Bukvich was right when he said "Umm Right Handed" to the question of what kind of pitcher he is. That is ALL he is.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:19 PM) Haha....KW and Ozzie really should be out of a job. This is some of the poorest managing and general managing I've ever seen. Indeed.

I can't believe somebody is ignorant enough to say Konerko's contract was dumb. Unreal. Fields is going yard to leadoff the 9th.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) Konerko is out now. Who is our first baseman? Toby Hall, HA!!

LMAO that is a hit? If Jeter fields it clean, Konerko is out by half a dozen steps. Come on scorekeeper, your smarter than that.

Jeter is just so bad defensively, but we'll take the run.

All the Thome haters will post how Rowand would have hit a homer there. Ugh.

Thornton is taking the Damaso Marte career arc with us.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) So you wanted to replace Thornton after 2006? Interesting. So this bullpen isn't the worst in baseball? Intersting.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) Why isn't Logan our lefty specialist? It's sad when Boone Logan is one of only 2 bullpen arms we have that doesn't suck.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) Thornton = blown save machine. And Abreu is a f***ING SOX KILLER!!!!! It was 1-1, how is that a blown save?

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) Good job by Contreras tonight...still not sure how he retires big league hitters. Unfortunately, Ozzie left him in one batter too long. He gave up an infield hit!! Come on....we suck, and Ozzie has minimal say in the matter.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) That's the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox's offense. I never thought I'd see the day where both of these teams suck at the same time.

lol a single off the left field fence. Don't screw this up, i'd take a freaking DP for a run right now.

Thome with the infield single, showing that speed.

QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) where is the pitching in the system? Double A. That team alone has more pitching talent than every team combined in our system has positional talent.

QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 08:56 PM) You don't even know if he will make it. Lets let him play a few years before you annoint him better than crede. Look at the great Brian andersen now. Hope he is saving his money because there will be no big payday. Josh Fields will not put up a .305 career on base percentage, that's a promise I can even make. And Wendall Middlebrooks for President.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) Can someone please explain to me why we're drafting all pitchers when we need about 4-5 positions on the field to be replaced? Is KW planning to trade all of his pitching prospects to fill needs? Well, that's one way to go about it...as pitchers are the most valuable components of any organization, just not sure I agree with that philosophy or not. The philosophy of pitching is fine, but to take no position prospects today when that is a HUGE need for us, ugh.

QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) i know you guys love stats and thats fine but Joe crede is a darn good 3baseman and he will be missed as we watch fields strike out a whole bunch. Now I am not saying take a huge chance on crede with his back, but he may go the way Maggs went, big injury and a big comeback with another team. My worry is that the sox really do not judge there farm well. Therefore people on KW 's so called projection board will lead us to low places in this division. Joe Crede has a career .259 batting average, .305 on base, .446 slugging, and .750 OPS. Those are all significantly below average for a major league 3rd basement, and i can promise you Josh Fields won't have a damn .305 on base or .750 OPS, yet some fans will rip him since he's not "clutch" like Crede and strikes out too much. Figures.
