QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) Please -- somebody outline a reasonable offseason scenario that would have us -- RIGHT NOW -- competing with Detroit and Cleveland. It doesn't exist, which is the whole problem in the first place. No matter what we did this offseason, we were a 3rd place team, which goes back to poor drafting, poor depth, and poor general talent in the organization. KW has been our GM since 2001, so that all goes on his desk.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) Freddy's MRI today showed fraying of the rotator cuff and a problem with the labrum. Which I would bet started around the time his velocity went down.

QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) Thank you, sir. Can you tell that I'm angry? Yeah. Kinda. You really explained, in 1 paragraph, why this team is where it is.

QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) That's me. I'm ripping him. I'm not blaming him for tonight. But I am ripping him. Because 3 times a game, he leaves it up, and he gets rocked. If no one's on base, it's 3 runs. If Mr. Nibbles happens to put a couple of guys on beforehand, it's 5 or 6 runs. I'm tired of it. That guy symbolizes every mistake Kenny Williams has made -- his total fixation on guys, regardless of their abilities and track record; his belief that he's smarter than everyone else about "the market;" and his conviction that the organization he built can "fix" guys. Jesus, man, how about this: develop some players, reward the guys who have done something for the team (not those you think MIGHT), and stop b****ing about the world as it is -- just deal with it. Well done!! *applauds*

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:55 PM) whats his injury? why is he playin if hes still hurt ? He hurt his shoulder/neck area in a collision several weeks back and has mostly been DHing as a result.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Wow....and you say I'm the party pooper? No, that is reality. I've never seen a bullpen as bad as ours.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) Reasons to watch the games: - root for Fields to progress and show signs he can play 3b for next 5 years or so - watch the development of Danks - see if Terrero can possibly turn into an everyday starter in the majors - watch Boone Logan adjust his belt after every pitch - follow Thome's chase for 500 homers -See if the bullpen can be the worst of all time.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:20 PM) And f*** him for not realizing this team would hit .235 in the first part of June. At what point do we blame somebody for these crappy players and stop calling it bad luck? QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) I'll always watch the games no matter what. Not sure on how many more I will be attending though. Ditto.

QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:20 PM) Here's a rarity for me lately: I'm going to defend Kenny Williams. I have no idea what, if anything, he was offered for Crede. But, as a general idea, I was in favor of holding onto Joe. He's one of those core guys -- gritty, very good defender, outstanding in the clutch, and seemingly key to the makeup of this team when it's been at its best. Just a hunch, but I think that he was worth more to us than what we could've gotten in trade, especially because his back condition -- not the extent of it but certainly the possibility of how bad it could be -- was pretty well known. I feel the same way about Buehrle, by the way. He's a White Sox. There is no comparison between the 2. Buehrle was a good pitcher coming off a career bad year, Crede is a bad hitter coming off a career good year, with back problems, and our top prospect behind him, plus a crazy agent.

Not trading Crede officially moves to #1 on the "things that will be mentioned as to why KW was fired" list, whenever that happens.

What is PFB Show?
-
The show has spent 8 years being completely different from anything else on T.V. The fact that it could end like it did, with you wondering whether the entire family was about to get whacked or if life was simply continuing to go on was great. I would have hated for a great series to be ruined by wrapping the whole thing up in a little bow like others do. I loved it, although if they are saving more for the movie or alternate endings on the DVD I take this post back.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 06:50 PM) Since when have you been in a position to criticize other people saying negative stuff? I'm over dramatic and reactionary. Your just a plain old party pooper.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 08:50 PM) 5 hits, no runs against a team that gave up 17 runs yesterday including 11 runs by the pen. They were due to shut somebody down.
-
I legitimately wouldn't be surprised if we get no hit by Hamels tomorrow. Wow is that sad.
-
Tomorrow will be worse. Yes I know we had 0 runs and 5 hits tonight, but Hamels will still somehow make it worse.
-
Adam Eaton entered tonight with a 6 ERA. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball tonight. Then, we couldn't hit their awful bullpen. And this is an NL team playing in a great hitters park.

I think he MIGHT have been first ball fast ball hunting. The space program called and told Howard to stay out of the flight path. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 05:14 PM) If he's talking about the cold weather there, then we can probably forget about going after him this offseason. I swear, if Jesus came back you'd say "ahh damn all that crazy stuff in Revelations is gonna kills us all now".

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 06:39 PM) Did anyone actually think Javy wouldn't struggle with the longball at this park? That Burrell ball would have been a homer at Yellowstone Park, let alone Citizens Bank. OUCH Hawk. While talking about Javy's career .214 average, he said "that's not far off from where some of our regular guys have been". I'm shocked he'd step out and say something like that, even if it was subtle. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) I didn't see Bobby's game Saturday, but Sunday he was hitting 96-97 with his fastball. I was there, and he didn't get above 94 on the stadium gun Saturday, and was mostly at 91 to 93. That and him not looking good had me concerned, but his stuff looked way better yesterday. I have a feeling inactivity might have had something to do with what we saw Saturday.

Rolling curveball. That is a flashback to the kinda pitches he was throwing in the 6th inning last year. -

Man is Erin Andrews fine. Wow. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 06:31 PM) Fields didnt hit that one tremendously and it sent Rowand back to the track. Even though he is 2-19, he is gonna get going soon. Just keep pluggin him in the lineup. And defensively he has been great. Yeah I thought Utley crushed his and Terrero caught it 2 steps shy of the track in front of the 401 sign, Fields one looked like a fly ball and was caught a step from the wall at the 401 sign.
