Yanks vs. Indians
I can't believe that ball Peralta hit didn't leave, some bad luck there, however I believe the run Cleveland DID get was bug aided, so it evens out. I've never seen a bug delay before this game I do not believe, what a classic so far.

Not only was this clever spoof done during their regular season meetings, as seen here, apparently they did this during both games the last 2 days as well. Gotta love the D-Backs marketing guy who came up with that.

Yanks vs. Indians
Same old Yanks, first half trouble, second half run, and get to the playoffs only to find out their pitching sucks and they can't win. I fully expect Cleveland to take this series, and maybe one day the Yankees will learn how important pitchng depth is.

2007 Attendance was strong
It's going to be way down next year, because the season ticket and Ozzie plan and all those plans will have way less people involved with them. The 2005 effect will be gone starting in 2008 in terms of attendance, and I hope we're good next year or else payroll is going down as a result.

Gotta give props to Rowand44, he hit the nail on the head in regards to the Phillies.

I think it's pretty clear Rollins is the MVP as is, but when you look at Holliday's Coors Field/away splits, it becomes even more obvious that Rollins should win the award.

I hope the Phillies win simply because I think this could be a classic 5 game series if they do.

The real NL MVP with a solo HR and a 2 run triple, and the Phils lead it.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:33 PM) His hat had a wet spot on the brim on the top. It was wet from his sweat on his hands. Nothing of concern really. That's my point, sweat is not a foreign substance, and if it was, Freddy Garcia would have been banned for life from baseball in about 1999.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) Hahaha. Cubs fans are accusing Webb of having grease on his hat. No matter that he was wiping his sweat on the brim of his cap, he OBVIOUSLY was cheating. Also they are accusing the Dbacks ground crew of softening up the dirt in front of the plate to help his ground balls. First of all, I don't know what the hell they are talking about in regards to Webb, and I watched very closely. Second, without that dirt in front of the plate the Cubs get shut out. Also, Carlos Marmol my friends is in deep s***. The D'Backs did the same thing Florida did about a week ago, and that is expose Carlos. All he EVER does is throw early count sliders, almost never in the zone, so if you take them and get ahead in the count, he throws hittable fastballs. That led to the home run that won the game by Miguel Cabrera last week, and also the home run that won the game by Reynolds last night, uh oh. And of course, finally, the Cubs logic with Zambrano is stupid as they are now HUGE underdogs no matter what in this series because unless they plan on winning 3 in a row, they'll have to win game 5 AT Arizona with Webb pitching (good luck).

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) Great job CoJack! Another bad managing move, as Jackson is a contact hitter. Should have walked him to get to Young, who would have a tough time hitting Marmol. I was thinking the same thing, I was shocked there wasn't an IBB there. They had Eyre warm too, so if you walk Jackson and K Young, you can use Eyre for Drew. I'm shocked at how bad a night Lou has had.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 09:44 PM) How golden would it be if Augie Ojeda turns out to come up with a key play that kills the Cubs in this series? Well that didn't take long, at least in regards to potentially killing them in a game. Nice job by Jackson there getting that insurance run in. Come on Chris Young!!!! Ah well, got a deuce. Hold on D'Backs!!!!

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) To have him ready for 3 days rest. However, if they were going to pull him early, they should have had a ph for him with the bases loaded. Yeah he's ready for 3 days rest now, but their 6 outs from losing against Webb and one of the best bullpens in the league. It's October, if your worrying about pitch counts and 3 days rest, your making a major error. Lou has managed a horrid game tonight.

MARK FREAKING REYNOLDS!!!! Lou Pinella has A LOT of questions to answer tomorrow, why on earth did they take Z out and why did they not have Z bunt earlier??
-
D-Backs Cubs Series thread
I'm bewildered as to why Z is out. He's not due up here anytime soon (and he hit the ball hard anyways), he only threw 6 innings and 85 pitches. I also doubt he'd have cramps, it's Phoenix so the humidity is absolutely zero, plus the Cubs don't have the bullpen depth to just do this for the heck of it when their starter is pitching really well.
