  6. Richard pitching well right now doesn't mean he'd have been great to start the game....Tampa knows they are in great shape and it's a different animal pitching to them right now. This is good news Richard is pitching well though, HOPEFULLY Ozzie and Kenny see the err of their ways and make Richard the #4 starter if we make the ALCS.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) Yep, Maddon made a brilliant managerial decision by starting Shields today and Kazmir tomorrow. He knew the situation Ozzie was in with the rotation, and he was able to match up Kazmir against a better pitcher in game 2 than who Shields would have to face. In all honesty, that's more common sense than brilliance. Any idiot knows Javy can't pitch in big games and was a lock to be useless today.
  8. Just a bad performance today by everything; pitching, offense, and defense. But with Captain Choke on the mound, it was hard to expect a victory. Gotta get game 2 now, pressure is all on us.
  9. If Javy Vazquez ever starts again for the White Sox, Ozzie should be fired. Unless KW decides to start Javy, in which case he should be fired. Thanks for nothing Javy. Hopefully I never see your waste of talent on the mound again in our uniform.
  10. Somebody wake Ozzie up and tell him the bullpen needs to come in.
  11. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) this is a winnable game I don't think anybody would argue that at this point. But as long as Javy is in, it might not be winnable for long. Then again, if the middle relief comes in, it might not be winnable for long either.
  12. How long are we going to leave him in? This is the postseason Ozzie, not June.
  13. How long are we going to leave Javy in? Javy on the mound in a big game is like the guy at the swamp teasing an alligator. The gator might get him right away, the gator might take a while, but eventually, he's going to get him and kill him. We already died once, hopefully Javy is out before we do again.
  14. Well 4 ER in 6 innings is a 6 ERA. So even if that best case senario occurs, it's still a bad outing. 6 ERA's don't win playoff games.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:40 PM) Im watching the game where Bartlett hit a weak grounder to third for a single. Im watching the game where the Rays went to sacrifice on the next pitch but instead Maddon out manages Ozzie and has Iwamura swinging. Im watching the game where the Sox continue to pitch to Longoria with 2 outs. Could Javy done better? Sure. But the facts are in this case he is not being put in a position to succeed. Outside of what 3 hits no one on the Rays has even come close to hitting the ball hard? Other than the two crushed homers by Longoria, the two 450 foot shots that were foul by about 5 feet each by Floyd, the double, and the sac fly, they really haven't hit the ball hard. So I guess you are right.
  16. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:40 PM) Okay, these Parents TV Council ads about blocking TV shows are even more annoying than Frank TV. The Council should block Javy Vazquez outings to homes with young children.
  17. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) Well I'm sure everyone would be saying that if he was pitching. Typical Soxtalk rule. No. Jose stopped getting people out because his stuff has seen a significant decline with every passing day since 2005. Javy doesn't get people out because he's a mental midget and doesn't care. Big, big difference.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:34 PM) That inning wasnt on Vazquez. The first hit if Uribe plays back is maybe an out. Iwamura goes to sacrifice on the first pitch so on the second pitch they called a fastball for him, unfortunately he was swinging. Longoria, Ozzie is retarded why are we even going after him, we should be working around him and letting the rest of the team beat us.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:31 PM) Dude. I hate Vazquez, but wishing death on him is very wrong. There is just about no ill that could fall on him that would make me feel bad at this point. Sorry.
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:30 PM) Why are people asking for Clayton? Bring in Floyd. What the hell is wrong with you people? Pitch a guy on two days rest in game 1 of the playoffs?
  21. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) Javy's gone completely downhill since this time last season. And to think, he was probably our best pitcher also. Of course he has. He's a gutless coward, so he is great when it doesn't matter. When the chips are on the table, well we know what happens. It's almost a shame Wise hit that 3 run home run today, because it's a total waste with Javy pitching.
  22. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) Vazquez is a train wreck No, Vazquez needs to be involved in a train wreck.
  23. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) Well I wouldn't go that far. But I think he'll be shopped around come the off-season FWIW. Now would you go that far? If his plane home crashes after the season, I'll have to really work at it to feel bad.
