  1. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 08:58 AM) With all the talk about Jeter and A-Rod, what is being missed is that Cleveland was and is just a better baseball team. Well Cleveland has a much better starting rotation, a much better bullpen, is a better defensive team (although that's not saying much, Cleveland isn't great and NY is awful), and has a lineup that can at least tread water with the Yanks. But besides those small details, the Yankees obviously choked. One day people will get the fact that talent, not payroll, determines the best teams.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) HAHAHAHAHA. Its amazing the uproar in the other thread about KW trading Chris Young, but people think its a great idea to deal Josh Fields? Ridiculous. It bewilders me too. Outside of stolen bases, they are basically the exact same player offensively, and we did get a pretty damn good starter who will be on our team for several years in return for CY.
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) It's fun to be in Texas You all are too damn nice, but the women look great and it's warm more often than not, so I'd think you are right.
  4. Those who are dismissing the Cowboys chances next Sunday seem to forget what happened last year when an unstoppable looking and undefeated force that went on the win the Super Bowl visited Texas Stadium last year....
  5. The good Romo/bad Romo Rex reference died on the last 2 drives when, unlike Rex, he overcame his mistakes and led his team to victory. The thing with Rex is he is mentally very weak, I have yet to see him ever have a game where something went wrong and he came back to help his team overcome it and win. As we saw last year, anytime the Bears won during one of Rex's bad games, it was due to the special teams and defense (SEE: game at Arizona and vs. Minnesota at Soldier Field). Romo managed to have a respectable 30 for 50 night and 302 yards, while leading his team to a TD and field goal inside 2 minutes to win the game in a hostile road enviornment. Almost NOBODY would have the stones to be able to come back and do that after turning it over 6 times, however Romo does, as has Favre his entire career, and that is where the comparisions come in. Nobody is saying Romo is Favre, they are just saying he has a lot of similar traits to Brett Favre circa 1994, and that is a fair point.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 11:01 PM) Two forced fumbles was nice, but he was repeatedly beaten in the first half. So was every single player on the defense, they had 340 yards at halftime. But without those 2 strips, the competitive phase of this game would have been completed by halftime.
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) Congrats to Brett Favre on becoming the all time leader in INTs with that last one. Haha well it did technically tie the record, but still awesome.
  8. Wow, that is unreal. If the Bears beat Green Bay when they visit Soliders, they have a shot in the NFC North now. This one could be looked back upon and remembered for a long time.
  9. WOW, Turner waits 58 minutes and pulls THAT one out of the bag of tricks. I got to give him credit.
  10. So they won the challenge, and keep the timeout, but it's still a first down. Or I think that's how it works, because they did move the ball back. Either way, they got it.
  11. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 10:26 PM) So if the Bears are short, should they go for it? I would, but they wouldn't.
  12. They might actually win this challenge, but if they don't, GB is out of challenges (they missed one earlier) and have to use a timeout. This is HUGE.
  13. Haha the draw actually worked, the Bears are now a gaudy 2 for 14 on 3rd down. This is even more bizarre than the Arizona game, I mean Arizona basically gave that game away in a matter of 3 plays (2 defensive TD's and the Hester return I believe), whereas this has been gradual ruining of domination.
  14. Olsen got away with a blatant push off, but I'll take it. And wow, that was a wimpy run by Benson, there was way more than 6 available on that play.
  15. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) GB ain't gonna do anything this season unless they correct thier penalty problems. They basically clinch the NFC North if they win this game.
  16. Green Bay is -3 in turnovers and has 12 penalties for 93 yards, as well as 42 yards this entire half. And they are still tied. If that doesn't tell you how bad the Bears are, nothing will. This game has been given to the Bears on a platter, and they can't take it.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 10:15 PM) Thanks, and BTW, who's on the rumored list to replace Novak? He'll be gone after this year. Yeah, it's been known for about a year he'll be gone after this year, which is why the team has quit on him and why recruiting has been bad. It's kind of like what happened when Henson retired at Illinois in 1996 in basketball, stayed a couple years too long and killed the program. The list to replace Novak is so long I couldn't even being to list for you who is on it, I've been told there are at least THREE DOZEN people they'd want to talk to. Ask me for a list once Joe actually retires.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) Better as the game goes on eh? Hard to run when the five 40 year old guys on your offensive line don't block. Benson still appears to be a bust, but his line is a joke.
  19. Griese has the most attempts without winning a playoff game.
  20. This might be the worst coached half I have ever seen in terms of what Green Bay is doing on offense.
  21. The idea that Griese is a veteran who doesn't make the mistake is such a myth, and is being proven out the last 2 games. He's notorious for making stupid throws as well, and has been his whole career.
  22. I am bordering on beginning to wonder if the Packers are fixing this game, I've never seen an NFL self destruction like this by a team with such a good record against a team that is so bad. And now Griese gives it right back, lol. Wow.
  23. The Packers just refuse to throw down the field anymore, and I have no idea why. They've abandoned everything that has made them so good this year and for parts of tonights game.
  24. The amazing part about Benson is Thomas Jones actually has just about identical numbers to Cedric so far. They just are both mediocre backs taht need a superb line to do anything it appears.
  25. ANOTHER 3RD DOWN DRAW. Turner.........lmao. And Gould does his thing, it's 20-20 with 14:13 left in the 4th. I have never seen an NFL team get dominated this bad and still be tied in the 4th quarter before, I just can't believe the Packers will continue to give it away. At some point they'll remember they are better and win this I'd think, but I hope that I am wrong.
