  1. just a thought but this could use a thread title change since now we're past Thursday but it's still going strong. Kind of misleads since he's demoted now and there's no other thread indicating that.
  2. Big Sirotka fan as well, and yea, that 0-1 loss to Pedro was one of the games that stays emblazoned in my memory
  3. arm numbness from being hit by pitches on multiple consecutive days
  4. Swish is too streaky for 1 spot, too K prone for the 2 spot
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) Papelbon shows what a relief pitcher is supposed to. Actually not the case at all. He's a unique relief pitcher.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 08:27 PM) FOX had baseball, FOX had the Bernie Mac Show. Cross-promotion. Bernie went where they told him to go. Exactly the reason Carlos Bernard was at the 05 postseason games and on camera. But in reverse.
  7. with barack and kanye we're making a sudden run at the celeb fan list. too bad we lost one in Bernie recently, however.
  8. QUOTE (Karko's Throat Skin @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 07:15 PM) ***Hip-Hop Alert*** Jay-Z's Kanye produced track "Dope Boy Fresh/Jockin' Jay-Z" just leaked in CD quality. Anyone else a hip-hop fan? wondering - is kanye an avowed sox fan? or anything chicago fan?
  9. Why am I drawing a blank on what bet Hawk lost?
  10. Their fans have been so spoiled by those payrolls and, well, rings
  11. From sonsofsamhorn: and...how many wins do they have again? wow.
  12. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) I wish we would have gave Fields more of a shot. It's that 2005 part of me I'm sure, but it's Uribe's time. Cant believe it but playing Juan is the proper 'win now' move.
  13. Had volume down and I shrieked when WCIU mistakenly put up 1 out just then
  14. Wow Wilson didnt seem to care too much about no hitters
  15. Longoria has been too good. even with this time missed for the wrist, it's not going to even up the numbers enough Even with Alexei having been on the bench for a similar chunk of time himself.
  16. QUOTE (rcpweiner @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) I agree about moving A.J. out of the 2-hole. It was a good idea earlier on in the season when there were no other options, but at this point, I'd rather have Swisher up there for his OBP or Alexei for his general speedsmanship. Stick A.J. at 6 or 7. Swish with the 98 Ks though
  17. QUOTE (BearSox @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 03:43 PM) I am pretty sure the discussion was about Orlando Hudson, not Tim... oops, deal doesnt end til another year
  18. Hudson really does fit the profile of what the Sox would pursue. At 33, he's going to have to settle for the shorter years deal which is our ,um, specialty regarding pitchers
  19. QUOTE (Drew @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) "Here I go Again" is Whitesnake. The Great White tune you're thinking of could likely be "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" or maybe "The Angel Song." All these bands are the same thing basically. Hence the confusion.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 11:55 AM) Quentin was never behind Anderson. Actually, you're right, and the reason is b/c Ozzie favored CQ from the start, saw his work ethic. With Anderson's spring, most other managers would have given BA the reins. Good thing Ozzie dislikes BA enough.
  21. So unbelievable that we're seeing this thread for a guy who originally was slated to not make the team. In a sense was behind Owens, Anderson and Alexei for outfield time.
  22. Pitching dies there. Our guys would go there to die.
