Only 2 years after Eaton was traded, the team is already 500 and quickly trending up. The front office has been awesome.

This. I'd like to add Bumgarner as your LH vet. If Lopez is still struggling next year, you can add a middle of the rotation vet at the deadline to eat innings. Next year we'll be in that 85-90 win bracket, and the year after we're contenders. The timing will be good for Kopech and Cease to get stretched out.

Why would we make a deadline deal? We need a back end starter. They can be bought in the off-season without giving up value.

I think we scored the first run in something like the first 20 games of the year. Our pitchers were always pitching with a lead, their confidence snowballed and they were all playing off each other. That team had a really interesting dynamic.

I buy that he's a kid that needs to refine his control and they're closely monitoring his work load. If you're going to tell me that the PCL is a harder league to pitch in than the American League, well LOL.

I think the bat probably messed with him more than most prospects. It's one thing when you're talking about the difference between 410 ft bombs and 450 ft bombs, but it's another thing when you lack power and have to switch bats.

Thome was a great move. Rowand was in the Adam Eaton school of "overrated as fuck." Rios was really risky and Dunn's health caught up to him.

Last time the Sox were in contention they went out and got guys like Thome, Dunn and Rios. Maybe not the best moves, but not the cheapest moves.
