Dallas Keuchel signs one year deal with Braves
There is a rebuild. When the team is ready to compete, the rebuild is over. Unless, you think the Cubs and Stro's are in phase 8 of their rebuild or something stupid like that.

Dallas Keuchel signs one year deal with Braves
I'm comprehending fine. Now you're talking about when the rebuild is over? I thought you were talking about the rebuild itself.

Dallas Keuchel signs one year deal with Braves
Once they thought the team was ready, they were no longer rebuilding. You're just complaining to complain. Par for the course...

Dallas Keuchel signs one year deal with Braves
When young players are ready, it's no longer a rebuild, right? I just don't know how you "go cheap" on a rebuild when going cheap is kind of the point.

Wtf does this mean? As opposed to an expensive rebuild? ?

Best Organizational Young Talent Since???
Four years later? Semien was a 3 WAR player his first year in Oakland. It was a dumb trade at the time and its still a dumb trade.

Lopez Needs to go down
Cease has been real solid in AAA, but not exactly exceptional. There's no rush.

The $$$$ will be spent!
I'm on board with Bumgarner. The staff needs a vet and a lefty. He'd fill 2 holes.

OUTFIELD A MAJOR ISSUE.

Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
He's fast too. It's super premature to talk batting titles though.

Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
Competing for batting titles? That's a stretch.

Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
People just need to accept that he's not a fantasy player and he'll never have a pretty slashline. That doesn't mean he can't be an extremely valuable player. He has a couple of elite tools. I don't think it's worth a top 5 pick, but it is what it is.

Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
Because most MLB managers still believe in sacrificing AB's to get runners over. I'd prefer Moncada never wastes an AB and he also has some bat control issues. Madrigal is a much better fit for that role. Moncada should be trying to get on base and drive the ball. That's why I like him leading off.

Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
Moncada in the 2 hole is a waste of the team's best hitter.
-
Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
Right on. I agree with that. I think he'll be an ideal situational hitter, whose slash line might not be impressive, but will help the team win. He's going to challenge the sabr guys.
-
Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
Well, one is in A ball and the other is an MLB hitter who's still refining his approach and has been transparent about it. I'll be completely shocked if Madrigal ever draws more walks than Moncada.

Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
Or I'd have Collins in the 3 hole and Eloy in the 5th.
-
Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
1. Moncada - switch hitter who gets on base and can swipe bags 2. Madrigal - tailor made for the 2 hole 3. Eloy - situational hitter with power 4. Robert - ungodly power potential

Where is Nick Madrigal at in his development?
I didn't like the pick and still don't, but I'm also not worried about him making it on an MLB roster.

Wasn't Sirotka part of that group too. He flamed out due to injury, but was good for a while and got us Wells.

FS: White Sox Select HS RHP Matthew Thompson
He's 18. Just based on a few videos, his delivery looks pretty low effort. Maybe he can reach back when needed.

***Day 2 MLB Draft Thread Rounds 3-10***
Well, Collins will be up this year and Burger had his leg amputated, so I'm not sure what you're expecting.

When will Luis Robert be promoted again?
He's going to destroy baseballs regardless of how tightly they're wound. That sound off the bat is incredibly rare. I want to see him facing advanced pitching asap to find out who can exploit the holes in his approach. That's the next step in his development.
