  1. Bottom of KC's order has been swinging wildly at the high fastball
  2. That play was definitely something Crede wasnt so good at. Overall Joe's heyday will still be superior defensively but Fields has the athleticism over him, evident on plays like that one.
  3. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) YES!!! Getz on 2nd!!! That's the kind of speed I wish the sox had more of! I think it's more like Getz has normal speed and just seems like more b/c of the surrounding dinos
  4. Hawk was able to say Alesay during the ST but regular season brings a whole new mindset for him.
  5. I think the chance of a throw being off or bobbled is higher than Wise's chances. Hopefully as the year goes on that opinion gets thwarted.
  6. We got something out of it anyway. Gotta send Dye. It's so backwards that the #9 hitter (this year) in that situation is seen as the 'last viable chance'
  7. Very frustrating. As long as the start to the season isnt as frustrating as what STL went thru, i'll be moderately fine.
  8. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) you'll be proven wrong *descending tugboat horn sound*
  9. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 01:15 PM) OBP is king I wasnt being serious either, but it's hard to hate that line of thinking when you look up and down our lineup.
  10. Perhaps using opening day as a lead blocker of sorts, KW finally spoke a little more about the organization's offseason philosophy regarding the leadoff hitter spot http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....ox-opening-day/
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 12:57 PM) Gameday for Mike Jacobs Hates to Face: Four-seam Loves to Face: Four-seam Well he's a complicated man
  12. Obviously minor, but it's funny to me how Getz got so much more pop than Wise, when he has dont close to zero yet for the org and Wise at least has some postseason heroics.
  13. Soriano homers in the first atbat of the year
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 02:13 PM) If the Bears signed Plaxico and there was one problem, everyone involved in signing him should immediately be fired. I really think there is zero chance Angelo is even considering bringing this knucklehead in. T. O. is an angel compared to this guy. Character should count for something. It amazes me how many people on this board want him in a Bears uniform, like he'll really be a changed person by all of this. If anything, judging by his traffic offenses and responses, he still thinks he's invincible. Avoiding a lengthy jail sentence and/or a lengthy suspension by the NFL would only make his head grow larger and he would act like even a bigger idiot. We're gonna say all this even without knowing the contract parameters are? I mean, I'm all for getting quality guys here - but Rashied Davis is a quality guy who just cant play the position. Lets have him brought in super cheap. If issues arise it was low-risk to begin with. After all we have no WRs at the moment who have done much so he's taking no one's time.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 4, 2009 -> 01:27 AM) His post Sox career totally sucked. Had that real nice year with Oakland I think even if Thome got hurt for the year I wouldnt want him back. Some things are best left alone. Even as a celebratory move to bring him back, for some reason I think something would sour it. The ole' foot in mouth disease might crop back up for not only him but a few other parties.
  16. God Mark Schlereth just looks so bitter and jealous over this. Be a pro, jeez. As far as Cutler being a Cubs fan, I'll forgive him his Cubdom easily to solve this Bears QB quest that is going on its 22nd year or so. At this point I'd take on a Satanist at the position. Church of Satan's actual ideology when you learn about it is kinda cool.
  17. The only reclamation projects we allow are those of the pitching variety. Unless there's a CF spot open ho ho ho
