  1. Jenks in particular. Would be great if we could package Jenks with one of the aging 1b/LF/DH type bats we have.
  2. To be honest, KW didnt make the moves to put us in a good place EITHER last year or this year. Last year a few things bounced his way. Led to a lot of confidence coming from him for this year, and now it's all crashing down and he'll get all upset and what not. As if this werent of his own making. All things considered though I'm glad we stowed the cash away, as long as we're really going to spend it once some of the dinos come off the books.
  3. I hope things get real bad. I know it's not the NBA, but a message has to be sent that this team needs to spend when some of that money comes off the books this offseason.
  4. i know its far too early but at this point what level prospect might colon be worth to a winning team that has lost a pitcher
  5. CORKY !!!! Finally something goes right for this team. It's going to be ugly when A.J. indignance over sitting..well ..ever..... comes back to haunt him. Maybe not this yr but when the decline worsens.
  6. Sipp cannot at all find the plate, yet Hawkeroo contractually obligated to throw in his 'turn em loose'
  7. Hmm. Ozzie committing to a bullpen draining game tonight. Hope we can ease up on the pen for tomorrow mornings game
  8. Lillibridge takes hilarious cuts. Leave him in the minors til he gets it thru his head that he's not Belle.
  9. Lets convert Carrasco to a starter. I know it sounds crazy and hasty, but of our long relievers why just automatically default to Richard? He hasnt had the success as a major leaguer that Carrasco has over this season and last. Obviously Richard has upside but it'd be nice to see it for a longer stretch as a reliever first. Interestingly each has pitched 60 innings over the last two years, and although many more of those for Richard are starter innings, the results have a huge disparity. If we're trying to win now I dont know what Clayton gives us.
  10. OK! I'm fine with decreased production from Thome from these last few years. Just up the timeliness of your RBIs. oddly enough that all seems to be happening.
  11. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ May 12, 2009 -> 07:19 PM) Good call. Lillibridge looks like Fred Savage. lillibridge is Tom Brady but headshrunken, all-shrunken
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 12, 2009 -> 07:18 PM) Sowers looks like Sirotka i think that was way back there in my mind trying to get out. Yes. definitely
  13. with first base open i wonder if Fields actually wont get the straight fastballs that bedevil him so or not
  14. Lets see how many guys we can get injured it now makes sense that thome's hurt....b/c that stutter step at 2b was making me laugh
  15. Nix is about to enter Bears Backup QB status well 1990-2008 shall we say.
  16. I envy those teams that just lose instead of " be real bad then almost get hits off bad bullpens but dont"
  17. Lilliputian absolutely breaking down their L v. R fear factor here.
  18. Vazquez is plenty OK for lower in the rotation. We're missing him now. That is not to say i wouldnt do the trade, but if we wanted to win this year, he wouldve been a help lower in the rotation.
  19. Jimmy Gobble's White Sox debut - maybe he can take steroids like Esteban Loaiza and totally turn around his career here!!

I dont want to see them pop up on the screen every second.
  21. angle or no angle, i think he couldve take a few steps into foul ground and calmly thrown out Konerko at home.
  22. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ May 11, 2009 -> 08:49 AM) good to see the "message sent" really carried over into Sunday. Texas hitters looked really uncomfortable. Thats my thought on this stuff. It really is a tree falling in a forest. More than 'send a message' it'll just be forgotten soon enough. In fact the only real result that could come of it will be a negative one.
