  1. This shouldn't be a surprise. Anybody that's seen us against Johan should know we piss our pants at any sign of a changeup. good start Eminem.
  2. Wow, a 3-2 changeup for a whiff. I've never seen that before. 4-2 good guys heading to the 7th.
  3. Morneau pops out to center field. (well ok, he caught it right at the wall). 1 out!
  4. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) I'd leave him in till he gets into touble, then yank him FAST! Of course. Any baserunners and he gawn.
  5. Christ. They showed the replay, and Morneau's homer earlier hit off the LF's glove and went into the stands. Unreal.
  6. Heading to the bottom of the 9th at Minny, 3-2 Indians. Byrd will try and finish off the CG.
  7. I might leave Mark in. 7-8-9 is up, and they are 1-6 against him today.
  8. Gooch splits: 2005 vs. lefties: .274/.353/.459/.812 2005 vs. righties: .279/.337/.430/.768 2006 vs. lefties: .226/.284/.355/.639 2006 vs. righties: .329/.387/.465/.852
  9. Thatta boy Mark. 6 solid innings overall so far for him, despite all the early crap.
  10. Looking at the numbers, Paul Byrd has only thrown 87 pitches in that game at Minny. They might let him try and finish what he started.
  11. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) Your right, i f***ed up I'm horrendous with metaphors and such, so I know the feeling. However, parallel instead of paramount is pretty bad.
  12. 3-2 Cleveland heading to the 9th in Minny. I really hope they don't bring in that Carmona guy. Oh, and btw.....it's not even close. Sandy is easily faster than PK.
  13. Juan swings and misses at ball 4 for the k. First time for everything I guess.
  14. Roger Bossard cost us a hit there. Come on sodfather, get your game on!! QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) It's parallel that we score a couple more runs wtf?
  15. Considering the conditions and all the baserunners, Mark hasn't done all that bad a job today. At least he hasn't given up the gopher balls when any of the many men KC has had on base were on the basepaths.
  16. As a hitter, being good 3 times out of 10 is success.....unless your Grudz against the Sox, at which time you shall be good 9 times out of 10.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) It's not Ozzie's fault that he can't motivate his team? Is that what you're saying? Ozzie's JOB is to motivate this team. Some managers are motivators, some are tacticians. Ozzie is clearly not the latter. If he can't motivate his team, which I guess isn't part of his job, then he should be fired. I'm not a big fan of Ozzie as a manager overall obviously, but at this point, through 120 plus games, in mid August, in the heart of a pennant chase....these guys should not need motivation. This isn't April against the Mariners or something, by now these guys should know how good they could be and how big every last game is. But they don't, and that is sad.
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 15, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) Or he drafted all of them, but you were close courtesy Wiki Tim Hudson - 6th round, '97 Mark Mulder - 1st round, '98 Barry Zito - 1st round, '99 Sooooooo he can take credit for everything the A's have done in the past 10 years. He has changed that, as seen by the last two years. A's bullpen - 3.56 ERA, 1.33 WHIP Calero - 47 IP, 1.17 WHIP, 2.87 ERA Duchscherer - 38.1 IP, 1.20 WHIP, 3.05 ERA Street - 57.1 IP, 0.94 WHIP, 2.98 ERA Along with Halsey, Gaudin, Flores, and Saarloos who have all been solid but not spectacular(most of mid 3 ERAs and WHIPs in the 1.3+ range). His offense this year, on paper, has a little better slugging percentage as a team, but Chavez has been mediocre, Bradley's been hurt, Kotsay and Kendall have both been so-so, Swisher's been cold the past few weeks, Crosby flat out sucks, and Thomas was cold to start the year. If that offense could perform anything up to its capabilities, it would be really solid. Regardless, all in all, they are a very scary team, even come postseason time where the A's have been horrible. Your actually correct that their bullpen has been very good. Problem is, their starting rotation falloff and injuries have canceled out what the bullpen is doing, and overall that offense still sucks. They just aren't good enough to do anything come October in the AL, unless Harden is healthy, which is like saying unless Wood and Prior are healthy.
  19. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) This brings up another possibility, which has been itching at me since this broke. The guy could be completely innocent. I'm going to try to put this as carefully as possible... if one knew my real name (my name not being North SideSox the 72nd), and searched the various case files for the Ramsey case, you would in fact find my name. I played a very, very small part in the investigation, back in 1996 or 1997. There was a person of "interest" we happened to come in contact with - a person not all there, and who had a documented history that included sex crimes against a child - who was not only obsessed with the case, but he actually somehow knew the Ramseys before the murder. Mind you, this person is NOT, I repeat NOT, John Mark Karr. My point is, there are a lot of lunatics out there, and this Karr guy may be innocent of the crime but guilty of being a creep. Anyway, suffice it to say, this dude may be entirely innocent of the crime. I've seen something similar before, first hand. Your were part of the investigation? Wow, that's fascinating....how much do you know (not asking you to tell us, but more like do you know as much as anybody in general is the question). Also, are you saying they might have just decided after 10 years to find a crazy guy who was in the area at the time to frame with the crime?
  20. Make it a confession of the crime.... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060817/ap_on_...jonbenet_ramsey
