  1. I never said roids. Nobody "roids." This isn't Gold's Gym.
  2. One of the fastest players in the league and built like a running back? You ever see him without a shirt?
  3. I think most are juicing. Absolutely. I'm not sure if you work out, but if you do, you'd know Trout ain't natty. It is what it is. I love to watch him play.
  4. If you don't think Trout is juicing then... wanna buy a bridge?
  5. Sure, but I don't think Trout will end his career like Bonds either.
  6. Barry Bonds would like a word with you.
  7. I'm a huge Robert fan, but I think you can argue that Moncada might have the highest ceiling in all of baseball. There's nothing he can't do exceptionally well. Tool wise, Robert reminds me of Mike Cameron. Off the top of my head, I can't think of another IF comp for Moncada.
  8. Reynaldo couldn't even make through the 1st inning of the season without somebody complaining about velocity. ?
  9. Machado also compares to Beltre and Eric Chavez. I just don't see them as the franchise defining players I want to sink all my money into, although I've probably always underrated Beltre.
  10. Fair enough. I'd consider great more in the context of history and elite current. Machado comps with Josh Donaldson and I struggle to call him great.
  11. You're right, hes had 2 great years.
  12. Stanton is a good power hitter that had a great year. Hes not a great player.
  13. My argument is that Machado isn't a franchise player. I never said I didn't like Machado. Jesus christ.
  14. I don't care how I look. I dont know any of you and I'm not a very active poster. I went back to the beginning because, as I said, I'm not articulating it well. If you want to be dick about it, cool.
  15. What if Machado is all the payroll flexibility they'll have moving forward? Obviously I'm not articulating this well. Let's say the Padres have a finite budget (obviously the Sox do), then is it wise to throw it all in the Machado basket? I don't think Machado is the player you want to go all in on.
  16. Regardless, I'll go back to where the conversation started. 3 years from now, I'd rather have an infield of Moncada, Anderson and Madrigal with payroll flexibility than Machado, Anderson and Moncada without any payroll flexibility.
  17. Are the Rangers a small market team? Weren't they throwing around a ton of money at that time?
  18. You could have just given some examples. Cano is one. It could just be a discussion and not an opportunity to take pot shots, but you know, Facebook.
  19. Absolutely. How often are truly elite players not pursued by a single big market team?
  20. I would never call myself a sports fan, that's for sure. I like baseball though.
  21. Who is Stephen Smith?
  22. Agreed. Yet he signed a $300M+ contract.
  23. The only thing you can really take issue with is the "future fat guy" comment. He was a SS last year. He wasn't very good there. Hes not elite, but he is very good overall. I'm not really seeing the issue. Elite players don't sign with the Padres or Sox. I guess not thinking Machado is a future hall of famer is somehow offensive.
  24. Soxtalk is becoming Facebook. "You lost." "Hot take." "Lol" Good god.
