  1. wow.... i like lopez though. With the SP the sox have lined up, he was probably the most likely one to get dealt.
  2. Here's what Randy Johnson is worth: 0

    QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Neal Cotts kept the damage to two runs, but a triple on a play off of Scotty's glove (personally speaking I think its a ball that a lot of LF'ers catch, but I'm not going to call it an easy play) was about the only hard hit ball (until Mike Young knocked him out of the game with an RBI double). Here's my thoughts on Garland's performance (curious to hear what others thought of him): Jon threw a good game. He had a shaky 6th inning and obviously you'd like to see him go deeper in the game, but he got a ton of ground ball outs and seemed to be throwing a little easier. Stunk he couldn't go deeper, but the Rangers really had some good AB's on him and eventually he made a mistake to Young (after Young fouled off some tough pitches; its also a play Dye makes some of the time, but Garland gave up the hard hit ball and thats on him). Kinsler also had a really good AB (to draw the 1 out walk that started things). Overall I thought Jon threw the ball pretty good. NOTE: I posted this in the game thread, but when I thought about it, I figured this is an easier place for those who may not have been able to see the game to find info on Garland's start. my thoughts exactly

    Other than pujols, Soriano has been the best offensive player in baseball this year. And considering the size of his home park and the general crappiness of the nationals, he's been pretty rediculous. Soriano WILL be traded... its just a question of which team will pay the highest price. If the Yankees had any young talent at all, he'd be in pinstripes... but they really don't. Soriano is a free agent and has expressed very little interest in returning to Washington. He's a rental player cause he is definitely entering the free agent market at the end of the year. The white sox might be a player for soriano, but the price would be hefty. Where would he hit on the white sox? 5th? move JD down? Maybe bat Iguchi sixth and Soriano second? Its probably a waste of time to speculate cause it ain't happening
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 12:35 PM) I'm starting to think MBINAA. careful... thats the kind of post that can trigger heated thirty page thread that with arguments that go around and around and around
  7. hbp for haffner. Someone elsewhere on the board recommended the IBB for Hafner. I prefer the HBP. It sends a message to the batter. You use less pitches... and it doesn't count against WHIP
  8. Matt Enuco had been expected to sign Thursday or Friday... No confirmation yet though
  9. Rowand has become a hometown favorite in Philly... a place where even Santa Claus is not a hometown favorite. I doubt they would deal him
  10. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 10:37 AM) ozuna in left...... i was listening to the score and the ranger said that george offman said the sox inquired about soriano,sanders, and clark. isnt soriano just as bad defensively as pablo? he has a lot of assists but hes pretty bad. i would hate trading for him. anyways yeah... soriano sucks in left. But other than pujols, he's been the best offensive player in baseball this year. And considering the size of his home park and the general crappiness of the nationals, he's been pretty rediculous. 11. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) THey seem like good friends. Who among us who argues sports with our friends doesn't raise our voice once in awhile? And we don't even have to talk 4 hours a day to our friends. They really do make good radio on a daily basis There should be something on it in Feder's Column on Monday. I thought it was really wierd too. Harry and Mac are not good friends. They generally don't really get along that well. Harry told the Feder a few months ago that they make it work cause the ratings have stayed strong... I do like it when the fight though... it makes for great radio
  12. The debate on this thread is completely worthless. I think we all know the answer in the outfield: Carl Everett Yes... its time to bring him back for a third time. He's got all the intangibles. He's a better centerfielder than Mack. He's a great clubhouse guy... I know deep down that Kenny Williams is considering this. How many prospects have we given up for the guy in the past? 5? 6? Why not make it 9 or 10.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) Jermaine.Dye. agreed
  14. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) Thankfully we kept Belliard in the yard. That guy seems to hit some crucial homeruns against us. He hit a game winner in the third game of last year off Shingo that went about 900 feet
  15. Hollandsworth is on a major league baseball roster not managed by Dusty Baker?! I'm stunned... someone in cleveland must owe baker a favor
  16. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Why Mack in left? I dont get it. Cause Widger has a slight case of the stomach flu
  17. that was a fairly crappy ab by aj
  18. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) I'm shocked that Cora didn't send Thome. Not because he should have, but because it's Cora. good post
  19. pk doubles... second and third... two outs
  20. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) Ah sheep... the only animal smarter than man
  21. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) Could someone explain what "ball 4, base hit" means again? is that supposed to be in green?
