  1. Arya's been on a suicide mission since season 1. She realized she has a purpose in the same episode Dany realized she no longer had a purpose. Is symbolism lost on all of you? I blame M Night Shyamalan. Everyone wants textbook story's with a twist now.
  2. I liked Cersei's death. The kingdom literally crumbled on top of her. There's been a lot of stupid in the show, but this season makes total sense. In fairness, it's how I thought it would end... For the most part
  3. Yet people have been predicting this is how it ends from the beginning.
  4. It's going to even crazier in the books because her and Missandei are both children in the books.
  5. The whole book series she's actively trying to fight becoming like the rest of the Targaryens. She becomes the worst of them all. That's the tragedy.
  6. She's crazy with rage. She's lost everything. She's born of incest from a whole line of psychos. It all makes sense to me.
  7. That idiot Jack Parkman is going to ruin this thread too, huh? That dude can't help himself. Get that Star Wars shit out of here.
  8. The Dany/Jon love story was rushed as fuck too. Nobody complained because that's what they wanted. It reminds of the end of the Sopranos. Everyone was all butthurt, but they forgot about the butthurt as time went on.
  9. They won't have a choice. Jon's gonna retire in the North with his dog.
  10. They should have listened to the witch in Season 1. She saw what Dany was all about.
  11. I agree it felt rushed. It makes sense though. It was obvious when she was in Winterfell that she was empty. She lost everything. Missandei represented her innocence and she lost her too. Shes lost Selmy, Jorah, Missandei, Jon, her dragons, her innocence, her right to the throne etc. It's a lot of story and there's only so much time.
  12. There's a lot of butthurt people that are mad it's not ending the way they wanted it to. What was Tyrion's famous line - "If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention." If Dany's arc makes no sense, it's a pretty crazy coincidence that legions of fans have been predicting it for years.
  13. Dany's arc is about tragedy. She spent her whole life trying to avoid her fate and not be like her father. In the end, she gave into the rage and ended up worse. She explained what "mercy is our strength" meant and apparently you didn't get it. Dany's character has never shown mercy to those that have wronged her. I believe the Mad King burned Brandon Stark for refusing to bend the knee, just like Dany burned the Tarly's for refusing.
  14. I'm sure he got a raven to future Queen, Sansa at the future capitol, Winterfell.
  15. For sure. Man, I was really surprised she actually killed Varys. That was a great way to start the episode and very symbolic. Varys was always the one doing whatever it took to protect King's Landing. He dies in the episode that the city is turned to rubble.
  16. I wonder how the Young Grif/Golden Company is going to play a role in the books.
  17. Now we're down to Sansa, Jon, Arya, Davos, Dany, Tyrion, Brienne and Greyworm as the only named characters still alive. Bran is no longer Bran btw.
  18. Generally, I think we've grown overly reliant on twist endings to story's. Twists used to be a fun novelty. Now, they're almost expected. I don't think that's good for any storytelling medium.
  19. I'm sure it's a twist to people that only watch the show and aren't as invested.
  20. I pretty much hated Seasons 5 and 6, but this season has been super satisfying for me. Sure, I wish it was written better. The dialogue is bad, but it's still a satisfying end. It's crazy to think how much time I've invested, and it's about to be over. Read the books more than once. Watched the show. Have spent countless hours on forums.
  21. And got hulk smashed by a warhammer for it. ?
  22. In the books, Dany grows increasingly ruthless. It's not as ham-fisted as in the show, but then again, Martin writes and writes and writes and writes. There isn't that much time in TV.
  23. Not all. Rhaegar was righteous.
  24. I'd guess there literally is no more Iron Throne. It's crazy to think some fans have had this ending nailed for so long.
