Eloy officially got paid
The entire history of the franchise has been that they're cheap. Crying about it incessantly is just annoying. You knew the outcome already. Why continue to cry? It's just weird imo.

Eloy officially got paid
You can do better than this. I believe in you. Bring the heat.

Eloy officially got paid
So now we have to diss Eloy to prove how mad we are? Jesus.

Eloy officially got paid
You quoted it. Mission accomplished.

Eloy officially got paid
Or spend $320M on the 2.7 WAR Harper? Considering the year Harper and Machado had last year, WAR isn't the best argument.

Eloy officially got paid
I didn't make an argument. I'm mocking you guys.

Eloy officially got paid
Sox don't spend on Machado - "fuck you, you cheap bastards." Sox spend money on Eloy - "fuck you, you idiots." #soxfans

3/10 vs A's, 3pm, whitesox.com
Re low fb's v high fb's: How you want to attack the hitter depends a lot on which side of the plate they're hitting from. LH hitters have a natural uppercut, have trouble catching up to pitches up and destroy hangerd. RH hitters have trouble getting to balls down and in. There's obviously exceptions. Both pitches have always been and will always be effective depending on the hitter.

Signing Luke Heimlich: Acceptable or Quit being a fan worthy?
This is a fucked up story in every way. From a PR standpoint, you just can't do it. It's a nightmare.

Personal opinions on Sox rebuild pieces.
When I think of the long list of White Sox problems, it takes really long time until I get to Tim Anderson. At the very worst, he's adequate.

This is where I see a lot of the stat guys get it wrong. You want every player to be a prototype, but you don't consider how the team fits together. If your SS is a plus defender and gets 20/25, he doesn't have to be a high obp guy to be incredibly valuable, especially if you have a high obp 2nd and 3rd baseman. You don't need your 1st baseman to hit 40 bombs if you're getting plus power out of your C etc. It's about how the pieces on the team fit together. Not everyone has to be the prototypical player. It's not fantasy baseball.

If Moncada put up an .800 OPS with 25 homers and 25 SB's as a 24 year old, would anybody really be surprised? If Sale's elbow blew up this year, would anybody be surprised? This whole conversation could be a total 180 by this time next year and I don't think anybody in baseball would be surprised.

Robert might never stay healthy, but that kid has "holy shit" kind of power. https://twitter.com/GoldenSombrero/status/1060371779644878848 I don't know how to embed a Tweet.

Physically I can see that. Man, at 21 Jones already had a 30 HR season and a GG. Dude was a sure fire 1st ballot HOF for years and then just completely fell off a cliff.

At the plate, and physically, Moncada reminds me of Rickey Henderson. Obviously he's going to strike out a hell of a lot more, but he also has a lot more pure power.

If we're talking about pure talent and physical ability, I'd put Moncada and Robert 1A and 1B and Eloy at 2. They're both as about as physically gifted as any player you'll ever see. They most likely won't reach their potential, but that's because their potential is so incredibly high.

So you think you're too intelligent for your own good? You actually think that? Jesus Christ, dude. I'm gonna leave this thread now.

I like Lopez profile more than most. If he can locate his slider, his FB starts becoming an out pitch. His slider isn't great, but he still needs to throw it a lot more. If he can change eye levels with the slider, the high FB becomes really hard to hit. He's been dominant in spots. I think his ceiling is still a solid #2. His change can also be devastating at times. I think he can be a poor man's peak Bartolo Colon. Giolito is just too high maintenance to stick. The stuff is there sometimes, but he has so much shit going on with his delivery and his mental approach that I don't see him ever being consistent enough. He's a lot like Gavin Floyd. The talent is there. Everything else is lacking.

2019 fan engagement poll
I like baseball and I like watching players develop, so I'll watch a lot. I was one, probably the only one, who didn't want Harper or Machado anyway, so it won't change how much I'll watch.

Dane Dunning: No TJS just yet, rest and monitor
When you start a post implying you're qualified to argue with doctors, it's going to make the rest sound pretty outlandish.
