  1. Throwing too hard. Too much emphasis on k's. The game is cannibalizing itself to placate the stat guys.
  2. Calling him up early could result in a $25M favor. Yeah, that's not gonna work for me.
  3. There you go believing the Twittersphere again.
  4. That's a titillating quote. Real edgy. A GM saying he doesn't know the roster yet.
  5. For the love of God, the owner of this team is pretty damn open about colluding to keep salaries down. Or, as open as a lawyer will be.
  6. And it's your own fault for believing sports GM talk. They all say the same bullshit. Ignore GM's. The only time you're going to get honest answers are from some ex jock coach that's taken so many greenies and shotgunned so many beers in his life that he no longer has a filter eg Ozzie. These guys make a living selling dreams to fans. I'm always surprised that it actually works.
  7. What'd they say, "we're going to be competitive in the market" or some bullshit GM speak like that? The same shit pretty much all sports teams tell fans. Pretty much what every one selling something says.
  8. Did they lie to the fan base, or did you just believe all the bullshit you read on Twitter? Newsflash: those guys on Twitter make a living by generating hype and manipulating sports fans.
  9. The front office has been terrible. I'm just not mad about it. It's expected. I'm just not under the delusion that I can change that and, as such, I have realistic expectations.
  10. Sports fans are weird. "I didn't expect them to land the guy, but God damn it, I'm furious they didn't."
  11. So, delusion. Let's pretend that some of the prospects develop into As caliber players. You think the Sox are going to sign a big name FA? Shit no. They're going to package the remaining prospects to try and get a star with a couple years left on his deal. They're going to sign vets with bad reputations or guys that might have a productive year left. this is who the Sox are. The Sox aren't going to magically become a big market player. Bridgeport isn't suddenly going to become a nice neighborhood and whatever they're calling the ball mall isn't suddenly going to be the hip, new destination for baseball fans in the area. There's a hundred years of history to tell you all this.
  12. It's like you're living under the delusion that the Sox are a world class organization. This is who the Sox are. This who they've always been. My reaction to all of this has been, "duh."
  13. The pity party Sox fans are having right now sure is something. Caufield is loving every minute of it.
  14. Duh? I'm not trying to be a dick, but this rebuild was always going to take a long time and have some really polarizing results. Some prospects are going to hit and others will be complete whiffs. The rebuild will most likely fail. Most rebuilds do fail. I'd still rather watch that then the team that treaded water at .500 for years.
  15. The problems are obvious. Repeating them over and over won't change that. It's been a miserable year for Sox fans, but I never wanted any of the FA's anyway. I think signing a major FA is way too big of a gamble for a team with the Sox market. Its been miserable for me because of all the set backs in the minors and Moncada's year. Aside from Eloy, the highlights of the minor league season were Cease and Adolfo not sucking. That's a pretty low bar.
  16. I almost forgot. The southside sucks. The neighborhood sucks. The ballpark kind of sucks. The uniforms are nice though.
  17. Probably because this is the 37th thread about how stupid of a trade it was. I'll save everyone's time. The Sox suck. The front office Sucks. The player development sucks. The drafting sucks. Carry on.
  18. Very original topic. I don't think this has ever been discussed before.
  19. Why did you quote me? This post has nothing to do with mine.
  20. Hell, the Diamondbacks drafted Kinsler twice and still whiffed on him 16 different times when the Rangers took him in the 17th round. Those idiots!
  21. Ian Kinsler was drafted in the 17th round. It looks like about 30 teams missed on him 17 times. He played college ball for Mizzou. Anderson played for Arizona. Every single part of your post was factually incorrect.
  22. Yeah, the Sox ruined a 35 year old Kip Wells who Don Cooper never actually coached under the "big lights." You're on fire.
  23. He got every part of that rant factually incorrect, but okay.
