Classic Walkerball by Dye. Hips fly open, about a week early* swing, roll over to 3rd on the ground. That is textbook Greg Walker teaching at work.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:35 PM) Thome is going yard here. Hey, a walk works. Cleveland wins 1-0 BTW, Sabathia finished it out.

How is this bad weather Hawk? It's in the mid 50's at 8:30 at night, this beats the hell out of 90's and humid.

It's not even cold out, I have the window open, lol. This performance has been almost as damning towards Walker as 0 for 61*

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) He is spotting some of it low and away. That is what is the Kryptonite to Walkerball. His strikeouts have all been down, mostly away. But a lot of our popups have been on good pitches to hit, even for Walkerball.

Josh Fields better be on a plane right now. Send down Gonzalez, he's not doing anything anyways.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:28 PM) Any time now, the offense can hit. Alrighty offense, you can hit this pile of dung any day now. 87mph and straight, you dont need a scouting report to hit it. Imagine a batting machine. This guy is actually throwing a lot of pitches that lift and pull should work against. But to no avail.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) Last week we had the excuse of facing Doc Halladay. Who only gave up 12 hits and 8 runs in 3.1 IP tonight.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) Nice arm, Jerry He is doing a really good Pods impression, appears I was dead wrong about JO. Although he had no shot at Cano there even with a great throw. Pickoffs are fun.

Come on Mark, Cairo is over 20 points below the Mendoza line and he's 2 for 2 with an RBI? Pay attention.

At least Cano, unlike most players Hawk blows, actually has talent.

I know I sound like a broken record for those of you who were in here last night, but it amazes me how hard Cano hits the ball consistently. I have no idea how he could ever slump.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:15 PM) Jeter has no range. Uribe EASILY makes both of those plays (the hits). Now I will wait for somebody to interpret this as me saying Uribe is better than Jeter. Jeter has had no range his entire major league career. The fact he isn't globally considering a piss poor fielder (which he is) is mind boggling, let alone him having gold gloves. It's an impressive feat even by the standards of the east coast hype machine. On cue, Uribe makes a play Jeter could only dream of rangewise right there.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:15 PM) How exactly did Dye git to third from first on a grounder to the shortstop? A-Rod was busy thinking of his muscular, shemale type women and didn't cover 3rd and Dye was heads up enough to take off and beat Clippard to the bag.

Ahh just a bit underneath it. At least we picked up that run.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:12 PM) Sabathia taking a 1-0 shutout (at least) into the 9th versus KC. Royals are looking really putrid, Gordon might need to go down to Omaha, I doubt they let Borowski get a sniff of this game. Sabathia at 100 pitches through 8, he's finishing the job. Wow, way to pick up Paulie Rob!!

This has got to be the worst Sox team I've ever seen at productive outs. All they have to do is make the proper kind of OUT to get a run and they never seem to .
-
White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/5/07 (L)
That might have been the worst slide of all time by Dye, but it creates a shot at a run.

Crede Out Again, Possible DL Trip (per Score)
You can't say the team was proven fully correct about Crede at all since they didn't trade him last winter.
-
Saw the Knights last night
Heath and Ryan are pretty well known nice guys, and awesome to see Josh is in the same boat. Hopefully you saw Josh's last game in a Knights uni in a long time. Nice pic too.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 06:50 PM) Josh Fields is not starting for Charlotte tonight. Is he on his way to Chicago? I hope so... He hadn't missed a game all year until his day off, which was just on Sunday. If he isn't coming up I'd be shocked.
-
rowand to the sox?
Rowand has remembered he's a mediocre hitter since May 6th. But if it gets MacDougal out of here and brings an actual starting OF, I can't argue with it.
-
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
We really need to find ANYBODY that can get bullpen outs besides Jenks. Nice to see the offense look a bit better tonight, although half the runs were gifts, but beggars can't be choosers. Awesome job Garland, Konerko, and Iguchi at the plate only.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) Have you been watching the game?!? Other than the first inning, he's made some great plays. Jeez. Great plays? He had 2 errors and made a few easy plays.
